Abbas in letter to Putin: Israeli “pay-for-slay” law is meant to prevent PA from “fulfilling its obligations to the families of the prisoners and Martyrs, who struggled for the freedom of their people… and who are worthy of all aid”

“PLO Executive Committee member and Fatah Movement Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad received Russian Ambassador to the State of Palestine Aydar Aganin at his office in Ramallah yesterday [Feb. 23, 2019].
Al-Ahmad gave the Russian ambassador a written letter from [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas for [Russian] President Vladimir Putin. The letter deals with the recent developments and the cutting of part of the tax money by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s government (refers to implementation of law to deduct terrorist salaries from the PA tax money; see note below –Ed.) in a way that contradicts the economic Paris Agreement (see note below –Ed.) that was signed between the two sides – a step that contradicts international laws and that is meant to blackmail the Palestinian leadership and exert pressure on it, in order to prevent it from fulfilling its obligations to the families of the prisoners and Martyrs (Shahids), who struggled for the freedom of their people and the end of the occupation, and who are worthy of all aid – regardless of the difficulties and pressures.”

That being said, this allocation has not been harmed.’”

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has planned and carried out numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians since its founding in 1967 and throughout the Palestinian terror campaign between 2000- 2005 (the Intifada).

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.” In 1922, the League of Nations adopted this and made the British Mandate “responsible for putting into effect the declaration,” which led to the UN vote in 1947 and the establishment of the State of Israel.

Al-Ahmad added today [Aug. 19, 2015], Wednesday, during his visit to the house of condolences of the Martyr Al-Atras in Kafr Ra’i in the Jenin district, that the killing of Al-Atras is an atrocious crime, and that all of Israel’s attempts to erase it or mislead international public opinion with its false claims will not succeed.”

Muhammad Bassam Abu Amsheh Al-Atras stabbed an Israeli border policeman on Aug. 17, 2015, at the Tapuach checkpoint, and was shot and killed.
PA daily: Abbas refused to not form government with Hamas when asked by the Americans
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 27, 2015
Headline: “Azzam Al-Ahmad, in charge of the [Hamas-Fatah] reconciliation: Hamas does not want to end the rift”
From an interview with Fatah Central Committee Member Azzam Al-Ahmad, who is in charge of the reconciliation with Hamas, to the official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
“Three days after we received the Egyptian document (i.e., the reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas, under Egyptian patronage), US Senator George Mitchell phoned. This was at 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2009. He started speaking in a most honorable, polite manner. I remember he began by saying: ‘Mr. President, [US] President Obama and the US government respect you, and we request that you not send a representative on your behalf to Cairo to sign the document.’ Later, Mitchel shifted to a threatening language and said: ‘We, the government, cannot control Congress, which threatens to halt aid to the Palestinian Authority if you sign the document with Hamas.’
President Mahmoud Abbas responded immediately: ‘Mr. Mitchel, the unity of our people means more than the satisfaction of Congress, and all the money in the world.’”
Fatah official: "We haven't abandoned our strategy... of armed struggle... but the current stage is of peaceful resistance and negotiations"
Source: Al-Jazeera, May 1, 2014
Al-Jazeera interviewed Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad
Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad: : “We in the Fatah movement haven’t abandoned our strategy, through which we taught the parties of the region – all the parties of the region – the meaning of armed struggle.”
Interviewer: “[So] this reconciliation [between Fatah and Hamas] and this agreement don’t clash with the issue of Fatah having chosen the path of reconciliation and Hamas, the path of struggle? will you not argue about this issue?”
Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad: “No, no. First of all, brother Ahmed, the current facts are: In the National Reconciliation Document of 2006, we agreed to the Arab Peace Initiative, and to a state within the June 4, [1967] borders, and Hamas signed it.... We began discussing peaceful popular resistance, for the time being. Even after Oslo, we engaged in armed struggle with Israel. Have we forgotten that in the Al-Aqsa Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005), over 4,000 Martyrs (Shahids) fell – most of them from among the [PA] security personnel? Have we forgotten this?”
Interviewer: “Meaning, Fatah hasn’t ruled out the option of armed resistance?”
Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad: “No. We haven’t ruled it out. Read our charter – we haven’t ruled it out, but the current stage is the stage of peaceful resistance and negotiations. If we are forced to return to the other forms [of struggle] – to violence and so on – Israel will be responsible for that – since it didn’t abide by what it had signed – and the United States, which favored Israel and shirked the decisions of the international institutions.”

