PA depicts a world without Israel
Future: A world without Israel
PA depicts a world without Israel
The Palestinian Authority makes no attempt to educate its people towards peace and coexistence with Israel. On the contrary, from every possible platform it repeatedly rejects Israel's right to exist, presents the conflict as a religious battle for Islam, depicts the establishment of Israel as an act of imperialism, and perpetuates a picture of the Middle East, both verbally and visually, in which Israel does not exist at all. Israel's destruction is said to be both inevitable and a Palestinian obligation.

The following description of Israel's founding in a Palestinian schoolbook represents the dominant dogma about Israel:

"Palestine’s war ended with a catastrophe that is unprecedented in history, when the Zionist gangs stole Palestine … and established the so-called State of Israel."
[Arabic Language, Analysis, Literature and Criticism, grade 12, p. 104]

This official PA map of "Palestine” was broadcast on PA TV in September 2011. The map includes both the PA areas and all of Israel (excluding the Golan Heights) wrapped in the Palestinian flag - a symbol of Palestinian sovereignty over the whole area - and has a key through it, symbolizing ownership. Similar maps presenting all of Israel as "Palestine" appear in Palestinian schoolbooks and are shown regularly on PA TV.
Future: A world without Israel
The PA promises its people that in the future, the State of Israel will be completely erased and replaced by a State of Palestine. A Fatah member of Palestinian parliament, Najat Abu Bakr, told PA TV that the PA supports and adopts the “stages plan.” To the world, the PA claims that the Palestinians seek the West Bank and Gaza Strip, when in fact the goal is all of Israel: “It doesn’t mean that we don’t want the 1948 borders, but in our current political program we say we want a state on the 1967 borders.” [PA TV (Fatah), Aug. 25, 2008]

Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki reiterated this position on Al-Jazeera TV:
“It is impossible to realize the inspiring idea or the great goal in one stroke… Israel will come to an end… If I say that I want to remove it from existence, this will be great, great, [but] it is hard. This is not a [stated] policy. You can't say it to the world. You can say it to yourself.” [Al-Jazeera TV, Sept. 23, 2011]

The following words from a song on official PA TV, which started to appear in 2012, expresses longing for the day that Jaffa, Acre, Haifa and the Galilee, all in Israel, will be part of “my country” (“Palestine”) where all cities would be accessible "with no borders":
"I wish I could enter my country with no borders...
I will go about in Bethlehem and in Al-Aqsa [Mosque], which is held captive...
I do not forget Jenin or Nablus, and the Galilee
I do not forget you, Jaffa…
To Jerusalem, to Ramle, to Acre, to Haifa, oh Lord...
I wish I could enter my country with no borders." [PA TV (Fatah), Feb. 9, 2012]

The PA’s using culture to long for the destruction of Israel is not new. Many examples can be seen in this section below, including a music video, which aired on official PA TV from 2007 – 2009 and promises the liberation of “Palestine,” listing numerous Israeli cities as “Palestine”:
"We will liberate the Land of the religions … Palestine is Arab in history and identity… From Jerusalem and Acre, from Haifa and Jericho and Gaza and Ramallah, from Bethlehem and Jaffa, Be'er Sheba and Ramle, and from Nablus to the Galilee, from Tiberias to Hebron.”

Finally, the newest PA schoolbooks teach that "Palestine will be liberated by its men, its women, its young ones and its elderly." [Arabic Language and the Science of Language, grade 12, p. 44]
Senior Palestinian official: "Allah will gather [the Israelis] so we can kill them"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Mar. 12, 2014

PA TV host: On the issue discussed in the media, that Netanyahu failed in his attempt to stir up the media around the so-called arms ship (Iranian shipment of arms to Gaza intercepted by Israel), and so he turned to the option of bloodshed, which explains the number of Martyrs (3 Islamic Jihad terrorists) who fell in 24 hours. In other words, he failed to draw the world's attention, and so resorted to the Israeli occupation's traditional method - killing Palestinians in order to provoke a hurried Palestinian reaction. How do you see this?

