Palestinians praise and glorify terrorists as “heroic Martyrs” at rally
Official PA TV, on protests after terrorist murderer Ashraf Na’alwa was killed while resisting arrest
Official PA TV reporter: “The Tulkarem district, which has suffered before from the occupation’s arbitrary operations, woke up this time to news of the Martyrdom-death (Istish'had) of the wanted one Ashraf Na’alwa (i.e., terrorist, murdered 2) from the Shweikeh suburb of Tulkarem, whom the occupation’s special forces encountered in the Askar Al-Jadid refugee camp in Nablus. The general strike [that followed] included all of the stores in the district, while processions went out to condemn the assassination of young Na’alwa.”
Man in procession: “From the early morning hours today [Dec. 13, 2018], the entire Palestinian people has woken up to news of the assassination of two heroic Martyrs (Shahids) (i.e., terrorists Na’alwa and Saleh Barghouti who were killed resisting arrest; see notes below) who carried out their national obligation for Palestine and Jerusalem. The entire public of the Tulkarem district has come out from their homes since early in the morning to say: ‘Millions of Martyrs are marching to Jerusalem’ (a famous quote by former PLO and PA Chairman Yasser Arafat –Ed.). This is the message of all of the Martyrs; this is the message of Yasser Arafat, may Allah have mercy on him.”
Reporter: “But when hundreds of members of our people came out in processions on foot or by car towards the home of Martyr Na’alwa’s family to express their support for the family, it was announced in the Tulkarem district that the occupation arrested most of [the family’s] sons while Israel has decided to demolish its home, after the [Israeli] Supreme Court rejected the lawyers’ petition to cancel the demolition decision.”
Man in front of the Na’alwa family home: “Of course, there is no doubt that this day – even though the separation from our son, heroic Martyr Ashraf Na’alwa, saddens our hearts and souls – is a day of pride for our Palestinian people, as a new one has been added to the chosen team of stars in this homeland’s sky, one of whom is Ashraf. For he has ascended [to Heaven] as a Martyr for the defense of Palestine, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Jerusalem.”
Barkan Industrial Zone Attack – 23-year-old Palestinian terrorist Ashraf Walid Suleiman Na’alwa shot and murdered his 2 Israeli coworkers Kim Levengrond-Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi in a factory in the Barkan Industrial Zone near Ariel on Oct. 7, 2018. Na'alwa fled the scene, but was located two months later in Nablus and shot and killed in a shootout when the Israeli army and police tried to apprehend him on Dec. 13, 2018. The Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas' military wing) claimed responsibility for the attack.
Until this attack, the Barkan Industrial Zone had been an example of coexistence with Israelis and Palestinians working together.
Ofra shooting attack – Palestinian terrorists shot and wounded 7 Israelis - a pregnant woman, her husband, another man, and 4 teenagers - in a drive-by shooting attack next to Ofra, north of Jerusalem, on Dec. 9, 2018. The pregnant woman was severely wounded and doctors had to deliver her baby prematurely before operating on her. The baby died three days later. The terrorists fled the scene but were located three days later. One terrorist, Saleh Omar Saleh Barghouti, was shot and killed by the Israeli army during the attempt to apprehend him, while other terrorists were taken into custody. The Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas' military wing) claimed responsibility for the attack.
Yasser Arafat – Founder of the PLO and Fatah, former chairman of the PA. During the 1960s, 70s and 80s Arafat was behind numerous terror attacks against Israelis. Although he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 together with then Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and then Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Shimon Peres “for their efforts to create peace in the Middle East" after signing the Oslo Accords peace agreement, Arafat launched a 5-year terror campaign - the second Intifada (2000-2005) – in which more than 1,000 Israelis were murdered. Arafat died of an illness in 2004.
