Headline: "The [PLO] Commission of Prisoners' Affairs opens the Roses for the Female Prisoners of Freedom Park in Al-Eizariya for International Women's Day"

"The [PLO] Commission of Prisoners' Affairs - together with the [PA] Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Al-Eizariya Municipality, the Al-Eizariya Youth Club, and the Jerusalem branch of the Fatah Movement – inaugurated the Roses for the Female Prisoners of Freedom Park on the grounds of the Al-Eizariya school for orphans yesterday (Thursday) [March 2, 2018]. This was as a sign of appreciation for the female Palestinian prisoners and on the occasion of International Women's Day that takes place annually on March 8.
The inauguration ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem in the presence of District Governor of Jerusalem Adnan Al-Husseini, District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam, Director of the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners' Affairs Issa Karake… relatives of female prisoner Israa Ja'abis (i.e., terrorist, wounded 1), and the father of girl prisoner Ahed Tamimi (i.e., Palestinian teenager who assaulted Israeli soldiers) …
Mayor of Al-Eizariya Issam Fir'aun gave an opening speech in which he welcomed those present and emphasized: 'Jerusalem will remain the eternal capital of Palestine and loyal to the sacrifices of the Martyrs (Shahids) and the male and female prisoners. It is an honor for the Al-Eizariya Municipality to inaugurate this park out of loyalty to our praiseworthy female prisoners.' […]
In her speech, Ghannam presented the boy Mu'tasim Ja'abis, the son of wounded female prisoner from Jerusalem Israa Ja'abis. She emphasized: 'The pain that Mu'tasim has experienced far from his mother - who was sentenced to 11 years - cannot be described in words. The troubles and suffering of the female Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prison will reach their end, and they will all be released. The occupation will pay the price of its crimes sooner or later.'
Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners' Affairs Issa Karake said: 'This activity is taking place as part of the loyalty to the female Palestinian prisoners sitting in the occupation's prison, and as a sign of solidarity with the great sacrifices they have made for the freedom and independence of the Palestinian people. The inauguration of this park is a message to the Israelis and the entire world – we are a beautiful people that loves life and freedom, sows hope and love, and does not relinquish its right to independence and the establishment of a state.'"

Israa Ja’abis – 31-year-old Palestinian terrorist, resident of East Jerusalem, who carried out a car bomb attack near Ma’ale Adumim, a few kilometers east of Jerusalem, on Oct. 11, 2015. A policeman who noticed a suspicious vehicle signaled for the driver to stop, after which she drove closer to a group of police officers and detonated a gas balloon. One policeman suffered light injuries and Ja’abis was seriously injured.

Ahed Tamimi – Teenage female Palestinian who attacked Israeli soldiers on Dec. 15, 2017, near the village of Nabi Saleh, north of Ramallah, together with her 21-year-old female cousin, Nour Tamimi, and her mother, Namiran. Ahed was later arrested and charged with several counts, including aggravated assault, hindering a soldier in the line of duty, incitement, and rock throwing. After her arrest, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas called her father Bassem Tamimi to praise her and her family's participation in "peaceful" protests. Ahed Tamimi has a history of assaulting Israeli soldiers.