Member of Fatah Central Committee Abbas Zaki: Netanyahu went and provoked an uproar, like [when] he drew a nuclear bomb [and said] this is what Iran wants. He failed in the Iranian issue, and tried to improve his situation with the Palestinian issue... These Israelis have no belief, no principles. They are an advanced instrument of evil. They say, the Holocaust, and so on - fine, why are they doing this to us? Therefore, I believe that Allah will gather them so we can kill them. I am informing the murderer of his death.

PLO member: We will build Palestine “on all of the homeland’s territory”
Source: Al-Ayyam, Jan. 6, 2014
“[PLO Executive Committee member Saeb] Erekat spoke during a rally organized two days ago [Jan. 4, 2014] by the Fatah Movement, the [Palestinian] Prisoners’ Club and the [PA] Ministry of Prisoners’ [Affairs] in the Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley District to mark the 49th anniversary of ‘the Launch’ (Intilaqa) of the revolution and the beginning of the [Fatah] movement’s activities…
[Erekat] said: ‘Any self-respecting nation wages battles for its prisoner sons,’ and added: ‘Wait, Marwan Barghouti, Ahmad Sa’adat and the [rest of the] prisoners; the release is near. We will not rest until we see you free among your people, so that you will take up your roles in building the independent State of Palestine on all of the homeland’s territory.’”

Notes: Intilaqa - "the Launch" of Fatah. Refers to the day of Fatah's first terror attack against Israel in 1965 when it tried to blow up Israel's National Water Carrier.
Marwan Barghouti - serving five life sentences for orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli civilians. When arrested in 2002, he headed Fatah's military wing, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament.
Ahmad Sa’adat - serving a 30-year sentence for heading the PFLP terror organization. A song at a PFLP event also praised him for planning the assassination of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Ze'evi in 2001, but he has not been tried for this crime.
PA daily op-ed: Israel is only transient, land will return to Palestinians
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 2, 2014
From op-ed by Imtiaz Diab:
"Regarding those [Israelis] who came boasting the metal of their gleaming rifles, while fleeing a fate of their bodies being turned to white dust (i.e., the Jews who fled the Holocaust), who shared our bread and salt with us, who betrayed our courtesy and claimed their God had promised our land to them – they are only transient in their journey in the Diaspora, [a journey] which has protected them from dissolving into the nations that hated them everywhere, except for us, we who gave them shelter in our homes.
We know well that they… will leave our holy olive tree one day, [the olive tree] which they uprooted from the soil they claim to own!"

Senior Palestinian official Abbas Zaki: State on '67 borders is first stage
Source: Syrian satellite TV channel, Dec. 23, 2013
Syrian TV host: "When they talk about [the US] imposing a solution, we know that it will be deficient."
Member of Fatah Central Committee Abbas Zaki: "You can relax. We find ourselves united for the first time. Even the most extreme among us, Hamas, or the fighting forces, want a state within the '67 borders. Afterward, we [will] have something to say, because the inspiring idea cannot be achieved all at once. [Rather] in stages."

PLO official: We want at least the ’67 borders, “future generations… [can] fight for the rest of their rights”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 30, 2013
Official PA TV program Religion and the World:
Sheikh Yaqub Qarash, Preacher and Member of PLO’s National Council: “I say to our Palestinian people… Be sure that nothing was paid in exchange [for our prisoners’ release]… And I remind [you] that our real war is for the land and not for the man himself; it is for the land. They [Israel] want the land without people. If we were to go, they wouldn’t [kill] a single Martyr (Shahid) or [take a single] prisoner from among us; they want the land. And we want our land, and we contented ourselves with the minimum, which is the ’67 [borders], and we’ll let future generations explore how to fight for the rest of their rights…"
PA TV host: “Good, honored sheikh. These were good things [to say].”

