Sultan Abu Al-Einein was a member of the Fatah Central committee from August 2009 until November 2016, when he was not reelected at the Seventh Fatah Conference. However, he remains a senior member of the Fatah party.

On May 2, 2013, PMW reported that Abbas advisor Sultan Abu Al-Einein glorified a murderer for killing an Israeli father of five. In response, five members of US Congress wrote a letter to Abbas demanding Abu Al-Einein be removed from office. Despite the letter, Abu Al-Einein was not removed from office at the time. On July 15, 2016, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on Abbas to fire Abu Al-Einein, citing PMW's documentation that Abu Al-Einein had said in an interview, "Every place you find an Israeli - slit his throat."

Palestinian National and Islamic Forces rejects US demand to fire Abbas advisor
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 25, 2013
On May 2, 2013, PMW reported that Abbas advisor Sultan Abu Al-Einein glorified a murderer who killed an Israeli father of five. In response, five members of US Congress wrote a letter to Abbas demanding Abu Al-Einein be removed from office.
“Yesterday [June 24, 2013] the [Palestinian] National and Islamic Forces… said they oppose the American Congress’ discussion and its demand that Fatah Central Committee member Sultan Abu Al-Einein be punished, and [they] relate to this matter most seriously. They perceived this as interference in internal Palestinian affairs and as reinforcing a blatant tendency to favor the occupation.”

Note: Sultan Abu Al-Einein is advisor to PA Chairman Abbas on NGOs and a member of Fatah Central Committee. Despite the letter from the Congressmen, Al-Einein was not removed from office.
PA daily responds to PMW bulletin exposing Abbas advisor glorifying a murderer

On May 2, 2013, advisor to Abbas Sultan Abu Al-Einein glorified a murderer who killed an Israeli father of five. In response, five members of US Congress wrote a letter to Abbas demanding Abu Al-Einein be removed from office. However, Abbas did not do so.
Op-ed by regular columnist Hafez Al-Barghouti for PA daily,
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
“[American] Congress members are demanding the expulsion of Fatah Central Committee member Sultan Abu Al-Einein because he visited the home of a young man accused of killing a settler. Likewise, Israel and its media are attacking [Secretary General of the Presidential Office] Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim because after meeting a Russian official in Bethlehem he visited the home of a woman who has Elephantiasis in her leg, and it turned out that she is prisoner Issa Abd Rabbo’s mother. The Israeli media launched an attack against President Mahmoud Abbas and described him as the greatest supporter of terror and terrorists. The Israeli public diplomacy machine ignores daily crimes committed by settlers and the occupation forces’ crimes against children – as reported by the UN… It is assisted by the Israeli lobby in Congress that has become accustomed to being more Israeli than the Israelis and more occupying than the occupation.”

Note: Issa Abd Rabbo killed two Israeli university students, Ron Levi and Revital Seri, who were hiking south of Jerusalem. At gunpoint he tied them up, put bags over their heads and then shot and murdered both. He is serving two life sentences in an Israeli prison.

US request that Al-Einein be fired for glorifying murder is “cowboy logic devoid of diplomatic tact”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 17, 2013
On May 2, 2013, Abbas’ advisor Sultan Abu Al-Einein glorified a murderer who killed an Israeli father of five. In response, five members of US Congress wrote a letter to Abbas demanding Abu Al-Einein be removed from office. The following is a response to the US demand by Adel Abd Al-Rahman, regular columnist for the official PA daily:
“The American government’s request that the Palestinian leadership ‘dismiss’ brother fighter Sultan Abu Al-Einein from Fatah’s Central Committee is nothing more than the continuation of that same domineering conduct that is completely at odds with the language of political and diplomatic etiquette. This interferes in Palestinian internal, political and partisan affairs, and disregards all values of diplomacy…
What Al-Einein did doesn’t matter. The American government is not allowed to interfere in internal Palestinian affairs while the Palestinian leadership labors day and night for peace…
The USA would not allow anyone to interfere in its policy and internal measures and therefore the USA is not allowed to interfere in internal Palestinian affairs.
Yes, the leadership and people are largely in favor of peace. Yes, we are a small nation under Israeli occupation aspiring and striving to win independence, freedom, self-determination and to ensure the right of return. Yes, we want the support of the USA and the world’s peace forces, including Israeli peace forces– but this doesn’t mean that we will turn a blind eye to American or Israeli humiliation or humiliation by any other party. The American logic, the cowboy logic devoid of political and diplomatic tact, is unacceptable.”
Fatah is “the movement of armed struggle”

From the Facebook page of Sultan Abu Al-Einein, advisor to PA Chairman Abbas on NGOs and member of Fatah Central Committee:
“The Fatah movement is not only Palestine’s National Liberation Movement –
It is also the movement of heroes, revolutionaries, fighters, Martyrs (Shahids), wounded and detainees.
The Fatah movement is the movement of combat and armed struggle.
It is the movement of the people, the movement of honor, the movement of freedom.
It is the movement of resolve in the face of tyrants and oppressors.
It is the movement that will restore our beloved land to us.
It is the movement that will restore honor and freedom to the people.
The movement on whose principles we were educated.
It is the blood flowing in our veins.
This is the Fatah movement, in a nutshell.”
Congressional request that PA official who glorified terror be fired is "American arrogance"
Source: Website of Fatah in Lebanon, June 14, 2013
Headline: "Fatah's Lebanese branch rejects the American Congress' request to deport one of its leaders from Palestine"
"This request testifies to American arrogance, to the unqualified preference for the Zionist occupation, and the insistence to ignore the Palestinians' national rights and principles, to judge things always on the basis of the American-Israeli strategic alliance, and on protecting Israeli security.
We express our solidarity with Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the State of Palestine, and we declare before him that we are loyal soldiers on the way of the struggle that he is leading in the footsteps of the symbol Yasser Arafat. Similarly, we salute brother Sultan Abu Al-Einein, a member of the Fatah Central Committee who in the past led the [Fatah] movement in Lebanon. The brave and principled stands that brother Sultan Abu Al-Einein embodies are the least we can do to express our devotion to Palestine, to our people, to our cause, and to our revolution that will continue until victory."

