Israel is a colonialist implant
Israel is a colonialist implant
The PA created an odious alternative history to denigrate the rebirth of the State of Israel and deny Israel’s right to exist. Since Jews, they say, never had a history in the Land of Israel and therefore never would have started the Zionist movement on their own, an imaginative story had to be created to explain Jewish renaissance in Israel. Accordingly, they teach that Jews were so evil in every country they inhabited for thousands of years that the nations of the world were forced to persecute and often expel them – as acts of self-defense. According to the PA libel, the repeated persecutions and expulsions of Jews are proof that the world agrees about the evil nature of Jews. Britain and Europe were suffering last century from their Jews in their countries, and therefore created Zionism in order to be rid of their Jewish “burden.” The Land of Israel was chosen by the Europeans, in this scenario, as the place to send the Jews in order to control and steal the “natural resources” of the Middle East. This is what the PA is referring to in its schoolbooks and official media when they refer to Israel as an imperialist colonial implant.

This article is an early expression of this ideology in the official PA daily in 1998:
“The difference between Hitler and [British Foreign Minister] Balfour was simple: the former [Hitler] did not have colonies to send the Jews so he destroyed them, whereas Balfour… [turned] Palestine into his colony and sent the Jews. Balfour is Hitler with colonies, while Hitler is Balfour without colonies. They both wanted to get rid of the Jews… Zionism was crucial to the defense of the West’s interests in the region, [by] ridding Europe of the burden of its Jews.”
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 6, 1998]

This video is a recent expression of this PA ideology, on PA TV:
“Europe, led by Britain, founded Israel... We, as Arabs, as negotiators, as Palestinians when we meet with Europeans [should say]: 'You created and implanted a thieving entity upon Palestinian land...' As they implanted [Jews here] they got rid of [Jews there] and I do not wish to elaborate on this. The Jews in the time of Herzl caused European societies to lose sleep. They wanted to be rid of them, and implanted them in Palestine."

We said: Say ‘Sorry’ and recognize the State of Palestine. They said: It is problematic. We said: So we will submit a lawsuit against you in the international courts and in the courts in Britain. will not concede our rights. Ambassador of Palestine to the EU: Palestinian struggle to expel the "invaders" has lasted more than 100 years
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 10, 2017
Headline: “The Fatah Movement’s Belgium and Luxembourg branch marks Land Day”
“Under the auspices of the Embassy of Palestine, the Fatah Movement’s Belgium and Luxembourg branch marked the 41st Land Day in the center of the capital, Brussels…
Ambassador of Palestine to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg Abd Al-Rahim Al-Fara… emphasized that Land Day is one of the few national and pan-Arab events that sums up all of the significance of the Palestinian cause: resolve, resistance, resistance to colonialism and settlement, and unity of all of the sons of the one Palestinian homeland – from Rafah to Rosh HaNikra (i.e., an Israeli city in the Galilee) – against the occupier…
He said: ‘Our compass is only Palestine, in a struggle that has lasted more than 100 years for the purpose of expelling the invaders and establishing the Palestinian state.’”

Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.
PLO calls on the British government to "apologize for the ominous Balfour Promise"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 5, 2017
Headline: "The PLO called to expose the occupation's steps and its settlement policy"
"The PLO Department of Arab Relations called to expose the Israeli occupation's steps and its settlement policy…
The department noted that the fact that UN Secretary-General [António Guterres] cancelled the [UN] ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) report (see note below –Ed.) is an expression of his siding with the occupation government and its acts. This is in the shadow of the passing of 100 years since the ominous Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration), and the British government's insistence on continuing to support the occupation state and side with it and continue the injustice that was done to the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region as a result of this decision …
The department called… on the British government to end this historic tragedy that was caused to the Palestinian people, apologize for the ominous Balfour Promise, recognize the Palestinian state, and compensate those who were harmed by the historical injustice that the Balfour Promise constituted."

On March 17, 2017, UN Secretary-General António Guterres ordered that a UN ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) report declaring that "Israel has established an apartheid regime that systematically institutionalizes racial oppression and domination of the Palestinian people as a whole" be taken off the ESCWA website.

Abbas on the Balfour Declaration: Britain "must apologize for this historic mistake"

Headline: “Abbas in an interview with Al-Quds Al-Arabi: … We will turn to the international forums if Britain insists on marking the anniversary of the Balfour Promise and will not apologize”
Excerpt of an interview with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas by the London newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi

[Q:] “As we near the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration) that promised the Jews a national home in Palestine (on Nov. 2, 1917), [and as] preparations [are being made] to mark this anniversary, which British Prime Minister Theresa May has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to participate in – are there Palestinian steps that are more than just calls on London to apologize for this historic mistake against the Palestinian truth? And what Palestinian moves will there be if Britain ignores the Palestinian calls?”

