PA depicts a world without Israel
Future: A world without Israel
PA depicts a world without Israel
The Palestinian Authority makes no attempt to educate its people towards peace and coexistence with Israel. On the contrary, from every possible platform it repeatedly rejects Israel's right to exist, presents the conflict as a religious battle for Islam, depicts the establishment of Israel as an act of imperialism, and perpetuates a picture of the Middle East, both verbally and visually, in which Israel does not exist at all. Israel's destruction is said to be both inevitable and a Palestinian obligation.

The following description of Israel's founding in a Palestinian schoolbook represents the dominant dogma about Israel:

"Palestine’s war ended with a catastrophe that is unprecedented in history, when the Zionist gangs stole Palestine … and established the so-called State of Israel."
[Arabic Language, Analysis, Literature and Criticism, grade 12, p. 104]

This official PA map of "Palestine” was broadcast on PA TV in September 2011. The map includes both the PA areas and all of Israel (excluding the Golan Heights) wrapped in the Palestinian flag - a symbol of Palestinian sovereignty over the whole area - and has a key through it, symbolizing ownership. Similar maps presenting all of Israel as "Palestine" appear in Palestinian schoolbooks and are shown regularly on PA TV.
Future: A world without Israel
The PA promises its people that in the future, the State of Israel will be completely erased and replaced by a State of Palestine. A Fatah member of Palestinian parliament, Najat Abu Bakr, told PA TV that the PA supports and adopts the “stages plan.” To the world, the PA claims that the Palestinians seek the West Bank and Gaza Strip, when in fact the goal is all of Israel: “It doesn’t mean that we don’t want the 1948 borders, but in our current political program we say we want a state on the 1967 borders.” [PA TV (Fatah), Aug. 25, 2008]

Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki reiterated this position on Al-Jazeera TV:
“It is impossible to realize the inspiring idea or the great goal in one stroke… Israel will come to an end… If I say that I want to remove it from existence, this will be great, great, [but] it is hard. This is not a [stated] policy. You can't say it to the world. You can say it to yourself.” [Al-Jazeera TV, Sept. 23, 2011]

The following words from a song on official PA TV, which started to appear in 2012, expresses longing for the day that Jaffa, Acre, Haifa and the Galilee, all in Israel, will be part of “my country” (“Palestine”) where all cities would be accessible "with no borders":
"I wish I could enter my country with no borders...
I will go about in Bethlehem and in Al-Aqsa [Mosque], which is held captive...
I do not forget Jenin or Nablus, and the Galilee
I do not forget you, Jaffa…
To Jerusalem, to Ramle, to Acre, to Haifa, oh Lord...
I wish I could enter my country with no borders." [PA TV (Fatah), Feb. 9, 2012]

The PA’s using culture to long for the destruction of Israel is not new. Many examples can be seen in this section below, including a music video, which aired on official PA TV from 2007 – 2009 and promises the liberation of “Palestine,” listing numerous Israeli cities as “Palestine”:
"We will liberate the Land of the religions … Palestine is Arab in history and identity… From Jerusalem and Acre, from Haifa and Jericho and Gaza and Ramallah, from Bethlehem and Jaffa, Be'er Sheba and Ramle, and from Nablus to the Galilee, from Tiberias to Hebron.”

Finally, the newest PA schoolbooks teach that "Palestine will be liberated by its men, its women, its young ones and its elderly." [Arabic Language and the Science of Language, grade 12, p. 44]
Fatah poem glorifies Martyrdom-death as means to attain "Paradise" and "return to Palestine"
Source: Facebook, Fatah - The Main Page, Mar. 24, 2015

Fatah posted the above photo on Facebook showing masked Fatah members stepping on the Israeli flag during a ceremony. A poem printed on the photo demonizes Israel and promotes Martyrdom-death for "Palestine" as the means to attain "Paradise" and its "pleasures":

"In Palestine is Jerusalem!
In Jerusalem - a demonstration!
In the demonstration - a young man!
In the young man - a heart!
In the heart - a bullet!
In the bullet - death!
In death - Martyrdom (Istish'had)
In Martyrdom - Paradise!
In Paradise - pleasures!
And Allah willing, we will return [to Palestine]!

