PA opens photo exhibition of terrorists of 2016 terror wave, PA officials glorify “unjustly executed” “heroes”
Headline: “Every Martyr Has a Life – photo exhibit at Bil’in”
“Chairman of the [PA] Committee Against the Wall and Settlements Minister Walid Assaf inaugurated an exhibit of photos of Martyrs (Shahids) titled Every Martyr Has a Life in the village of Bil’in, west of Ramallah.
In honor of the seventh anniversary of the death as a Martyr of the popular resistance activist Bassem Abu Rahma, photos of all of the Martyrs who have died in the latest popular uprising (i.e., wave of Palestinian terror attacks) were displayed, accompanied by an explanation of their lives and the circumstances of their death as Martyrs.
Ramallah and El-Bireh District Governor Laila Ghannam, [PLO] Executive Committee member Abd Al-Rahim Malouh, Martyr Baha Alyan’s father, relatives of the Martyrs, dignitaries, and many residents of the village of Bil’in participated in the inauguration.
[PA] Committee Against the Wall and Settlements Minister Walid] Assaf said that this exhibit documents one of the chapters of Palestinian history, the chapter of the Martyrs of the latest popular uprising. He added: ‘Through this exhibit, we wanted to create documentation of our Martyrs, who were unjustly executed. (The “Martyrs” include terrorists who attacked Israelis and were killed during their attacks –Ed.) The occupation wants to break the Martyrs’ will power, but in this exhibit we commemorate the Martyrs’ human lives, because we are not just numbers; every Martyr has ambitions, a dream, and a goal, but the occupation has snatched this dream away in cold blood.’ Assaf noted that the photo exhibit Every Martyr Has a Life will be passed on to all of the districts, including the universities. He said that in addition to this, a book will be written about the lives of the Martyrs, in order to commemorate them and to pass the message of these Martyrs to all parts of the homeland, in order to continue their path of struggle to end the occupation.
Ghannam said: ‘The pictures today tell the details of the Martyrs’ lives in human moments, and we face the greatness of those who sacrificed their blood in order to obtain freedom for this land.' …She added that the exhibit proves to the entire world that our Martyrs are heroes, that we are proud of them, and that they are not just numbers. She noted that the idea that this exhibit will travel throughout the homeland in itself constitutes a reinforcement of the idea of loyalty to the Martyrs in the hearts of the children, young, adults, and every Palestinian, wherever they are.
Martyr Baha Alyan’s father said: ‘The Martyrs were never numbers. They are human beings and heroes, and every Martyr has a story, history, and achievements.'”
Jerusalem line 78 bus terror attack - On Oct. 13, 2015, two Palestinian terrorists, Baha Alyan (22) and Bilal Ghanem (23) boarded a bus in Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood with a gun and a knife and attacked passengers, killing Israelis Haviv Haim (78) and Alon Govberg (51), and Richard Lakin (76), and wounding 3 Israelis. Alyan was shot and killed by an Israeli security guard at the scene and Ghanem, a Hamas terrorist who served time in Israeli prison in 2013-2014, was wounded.