[PA President Mahmoud Abbas:] “We began to demand that Britain apologize to the Palestinian people at [our] speeches of the last UN General Assembly session in September 2016, and also at the Arab Summit in Mauritania. We demanded and still demand that Britain not celebrate this event, which was catastrophic from the Palestinian people’s perspective. In addition, it must apologize for this historic mistake that it committed against us, and it must recognize the State of Palestine…”

[Q:] “And if Britain does not respond to the Palestinian demands on the matter? Are there other steps, for example turning to the International Criminal Court and other international organizations?”

[Mahmoud Abbas:] “I have said that we will turn to all of the local and international forums and talk to them..."

Fatah calls on Britain to “correct the historical mistake” of the Balfour Declaration

Headline: “The European Union condemns: New settlement construction will destroy the hope for the two-state solution”
“The Fatah Movement welcomed the international positions condemning the settlement colonialism. In a statement by its spokesman in Europe Jamal Nazzal, Fatah said that immediate recognition of the State of Palestine is the only logical and effective response to the settlement colonialism… Fatah expressed its appreciation for the position of British Secretary [of State for] Foreign [and Commonwealth Affairs] Boris Johnson regarding Israel’s announcement of the construction of 2,000 housing units in the settlements in the West Bank. It called on Britain to correct the historical mistake - the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration) - and to recognize the State of Palestine.”

Headline: “Fattouh calls on Britain to recognize the State of Palestine”
“Fatah Movement Central Committee member and Commissioner of International Relations Rawhi Fattouh called on Britain to recognize the State of Palestine within the 1967 borders whose capital is East Jerusalem, to implement the recommendation of the [British] parliament on the matter, and to submit an apology for issuing the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration). This was said during Fattouh’s meeting yesterday [March 30, 2017] with a delegation from the British Labour Party, led by General Secretary of the Party Iain McNicol. Fattouh emphasized the significance of the British recognition of the State of Palestine, particularly in light of the recommendation that was published by the parliament in 2014 on the matter, and also the importance of the apology for the historical mistake that the government of Britain made in issuing the Balfour Promise.”

Fatah official says violence unites Palestinians, calls on Fatah to join “civilian popular resistance against Israeli “colonialists”
Source: Al-Quds, Mar. 21, 2017
Headline: "The Fatah Movement from the Al-Karameh victory in 1968 to running on the spot in 2017"

Op-ed by Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki

"The [Fatah] Movement must be revitalized in actuality by joining the civilian popular resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinian leaders to refer to and include violence –Ed.) against the settlement and the occupation forces with tens of thousands of the movement's activists. They will be doubled in a moment by the national and Islamic forces and parties and the masses of our great people joining. This is because what unifies us is the battle and not dialogue, which has not brought any benefit on any of the different levels. If these masses succeed in blocking the bypass roads, Israel and its settlers will not remain [there] because the incentives for their presence are their freedom [of movement] and the lack of resistance in actuality to their presence as invading colonialists on our Palestinian land."

Palestinian Ambassador to the UK demands apology for the Balfour Declaration

He noted that this promise was given under the auspices of the last government of the then Liberal Democrats (sic., the Liberal party, which is currently part of the Liberal Democratic party), which places on them the moral responsibility for what happened to the Palestinian people due to this promise.”

Headline: “Al-Malki: The Arab foreign ministers decisively emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause”
“[PA Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad] Al-Malki discussed the recent developments in the Palestinian arena with his British counterpart [UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs] Boris Johnson…
He emphasized the [Palestinian] opposition to the preconditions set by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for starting any sort of negotiation between the Palestinian side and the Israeli side, and particularly what [Netanyahu] said in the US and in Australia regarding the need for Palestinian recognition of a Jewish state and for Israeli security control over the Palestinian state…
He mentioned the ominous Balfour Promise (i.e., Balfour Declaration), and demanded that Britain apologize for this promise instead of calling to mark [its 100th anniversary], because it is the greatest disaster that has been caused to the Palestinian people and to its dream to remain on the soil of its homeland like the rest of the peoples of the world.
He added: ‘It would have been better for Britain to fix the historical mistake that caused the greatest damage to the Palestinian people and to its national cause, as it made two-thirds of the Palestinian people refugees and homeless in the region and throughout the world.’ He also called on Britain to recognize the Palestinian state in the June 4 [1967] borders, whose capital is East Jerusalem.”