"The State of Palestine participated in the discussions of the 22nd session of the conference of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Kuwait. The meeting was held in the presence of Muslim scholars and delegations from over 46 countries... The Academy will discuss several political, economic, social and medical issues in the context of Islamic Shari'ah law... The [PA] Mufti headed a meeting under the headline 'Jerusalem: its virtues and visits to it' in which he stressed: 'The land of Palestine is waqf (inalienable religious endowment in Islamic law). It must not be relinquished nor must any part of it be sold... He clarified: 'It is the duty of the leaders of the [Islamic] nation and its peoples to liberate Palestine and Jerusalem, to prevent the Judaization in it, to support its residents and strengthen them - everyone according to his ability and to the extent possible."

PA TV host lauds poem: "We haven't forgotten Jaffa, Acre and Haifa... Leave, leave. This land is my land"

Poet Refa’ Abu Shanab from Gaza recites his poem “Land”:‎
"Palestine loves our scent, and yearns to meet us
Its land trembles with joy to the beat of our footsteps
We haven't forgotten Jerusalem and Jaffa, we haven't forgotten Acre and Haifa
We haven't forgotten Grandmother’s tales, stories full of agony...‎
Leave, leave. This land is my land, and your filter cannot hide the sun
The land belongs to the one who cultivates it and waters it with his blood"

Football arena in Jerusalem is “temporary home court” for Israeli players
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 19, 2015
The sports pages of the official PA daily recently described a match between the ‎Palestinian team Bnei Sakhnin and the Israeli team Beitar Jerusalem. The Israeli team ‎was referred to as “the Zionist Beitar” and the football arena in Jerusalem was called ‎the team’s “temporary home court” because “it does not and will never belong to them":
‎“Muhammad [the player], takes revenge for [Prophet] Muhammad, peace be upon Him.‎ The [Palestinian] Bnei Sakhnin [football team] defeated the Zionist Beitar [Jerusalem ‎football team] in its temporary home court [in Jerusalem]. Yes, this court is temporary, ‎because it does not and will never belong to them. But the much-loved Sakhnin team ‎proved itself to be a Palestinian team par excellence, around which millions of our ‎people gather. This proves that they are firmly planted in our historic land, while the ‎other side is foreign.‎ Sakhnin is proof of Palestinian territorial unity. It is the sister [city] of Jerusalem, Gaza, ‎Rafiah, Jenin, Umm Al-Fahm and Nazareth. They curse us and the last prophet ‎‎[Muhammad]. May Allah disfigure them. [They are] racists to the bone... ‎Glory to Sakhnin. The one who scored [the victory] for Sakhnin was a player named ‎Muhammad – Muhammad Ghadir. He scored two goals against the invaders. Thank ‎you Muhammad, and may Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad.”‎

