PLO official: “The right-wing Zionist establishment is driven by greed and love of collecting money”

“The director of the culture and information department of the PLO Executive Committee, Hanan Ashrawi, emphasized on Tuesday [Jan. 6, 2015] that the Palestinian cause was heading in the legal and international direction… In an interview with the Ma’an [independent Palestinian] news agency, Ashrawi emphasized… that: ‘The lawsuit filed by one of the Israeli organizations against three Palestinian political personalities was an attempt to intimidate the Palestinian leadership. This is part of the modus operandi of the right-wing Zionist establishment, which is driven by greed and the love of collecting money and compensation.’…
Ashrawi noted that the lawsuit filed by the Israeli Shurat HaDin [organization] is added to [a list of] several lawsuits filed by the same organization, and that it continually demands compensation, which constitutes the essence of its work. In addition, she emphasized that the Palestinian leadership is not worried by this lawsuit, since the charge is absolutely unconvincing, since it accuses three Palestinian politicians of responsibility for the rocket fire from the Gaza Strip – proof that the lawsuit is not serious.”

Note: The lawsuit referred to was filed against PA PM Rami Hamdallah, Deputy Secretary of Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rajoub and Head of PA General Intelligence Majed Faraj for alleged war crimes, terrorism and violations of human rights.
