Ramallah governor participates in ‎ceremony with father of terrorist shooter

‎“District Governor of Ramallah and El-‎Bireh Dr. Laila Ghannam said that ‎loyalty passes from generation to ‎generation and that the Martyrs ‎‎(Shahids) would only increase our ‎insistence on achieving our rights, ‎which will never become dated. District ‎Governor Ghannam, Anti-Corruption ‎Authority Director Rafiq Al-Natsheh and ‎the leaders of the Fatah branches in ‎Jerusalem and Ramallah laid wreaths ‎on the grave of Eternal Martyr Yasser ‎Arafat, following the mourning ‎ceremonies for Martyr [Mutaz] Hijazi, ‎which were also attended by members of ‎the Fatah Central Committee and ‎representatives of the [Palestinian] ‎National Security Forces. ‎The purpose of the event was to ‎emphasize that Yasser Arafat’s path ‎continues through the generations who ‎remain loyal to it, and that the ‎occupation’s saying, ‘the old will die and ‎the young will forget,’ has been ‎disproven by the Palestinian ‎generations, who defend the national ‎cause… ‎The father of Martyr Hijazi spoke ‎willingly and proudly beside the grave of ‎Eternal Martyr Yasser Arafat, and ‎emphasized that the soul of his son, the ‎Martyr of Jerusalem Mutaz would tell the ‎soul of the eternal Martyr Yasser Arafat ‎that the residents of Jerusalem will not ‎bow their heads, but will continue the ‎struggle to achieve all the Palestinian ‎national rights.”‎

Note: Mutaz Hijazi – Islamic Jihad member ‎and released prisoner from Jerusalem who ‎attempted to assassinate Rabbi Yehuda ‎Glick, a prominent activist working to assure ‎rights for Jews to visit and pray on the ‎Temple Mount, on Oct. 29, 2014. The ‎assassination attempt took place following a ‎conference on establishing times and places ‎for Jews to pray on the Temple Mount. Glick ‎was seriously wounded in the attack; Hijazi ‎was killed soon afterwards when he opened ‎fire on an Israeli police force that was ‎attempting to arrest him.‎