Fatah official implies that Fatah’s real goal is for all of Israel to become “Palestine”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 11, 2014
“Name me one thing we have given up on. Did we give up on the refugees? Did we give up on Jerusalem? Who is leading the actions in Jerusalem? Fatah and the PLO framework, irrespectively of the sizes [of the PLO factions]. Did we give up on the borders? Did we give up on our territories in the interior, from 1967 (i.e., Israel). I want to tell you something even more important. Brother Mahmoud Abbas is the president of the [Palestinian] Authority. I am a member of the Fatah Central Committee. Who told you I don’t want Jaffa and Haifa? Who will tell me that? Why, sir? First of all, the PA and Fatah are not the same thing. Brother Mahmoud Abbas is president of the PA. He talks to presidents, heads of state and others. No! I’m telling you, I want a democratic Palestinian state in which we – Muslims, Jews and Christians – will live, in all of Palestine… I want to ask those who have doubts about Yasser Arafat a question. They heard Yasser Arafat’s speeches. They heard when Yasser Arafat declared the [Palestinian] state. What did he say? Some say [he said] ‘the establishment of the Palestinian State.’ No, no. They heard the words and remembered them [wrong]. He said: ‘We announce the establishment of the State of Palestine on our Palestinian land.’ Where is the land of Palestine?”
Fatah official: Palestinians won’t rest until “not a single Zionist is left in the land of Palestine”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 4, 2014
“Fatah Revolutionary Council member and Director of the [PA] Committee to Resist Settlements and the Wall Ziad Abu Ein said that the issue of liberating Palestine was in everyone’s interests… These statements were made during a political forum organized by the [Separation] Fence and Settlement Resistance Authority, together with the Political and [National] Advisory Commission and the Arab American University in Jenin… Abu Ein emphasized that defeat does not figure in the annals of the Palestinian people, which has been resisting the occupation for decades, and which does not and will not rest until not a single Zionist is left in the land of Palestine… He added that the young generation was the generation of liberation and the generation of a bright future, which will herald approaching victory to Palestine, [noting] that it had much knowledge and experience, and had surprised everyone during the Al-Aqsa Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005). In response to the students’ questions, he emphasized that rifts [between factions] is a crime and disgrace to all that encourage them, and that they serve no one but the occupation. He added that we must unite and increase our efforts to resist this oppressive Nazi occupation, which is stealing our land and spilling our blood.”
Muslim preacher and PLO member: “No Jew will remain in Jerusalem”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Nov. 11, 2014
Official PA TV interviewed Islamic preacher and Palestinian Central Council (PCC, or PLO Central Council) member Yaakub Qureish.
Yaakub Qureish: “One of the conditions in the Pact of Umar (i.e., pact signed between the Muslims and Christians of Syria after the Muslim conquest of 637), and I tell this to people in the country and abroad: We promised Sophronius (i.e., Patriarch of Jerusalem at the time of the Muslim conquest), who gave us the key of Jerusalem, that we would allow no Jews into Jerusalem. Now we say [to] the West, America, Europe: ‘The founder of the Christian religion [sic] demanded that we promise, as part of the Pact, to bar Jews from entering Jerusalem. How can you allow them to enter? How can you violate this agreement?’ … ‘We will protect it, and will not allow any Jews to be in Jerusalem. No Jew will remain in Jerusalem. There is no debate on this point.’”
Official PA TV host: “Right.”
Qureish: “I say this without hesitation, and I speak for the entire Palestinian people and the entire Arab and Islamic nation. I am thereby representing what [our] leader, Mahmoud Abbas, said in his speech ten minutes ago (In this speech Abbas said that Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine and that all Israel is doing in it is illegal according to UN resolutions, -Ed.): There will not be a single Jew or Israeli in Jerusalem. Not a single one. By contrast, Christianity’s rights will be fully protected, as we have promised them for 1400 years. We demand that they respect, together with us, the Pact of Umar, and expel the Jews from Jerusalem.”
Abbas' advisor: "The entire land of Palestine is waqf (i.e., an inalienable religious endowment in Islamic law)"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 22, 2014
"Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari'ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas' advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, said that selling or handing over lands and real estate in Jerusalem and all of Palestine to the Israeli occupation or settlers constitutes treason and a violation of Islamic law. He emphasized that anyone committing this crime - whether as a [real estate] agent or seller - is not part of the nation, and must responsibility for his crime. In addition, he issued a call to fight the groups of traitors - to isolate and boycott them in any way possible.
Al-Habbash emphasized that according to Islamic Shari'ah law, the entire land of Palestine is waqf (i.e., an inalienable religious endowment in Islamic law) and is blessed land, and that it is prohibited to sell, bestow ownership or facilitate the occupation of even a millimeter of it."

PA TV song: "Take my blood and give me freedom: my country from the [Jordan] water to the [Mediterranean] water"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 9, 2014

Song on PA TV, sung by winner of Arab Idol song contest, Muhammad Assaf:
"We possess the right [to Palestine], and we are her men
And when the right is realized, we will redeem her soil
Take my blood and give me freedom: my country from the [Jordan] water to the [Mediterranean] water
O Gaza, sacrifice your men liberally; each of them is worth two
Lift your head high; that is your weapon...
No matter how severe the oppression is, we will protect our land
It's either victory or Martyrdom, her men said
Soil of the forgotten land, watered with precious blood
My land, sing your song, gather your strength for freedom."