PLO official: Return to '67 borders is the minimum; future generations will fight for the rest
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 30, 2013
Official PA TV program Religion and the World:
Sheikh Yaqub Qarash, Preacher and Member of PLO’s National Council: “I say to our Palestinian people… Be sure that nothing was paid in exchange [for our prisoners’ release]. The Palestinian [national] leadership paid nothing for this other than one thing – a thing we had not done already for thirty or forty years – and that is going to foreign courts or international institutions… And I remind [you] that our real war is for the land and not for the man himself; it is for the land. They [Israel] want the land without people. If we were to go, they wouldn’t [kill] a single Martyr (Shahid) or [take a single] prisoner from among us; they want the land. Fatah official: PA state will be “from the [Jordan] river to the Mediterranean Sea”
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Oct. 9, 2013
Headline: “Tirawi: ‘We will have a Palestinian state from the [Jordan] river to the Mediterranean Sea’”
“Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi attended a ceremony in appreciation of the prisoners’ families and a reception for new students, held yesterday [Oct. 8, 2013] by the student council of the [Palestine] Polytechnic University in Hebron, in coordination with Fatah’s Shabiba organization (Fatah youth movement)…
He turned to the audience of students and said: ‘Fatah was the first self-sacrificing fighter, (from Fedayeen - self-sacrificing fighter, someone prepared to die for a cause), the first female self-sacrificing fighter, the first stone, the first bullet, the first male prisoner and first female prisoner.’…
In addition, he spoke of the movement’s role in educating its activists towards sacrifice, giving and devotion, saying: ‘We must fulfill the role of the self-sacrificing fighter because the self-sacrificing fighter is not only the one who carries a rifle but also the one who makes decisions, serves the nation and protects the land, honor and holy places.’
In response to statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who announced that there would be no return of Palestinian refugees and no Palestinian state, and who still continues to run wild [building] settlements, Tirawi -- speaking for the Fatah movement that has never forsaken the rifle, the stone and the struggle -- said that Kiryat Arba and [Gush] Etzion are not Israeli and that Nazareth, Jaffa and Haifa will remain Palestinian. [He added] that we will have a state from the [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] Sea.”
PLO official: 1967 borders are "temporary," real solution is end of Israel
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 7, 2013
Member of PLO Executive Committee and the Arab Liberation Front leadership Mahmoud Ismail:
"The USA initiated an attempt to bring the two sides together to reach a just and comprehensive solution in the region, based on the 1967 borders. This is [also] our demand, since the Palestinian leadership and the [Palestinian] National Council's decisions confirm that Palestine is committed or rather agrees to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and within the 1967 borders. There's consensus about that. Of course, some see this as a permanent solution, while some see it - as do we in the Arab Liberation Front - as a temporary solution. We don't think that a peaceful solution is possible without the return of all the refugees and the return of all the occupied land."

Young Palestinian voter: All of Israel is Palestinian land and holding on to it “is basis for everything”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 10, 2013
PA TV program Al-Balad Young People, episode about elections for the Palestinian Youth Parliament.. This clip demonstrates that Palestinian youth have absorbed the PA message that Israel has no right to exist:
Young woman: “I represent the Land of the Homeland [party] list. Why the ‘Homeland?’ Because we believe that the homeland is from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea, and we want to hold on to our homeland, and [we] know that holding on to the homeland is the basis for everything in life. Of course our slogan is ‘the rifle and the olive branch’ because we believe that there will never be peace with the Jews, and [we believe] that we will continue to hold on to our resistance and we will not fix our internal affairs with [anything] but our resistance.” […]
Candidate on the Land of the Homeland [party] list: “Our most important goals can be understood from the list’s name and from the list’s slogan. Our slogan is ‘the rifle on the river side and the olive branch on the sea side.’ We will begin the struggle from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea and will not make do with anything but all the land of the homeland.”

