PA daily op-ed glorifies terrorist Abu Jihad and his attacks, including the "Dalal Mughrabi operation" that killed 37 and Savoy attack that killed 11

Op-ed by Fatah Central Committee Member and Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China Abbas Zaki

Headline: “Abu Jihad – the legend of the memory, and memories of the generations and the revolution”
“Abu Jihad was a highly discerning fighter, who turned the revolution into a goal, who caused the occupation great concern and made it lose sleep when things became complex, and he became an inspiration, beginning with the first bullet, through the Al-Karameh battle, and ending with the first Intifada of 1987 (i.e., Palestinian wave of violence and terror against Israel, 1987-1993).
When Abu Jihad is mentioned, the [pages of] the diaries turn over and there are hardly any stories without the commander’s spirit blended into them – there Dalal Mughrabi’s heroic operation (i.e., terror attack, 37 murdered) shattered the walls, and in Tel Aviv they beat on the doors of the occupation army’s Ministry [of Defense] with the Ataviros ship (i.e., a ship carrying terrorists from Egypt to Israel who were planning to attack the Defense Ministry building in Tel Aviv) that was on its way to carry out an abduction and negotiate from a position of power in 1985. The revolution was ignited, the occupation was humiliated, and fear spread among its ranks. The so-called ‘undefeatable army’ was defeated through quality operations (i.e., terror attacks) carried out by courageous Fatah members, such as the Savoy operation in Tel Aviv (i.e., terror attack in March 1975, 11 murdered)…
On the anniversary of the death of the Prince of Martyrs [Abu Jihad], who headed the school of entrenchment in the trench of basic principles, his words come to me and beat at my ears – the intifada is a permanent decision and a daily act reflecting the rootedness of the Palestinian people and its renewed historic continuity, no voice is louder than the voice of the intifada and the occupation’s fate will be determined on the ground of Palestine alone.”

The Karameh battle, or Al-Karameh - On March 21, 1968, Israeli army forces attacked the town of Karameh in Jordan, where Fatah terrorists had been launching attacks on Israel. Although Israel prevailed militarily, Arafat used the event for propaganda purposes, declaring the battle a great victory that erased the disgrace of the 1967 Six Day War defeat.

Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks. These attacks, which killed a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children

Savoy terror attack - In March 1975, eight terrorists traveled by boat from Lebanon to a Tel Aviv beach. They took over the Savoy Hotel and took guests as hostages. The next morning, Israeli forces attacked and killed seven of the terrorists. Eight hostages and three soldiers were killed by the terrorists during the attack.
