Palestinian center in London: Britain should apologize for Balfour Declaration

“The Palestinian Return Center in London announced that it is organizing a seminar at British Parliament on the 96th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, which was issued on November 2 [1917], as part of the international campaign that bears the slogan ‘Britain It’s Time to Apologize.’
The meeting will take place Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 in Portcullis House, in the Wilson room of the British Parliament. Speakers at the seminar [will include] Palestinian Ambassador to Britain Dr. Manuel Hassassian and several British politicians who supported and signed the campaign manifesto; and they are: Member of Parliament Jeremy Corbyn, members of the British House of Lords, Baroness Jenny Tonge and Lord Nazir Ahmed and others.
In addition, the campaign [organizers] will be represented at the meeting by the coordinator of the campaign in Europe and head of the media department at the Palestinian Return Center [PRC] Sameh Habeeb. It should be noted that the international campaign demanding an apology from Britain will run for five years and aspires to collect one million signatures by the hundredth anniversary of the ominous Balfour Declaration.”

Note: The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
