PA Minister of Religious Affairs: Palestinians will “continue to carry out unceasing Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque… until the occupation passes"

Headline: "Ida'is condemned the Israeli attacks against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its guards"
"The honorable [PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is condemned the fact that the occupation authorities yesterday [July 28, 2016] distanced a number of [Jordanian Waqf] guards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and demanded that the Arab and Islamic world act seriously and responsibly to end the violations that are being carried out against them, against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and against the holy city... Likewise, he noted that as is its habit, the occupation is intentionally working to clear the Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas and [remove] those carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) within it, and to prevent them from entering it, and it is punishing them by all possible means. He emphasized that our people will continue to carry out unceasing Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque... and will continue to be rooted in its Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rest of its land until the occupation passes."

This division will not erase its sanctity, and the policy of expulsion and Judaization being carried out by the occupation will also not succeed, as our honorable messenger [Muhammad] taught us how to adhere to our rights and protect them by preparation and great resolve… Likewise, he emphasized that the Ibrahimi Mosque will remain an entirely Islamic mosque, including all its plazas and sections, and the Jews have no connection to it, and all the measures the occupation is taking against it are invalid.”

"[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is and Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories Sheikh Muhammad Hussein warned of the danger in the sharp rise in the rate of invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza during the blessed month of Ramadan.
These statements were made during the meeting of the minister of religious affairs with the mufti in the Ministry of Religious Affairs' headquarters.
The two emphasized that the dangerous Israeli plots against Jerusalem – that are increasing and are expressed in the continuation of their attempts to interfere in the matters of Jerusalem's Noble Sanctuary (i.e., Temple Mount), with intensive excavations under the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the pretext of searching for alleged remains, and in the widespread settlement plans in Jerusalem – are nothing but an attempt to change the status quo at Jerusalem's Noble Sanctuary."

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

Ida'is said that the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza is a completely Islamic site, and it is our right to pray at it and to enter and exit it any time we wish, and that the occupation has no ties to it."

“Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida’is said that the United Nations Educational Scientific, Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO’s) decision to use the term ‘Al-Aqsa’ and reject [the term] ‘Temple Mount’ constitutes a victory for religious and historical legitimacy… He added that there is not a city in Palestine that is exempt from the Israeli attacks against Palestinian antiquities, and especially Jerusalem, which is the cradle of the prophets and Palestian Arab Islamic territory. This is because the occupation is trying to change the demographic signs and the Palestinian signs of the land by daily raids and invasions and an increase in settlement, and it is not satisfied with this, but also tries to steal the heritage of our antiquities… Minister Ida’is said that Palestine is present in all areas and places, as it is an ancient state, and it has antiquities and historical cities that verify its ‘Arabness’… However, Allah wanted it to be under Israeli occupation, which always acts to falsify and change its [Palestine’s] signs and history and to steal its heritage and antiquities, ‘and not only them, but also our Palestinian customs, traditions, and food, which the occupation displays in international exhibitions as Israeli food.’”

"Division according to areas and times" refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount. The law seeks to designate separate prayer times and areas of the site for Muslims and Jews. Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is, says that Israel wants to destroy the Al-Aqsa [Mosque], and that it sent Denis Rohan in 1969 to burn down the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is: “Ever since Israel occupied the eastern part of the holy city [Jersualem], it has been trying to take over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and destroy it in order to establish its alleged Temple in its place. It [Israel] sent, I repeat sent, either knowingly or according to its plans, the criminal who set the Al-Aqsa Mosque on fire in 1969, the damage of which to Al-Aqsa is evident until now, as the walls on the holy plaza in Jerusalem are cracked and heavily damaged, and signs of the fire are visible to the eye until today.”

Michael Denis William Rohan - deranged Australian Christian who set fire to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in 1969. For years, the Palestinian Authority has falsely accused Israel of setting the fire.

Below is the content of the interview:

[Interviewer
:] 'What about the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the threats it is experiencing?'
[Ida’is:] 'Jerusalem needs a lot and is in danger, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque is in danger. I attest before you that every Palestinian will forego his right to life in order to protect the holy sites and the honor of the Arab and Islamic nation...'
[Interviewer:] 'What about your visit to Egypt, and what did you conclude with the religious authorities?'
[Ida’is:] 'I visited some of the religious authorities in Al-Azhar, Dar Alaftaa, (i.e., the central authority for Fatwahs), and the seat of the head of the Sharifs (i.e., descendants of the Prophet Muhammad), and they all agreed unanimously that there will be practical, real, serious actions in the field in order to aid Jerusalem and its residents in their resolve and their resistance to the occupation, and in preventing the evil plot to Judaize the holy city and establish the alleged Temple in place of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.'”

PA Minister of Religion: Cave of the Patriarchs is only Islamic

“[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is… stressed that the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) is purely an Islamic mosque, with all its parts, and no one else is connected to it. Likewise, he emphasized that all measures taken against it are null and inacceptable…
Ida’is stated that the occupation is striving to forcibly impose an Israeli hegemony on the mosque and convert it into a Jewish synagogue, and called to visit it, to carry out continuous Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) in it, and to prevent the occupation and its arms from harming it."

Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 4, 2015
Headline: “Ida’is: ‘The daily actions of the occupation at the Al-Aqsa [Mosque] are preparing the ground for its takeover”
“[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is called attention to the danger of the recurring calls by extremist Jews to carry out extensive invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque… in order to give it, and all its parts, a Jewish Talmudic character. He stated that the occupation no longer hides its policy and daily activities to Judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque, so that public opinion will get used to their [the Jews’] presence on the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza and inside it [the Mosque], as if they are an authentic part of the place. This is in order to lessen the shock and pain of what the future holds … Ida’is stated that in a new step in the Judaization [process], the occupation will ask its Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organize visits for high-ranking officials to the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount), accompanied by a series of media and propagandist deceptions and lies, which it will distribute worldwide, in order to attack the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ribat fighters (Murabitin - those carrying out Ribat, religious conflict/war to protect land claimed to be Islamic -Ed). One [deception] is that Al-Aqsa stands on the Jewish Temple, which needs to be rebuilt, and [another goal is to] mislead world opinion [with the claim] that the Muslims enjoy freedom of worship while the Jews do not.”

PA Minister of Religious Affairs: Israel’s goal is destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, building the alleged Temple, and inciting religious war in the Middle East
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 26, 2015

PA Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is:
"The Israeli occupation’s goal is to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque using rabbis and groups of extremist Jews, and to establish the alleged Temple in its place... Israel challenges and provokes the feelings of Arabs and Muslims. When Israel attacks the places holy to Islam and Christianity - and even trees, stones, or the dead are not safe from these attacks - it essentially wants to incite a religious war in the entire Middle East region. It strives for religious war, and it is the one adding fuel to the flames... I say to the patient and resolute Palestinian people, and to the people of Jerusalem who are protecting the holy places: Feel good about the honor [of carrying] Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war to protect land claimed to be Islamic)."

Palestine this Morning hosted PA Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is.
Topic: The restrictions Israel places on the entry of Muslims from the West Bank into Jerusalem
PA Minister of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is: ”Indeed, the Israeli establishment insists on carrying out its evil plan to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged Temple. This is [done] by establishing facts on the ground, for the Muslims, so they will accept the inevitability of the situation. Every month there are invasions. Last month, there were more than 184 invasions into places of worship, and especially into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque [plaza] (i.e., the Temple Mount), as the Israeli establishment allows the herds of settlers to enter the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque [plaza] daily - which provokes the feelings of Muslims - under protection of the Israeli occupation police.”