This law is the clearest form of a declaration of war against everything with roots in this country. This is proof that the battle is not against ‘the terrorist’ and not against ‘the extremist,’ but rather against the Arabs and the locals and against their every expression. Simply put, we will not obey the law and we will demand that the Muezzins not obey it, and we will expose all the means of pressure that will be exerted against them, whether by the government or by its branches.
Our people must know that those who passed the law and those who defend it are those who on a daily basis plan and aid in enlisting our youth into the security branches, and in erasing our national identity.”

“We are in the period of the 100th anniversary of the ominous Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration), which was created thanks to Jewish capital and the imperialistic wave rampant in that period, which acted freely with the inheritance of the sick man - as the Turkish Caliphate was called. I have very carefully followed the conferences that were held almost simultaneously in Tehran and Istanbul… and both of them, the Shi’ite one in Tehran and the Sunni one in Istanbul, attempted to play the Palestinian card, while the Palestinian people stands united and is not at all interested in these conferences.”

Al-Za'anoun emphasized in the Palestine speech at the Sixth Support for the Resolve of the Palestinian People Conference (sic., the Support for the Palestinian Intifada Conference) that is convening today (Tuesday) [Feb. 21, 2017] in Tehran, the capital of Iran, that our people – in all of its cities, villages, and refugee camps – defends not only the sites that are holy to the Muslims and Christians, but also the honor of this nation.
He emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause for the Arabs, Muslims, and free people of the world until the Palestinian people succeeds in liberating its land and establishing its independent state, whose capital is Jerusalem. This is because there will be no security or peace in the region, or even in the entire world, without Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state…

Arab “experts” claim that Bible proves Israel is Palestinian; modern Israel is a “colonial” force planning to “Judaize the land”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 9, 2017
Headline: "Experts: The book ‘The Bible Proves that Palestine is Arab’ refutes the Israeli lies"

"Arab experts and researchers emphasized yesterday [Feb. 8, 2017] that the book ‘The Bible Proves that Palestine is Arab,' published by researcher Dua Al-Sharif, refutes all of the lies and false narratives that Israel has disseminated throughout recent decades in an attempt to prove the claims regarding 'what is called the Promised Land, the Judaization of Jerusalem, and the construction of the Temple on the ruins of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.'
These statements were made during a discussion about the book ‘The Bible Proves that Palestine is Arab’ at the international book fair in Cairo, with the participation of Secretary-General of the Arab League Sa'id Abu Ali, political analyst and researcher Dr. Sarkis Abu Zaid, and author of the book and expert on Israeli affairs Dua Al-Sharif. The Egyptian Middle East News Agency quoted Sa'id Abu Ali who said: 'The Israeli claims are based only on false claims and lies, and this is what the researcher has proven by examining the historical facts, that there is no promise, Promised [Land], or anything else, and it does not matter what they do, Palestine will remain Arab.'
Dr. Sarkis Abu Zaid noted that 'The conflict with Israel is cultural and military,' and that 'This book comes at a time when the colonialist states are struggling over the division of the region in order to create a new map that will first of all serve the West and Israel.' He added that Israel intentionally falsified history in order to erase the Palestinian identity, as the Israeli myth claims that the Bible is the spiritual father of modern culture, while everything that is written in it was taken and stolen from the Arab cultures, such as the ancient Egyptian culture, the Iraqi culture, and the Canaanite culture.

Headline: "Palestinian and international responses condemn the 'Settlement Regularization Law,' and calls to turn to the International Criminal Court"
"Fatah Central Committee member Dr. Nasser Al-Qidwa said that the Palestinian response to the Israeli law regarding settlement (i.e., the Regularization Law) that was recently ratified by the Israeli Parliament, needs to be through a comprehensive confrontation against the settlement colonialism. [This must be] a confrontation that will begin with the mobilization of the Palestinian masses in order to oppose settlement on the ground by boycotting work in the settlements, demonstrations, civil disobedience, boycotting settlement products, and all forms of struggle activity (i.e., including violence) on the ground, and afterwards to use the international tools at our disposal, such as the previous [UN] Security Council resolutions and the rulings of the [UN] International Court of Justice.”

Regularization Law - intended to validate and finalize registration of land in Judea and Samaria with the Civil Administration Authority for Government and Abandoned Property in cases where any private claimant makes claims to lands that were thought to be government land after communities have already been built on the land in good faith - i.e., without the knowledge that the land was privately-owned - or with government support. The law will do so by transferring use of the land to the community in question providing a mechanism to compensate claimants to ownership of the land if their claims are validated.