Fatah official posted link to song promoting violence to defeat Israel
Source: Member of Fatah Central Committee, Mahmoud Al-Aloul’s Facebook page, Aug. 26, 2013
Fatah Central Committee member Mahmoud Al-Aloul posted a link to the following song on his personal Facebook page:
“Oh soil of my land, explode
My wound will avenge! [...]
Arise mother, go, and cry ‘Allah is great’ –
Zion will be defeated, Zion will be defeated
Oh hills of Jerusalem, arise and declare: ‘We will cross to Haifa, to Jaffa, we will crush the occupier,
We will break [it]
Arise mother and go, and cry ‘Allah is great’ –
Zion will be defeated, Zion will be defeated
Sister, prepare the shrouds, and set up my body as a bridge
Teach my nation’s children that under the ruins there is a dagger
And arise mother and go, and cry ‘Allah is great’ –
Zion will be defeated, Zion will be defeated
In every line, history wrote down acts of glory with our blood
So go, do not leave our territory,
For tomorrow [the battle of] Khaibar will be strong [Khaibar is the name of last Jewish village defeated by Muhammad’s army and it marked the end of Jewish presence in Arabia in 628.]
And arise mother and go, and cry ‘Allah is great’ –
Zion will be defeated, Zion will be defeated
And arise mother and go, and cry ‘Allah is great’ –
Zion will be defeated, Zion will be defeated
In Allah’s way we hasten, His promise is victory with His support
Our blood is in Al-Aqsa –
how can we be defeated by Zion? [...]
And arise mother and go, and cry ‘Allah is great’ –
Zion will be defeated, Zion will be defeated.”

Source: Radio Voice of Palestine (Fatah), Aug. 8, 2013

The great Palestinian people rise up and tell the world: ‘We are here, Palestine is here, and there will be nothing here other than Palestine, Jerusalem is here and there will be nothing here other than Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque is here, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is here, the Palestinian people – Muslims and Christians – unite here in one of the greatest expressions of national unity.’”

PA daily op-ed: Long-term goal is to get back “all parts of Palestine”
Source: Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2013
“...where is the promised Palestine, with its Haifa, with its [Mount] Carmel, with its Jaffa, with its Nazareth and with all its Galilee lands?’ …And now I say: ‘Alright, this isn’t our whole land, but this is at least the part of the homeland that is available to us.’
… If Gaza and the West Bank are only an available part [of the homeland], this means that I dream of more than that. And what about the Galilee, the Triangle [Israeli region bordering the West Bank with a large Arab population] and the Negev? In other words, if I consider what the Oslo [Accords] brought to be only an available part [of the homeland], therefore I secretly believe in the right of return to all parts of Palestine.
…But this heavy price that my people have paid in goodwill cannot be the end of the story, since it is still at its beginning, and we must expect more complex details and data, just as we cannot be content with what happened; Palestine is not a market of give and take, but a permanent right that passes from generation to generation. The new generation is more stubborn in requesting this right, and a right that is demanded is not lost.
…It is possible that the leader will need to use complex tactics that are difficult to understand in certain situations and [under certain] conditions. We put our hopes in the outcome and the outcome says that if we have sacrificed, suffered and were displaced, we stay committed to the promise. The available part – or the part that is not completely available – is no more than a stop on the way.”

Israel is “an oppressive, occupying entity that will disappear in the end”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 2, 2013
PA TV News reported on a Nakba festival in the Al-Wihdat Refugee Camp in Jordan. The following statement is an example of the success of the PA’s message of non-recognition of Israel and denial of Israel’s right to exist. This viewpoint has been adopted by many Palestinians, as exemplified in the following statement:
Festival participant, former President of the Jordan Medical Association Ahmad Al-Armouti:
“This festival emphasizes the Arab and Palestinian people’s belief in its historic right to Palestine. No matter how long it may take, this people will not forget its historic land from the [Mediterranean] sea to the [Jordan] river, and it declares that it owns this land, and that the Zionist entity is an oppressive, occupying entity that will disappear in the end.”

Note: Nakba (“catastrophe”) is the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel.
