Families of imprisoned terrorist complain about proposed Israeli legislation that cuts amount PA pays to terrorists from tax money Israel passes to PA

Headline: "The prisoners' families condemned the law that was passed by the Israeli Parliament to deduct [from PA tax money] the allowances of the prisoners and Martyrs' families"
"The families of the prisoners in Tulkarem condemned the fact that the Israeli Parliament yesterday [May 8, 2018] passed in a first reading a bill to deduct the allowances (mukhassasat) that the PA pays to the prisoners and the Martyrs' (Shahids') families from the tax money that Israel transfers to the Palestinian side (see note below –Ed.)… The father of prisoner Osama Al-Ashqar (i.e., terrorist, responsible for murder of 8), sentenced to 8 life sentences and an additional 50 years, said that the occupation government’s attempts to harm the rights and savings of the prisoners contradicts all of the international norms and conventions. He also emphasized that the situation of the prisoners within the prisons is most worrying due to the steps of the Israeli Prison Service to tighten the noose around the prisoners. He said that he constantly asks for his son in the Gilboa Prison together with his wife, and that his son has complained about the occupation authorities forbidding bringing in winter and summer clothes, committing medical neglect, and preventing him from continuing his university studies and bringing books and newspapers into the prison."

Bill to deduct terror salaries from PA tax money - A bill proposed by the Israeli Ministry of Defense that would deduct the amount of money the PA pays imprisoned terrorists and families of "Martyrs" from the tax money Israel collects for the PA, which was passed by the Israeli Parliament in a first reading on May 7, 2018. The bill would enable the deducted money to be used for infrastructure benefiting all West Bank residents, compensation awarded to terror victims in lawsuits against the PA or individual terrorists, and projects aimed at eliminating terror.

Osama Al-Ashqar - Palestinian terrorist and member of the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction) who sent terrorists to carry out the attack in Hermesh on Oct. 29, 2002, in which 3 Israelis were murdered, and the attack in Kibbutz Metzer on Nov. 11, 2002, in which 5 Israelis were murdered. He was also convicted of being responsible for dozens of shooting attacks in the Tulkarem area. Al-Ashqar is serving 8 life sentences and an additional 50 years.