Fatah official claims active PA involvement in second Intifada
Source: Jordanian TV, Dec. 27, 2013
Interview with Fatah Central Committee Member Azzam Al-Ahmad on Jordan TV’s Third Opinion program.
Al-Ahmad: “Armed operations serve the negotiations. All freedom movements end up sitting at the negotiating table.”
Host: “In other words, you – the Palestinian Authority – don’t oppose armed resistance to the occupation?”
Al-Ahmad: “Certainly not. It is the PLO, not the [Palestinian] Authority, who is in charge of the negotiations… In ’82, they wanted to eliminate the Palestinian revolution. After ’82,
they didn’t [succeed], and the [armed] operations continued – albeit on a lower scale… We moved away from the border. The first Intifada (i.e. the first Palestinian wave of violence against Israel, 1988-1993) was born in ’87 and did wonders, and in its wake, in ’88, came the declaration of independence. (i.e., when Arafat declared Palestinian independence in Algeria).
Therefore, the struggle and the operations continued. We came to Oslo, even in Oslo, even after Oslo, [in] the ‘Prisoners’ Intifada’… Martyrs (Shahids) were killed. Operations did not stop. And because of Israel – the Tunnel Intifada, the excavations under the Al-Aqsa Mosque – the Palestinian people rose up and there were military confrontations. Afterwards, after the failure of the second Camp David [summit], (sic; should be Arafat, Ed.) told Clinton: ‘We will never give up Jerusalem and the right of the refugees. Before I sign, you’ll see my funeral in Palestine.’ Then came the Al-Aqsa Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign, 2000-2005) in which Martyrs. So the resistance does not stop.”

Fatah official propagates libel that Israel wants to rule “from the Nile to the Euphrates”
Source: Official PA TV Live, Jan. 4, 2013
Azzam Al-Ahmad, a member of Fatah’s Central Committee, spoke on a PA TV Live broadcast from a Jordanian celebration of Fatah Day.
Azzam Al-Ahmad: “Our campaign against the Zionists was not a Palestinian-Israeli campaign, but rather an Arab campaign against the forces of old-style colonialism and the Zionist dream, [a campaign] that aimed to defend the entire Arab region. We, as Palestinians, remain the spearhead, and we were never anything else… We defended Lebanon, we defended Medina. Do we not know that they (i.e., the Jews) dream of a state reaching from the Nile to the Euphrates? ...We say to our brothers who do not grasp the reality of the situation (lit. 'who have been struck by color blindness'): ‘We are involved in a campaign of the entire Arab nation. We aren’t in a campaign that is Palestine’s alone. This puts us all in the same trench.’”
Fatah official: The PA "continues in the path" of terrorist Abu Jihad, "the Prince of Martyrs"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 23, 2012
"Member of the Fatah Central Committee, Azzam Al-Ahmad, said that if Israel continues to maintain its positions rejecting our people's rights, all options – including the armed struggle – are open to us. He added, 'The Fatah movement, which has engaged in the armed struggle since the start of its activity, is ready to return to that option if Israel continues to deny the rights of the Palestinian people - but within the framework of national consensus regarding the use of the armed struggle approach, far removed from conflicts and opportunism.'… He emphasized: 'The Palestinian authority continues in the path of the Martyrs (Shahids) – the prince of Martyrs, Abu Jihad, and the master of Martyrs, Yasser Arafat. We shall fight the occupation through more activity on the ground, and our message to the occupation is that this is our land, and that we will establish more projects on it. This land is ours, it will be ours alone, and the occupation will disappear.'"

Note: Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks, including the most lethal in Israeli history, the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
PA Chairman Abbas supports Sudanese president accused of Darfur genocide
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Nov. 28, 2010
In addition to glorifying Palestinian terrorists, Mahmoud Abbas, recently glorified the Sudanese President, who is under indictment for genocide and war crimes connected to the slaughter of 2 million in Darfur.
Azzam Al-Ahmad, member of Fatah Central Committee:

"President Abbas's letter says that the Palestinian people and its leadership stand side by side with the brother country Sudan, and that they have complete faith in the wisdom of President Omar Al-Bashir in coping with these dangers. We emphasize our complete willingness to stand with Sudan in everything it wants and in the way it wants, in order to support the unity of the land of Sudan and its people."