On May 2, 2013, Abbas advisor Sultan Abu Al-Einein glorified a murderer who killed an Israeli father of five. In response to the international condemnation that ensued, Fatah official Abd Al-Sattar Awwad defended Al-Einein:
Headline: “Fatah’s Salfit branch: ‘All fighters and free men are Sultan Abu Al-Einein’”
“[Secretary of Fatah’s Salfit branch] Abd Al-Sattar Awwad declared: ‘Sultan Abu Al-Einein’s positions and statements express what every citizen and [what] every free and honorable person thinks, and they represent the position of the [Fatah] movement that rejects [the legitimacy] of settlers and occupation. This is consistent with all international laws that do not recognize the legitimacy of the settlements that sit heavily on our chests.”

Abu Al-Einein views US demand that he be fired for glorifying a murderer as “insolence”

On May 2, 2013, Abbas advisor Sultan Abu Al-Einein glorified a murderer who killed an Israeli father of five. In response, five members of US Congress wrote a letter to Abbas demanding Abu Al-Einein be removed from office.
Headline: “Sultan Abu Al-Einein sees the American request to dismiss him from Fatah as ‘insolence’”
"In response to a letter sent by the American administration… to the office of the President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, that demanded that Fatah Central Committee Member Sultan Abu Al-Einein be fired following his visit to the home of the Palestinian Al-Zaghal family whose son had killed a settler… Abu Al-Einein issued a press release that said: ‘It is shameful that the American administration sees a problem in Sultan Abu Al-Einein’s visiting a family living in conditions not fit for human beings… The Israeli occupation is responsible for the settler’s death since by numerous ways and means it is determined to entrap Salam’s brother in the web of collaboration… Therefore, it is natural that Salam should take revenge on the occupation that had attempted to taint this family’s honor… (Al-Einein claimed that Israel had tried to recruit the murderer’s brother). [...] The legitimate international resolutions grant the right to resist the occupier to any nation whose land has been occupied. We are implementing the legitimate international resolutions relevant to our Palestinian land, since it is the right of any nation to resist occupation by all means of resistance. We will not be silent in light of these organized crimes against the Palestinian people."

Abbas stands by PA official who glorified a murderer, despite letter from US Congressmen
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, June 12, 2013
On May 2, 2013, Abbas advisor Sultan Abu Al-Einein glorified a murderer who killed an Israeli father of five. In response, five members of US Congress wrote a letter to Abbas demanding Abu Al-Einein be removed from office. Ma'an reports on the letter and on Abbas' response:
"In a letter [to Mahmoud Abbas], the American Congress demanded that the Palestinian Authority deport Sultan Abu Al-Einein, the Head of the Non-Governmental Organizations Authority, and President Mahmoud Abbas's advisor for local authorities. This was done after his recent statements were described [by Congress] as incitement against Israel.
Abu Al-Einein's bureau chief, Raafat Alayan, told Ma'an that American Congress sent an official letter protesting Abu Al-Einein's visit to the family of the person who carried out the operation at the Za'atara check-point south of Nablus during which a settler was killed.
He went on to say that the Americans documented Abu Al-Einein's statements that called for the killing of settlers and for struggle, and demanded that the Palestinian Authority expel him from Fatah and banish him from the Palestinian territories to a foreign country.
Alayan stressed that President Mahmoud Abbas and the PA responded to the letter with a letter [of their own] in which it was emphasized that Sultan Abu Al-Einein is the chosen leader of a major organization, and that he is a PA employee working in the Fatah movement."

He made it clear that he would not leave.
Abu Al-Einein said in an announcement to the news agency: 'The American Congress has demanded that the Palestinian leadership deport me from Palestine following my visit to the home of the family of 24 year-old As'ad Muhammad Zaghal from the Tulkarem suburb of Shweikeh, who killed an Israeli settler at the Al-Za'atara military checkpoint on April 30, 2013. [Congress] saw this as inciting to murder settlers.'
He added: 'It is unfortunate that the American government sees only with one eye. It sees Sultan Abu Al-Einein visiting a disabled family, but it doesn't see the organized crimes that settlers and occupation's soldiers commit against the Palestinian people.'"

Fatah official: Israel "is not worthy of having a homeland" or "a place on earth"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 18, 2011
PA TV live broadcast of third day of Palestine Popular Resistance Conference. Live broadcast from town Budrus in Ramallah district close to the security fence. Panel on national unity and popular resistance.
Member of the Fatah Central Committee, Sultan Abu Al-Einein, calls the Palestinian people to take part in the popular resistance and says:

"We must change the foundations of the conflict with this evil enemy, and I say that I have no fear of condemnation and criticism when it comes to Allah, because a nation whose land is occupied and who relinquishes resistance in all its forms, styles and manners – I say that this nation that relinquishes its elementary rights to all forms, styles and manners of resistance, is not worthy of having a homeland and is not worthy of having a place on earth. We must inculcate resistance in all its forms in every region, especially as we are situated just a few meters from our land, from the land of our ancestors, which was occupied in 1948."