Hamas: "We will build an Islamic state in Palestine, all of Palestine" (i.e., Israel)
Source: Al-Ayyam, Oct. 1, 2014
Headline: "Al-Zahar: The Hamas movement will build an Islamic state in all of Palestine"
"Hamas Political Bureau member Mahmoud Al-Zahar emphasized that Hamas would 'build an Islamic State in all of Palestine.' During a ceremony for the relatives of policemen killed by the Israeli army in Gaza, Al-Zahar said: '[Some] have said Hamas wants to create an Islamic emirate in Gaza. We won't do that, but we will build an Islamic state in Palestine, all of Palestine.' Al-Zahar said that if his movement were to 'transfer what it has or just a small part of it to the West Bank, we would be able to settle the battle of the final promise (an allusion to Sura 17:7 of the Quran, see note below) with a speed that no one can imagine.'
He continued by saying: 'We know exactly how to liberate the land of Palestine, and we know how to hit every inch of Palestine with our hands, brains, and money.' Al-Zahar promised 'to protect the resistance project, including all its military, police, security and civilian wings.'
On the [issue of the] PA and the transfer of control of the Gaza Strip to the unity government, he said: 'They relinquished these positions, but we look out for our citizens and our homeland. In no way whatsoever will we allow anyone to harm the resistance project or the dignity of any citizen.'"

Note: His expression "the final promise" is taken from Sura 17:7 of the Quran: "Then when the final promise came, [We sent your enemies]... to enter the temple in Jerusalem, as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction.'" (trans. Sahih International) By alluding to this passage in the context of Israel, Hamas is promising a future war of destruction against Israel.
Abbas' advisor: Fatah and Hamas agree about "liberating Palestine" (i.e., all of Israel)
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 26, 2014

Abbas' advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs and the PA's Supreme Shari'ah Judge, Mahmoud Al-Habbash:
"The Palestinian national reconciliation [between Fatah and Hamas] - how long will arguments and struggles over matters concerning the interests of the Palestinian people, and especially the Gaza Strip, continue?... What are we [Fatah and Hamas] divided about? Do we disagree about Jerusalem, for example? [Do we] disagree about liberating Palestine from the [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] Sea? Disagree about what? What do they disagree about? About a minister responsible for a certain area, about a clerk who needs a job? Issues like these, my brothers, the things, for Allah's sake, all these small [issues] are meaningless compared to the interests of the public."

PA TV host compliments girl on pendant of map erasing Israel: "All of occupied ‎Palestine... will ‎return to us one day‎"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 5, 2014

Official PA TV children’s program The ‎Best Home:
Girl on show, reciting poem, wearing pendant in shape of "Palestine" that includes all of Israel: "...You stand idly by. Where are you, Arabs?"
PA TV host Walaa Battut: "Sweetie, bravo, bravo, bravo! What caught my attention is the pendant you’re wearing, which is of course the map of Palestine. The thing that angers the occupation (i.e., Israel) the most is our belief that all of occupied Palestine is ours and will return to us one day. The right of return – the fact that we continue to think about it and don’t forget that we have a land that was stolen from us and will return to us one day – that angers the occupation. Let’s anger them in every way."

Israel is a “cancerous entity which can only be cured by leaving our land” – PA daily op-ed
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 8, 2014
Op-ed by Fathi Al-Bis, regular columnist for the official PA daily:
“In his response to the barbaric Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip, the President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, said: ‘It seems the devil has possessed [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu.’ We in this region, for our part, say that Netanyahu and his associates truly are devils, unparalleled in perpetrating evil acts. Their evil souls constantly tempt them to murder more and more, and nothing else, under the illusion that murder is what will protect and save them from the existential fear concerning the fate of their cancerous entity, which can only be cured by [its] leaving our land.”

Note: This article was published during the 2014 Gaza war as Hamas was firing thousands of rockets at Israel and as Israel was responding with Operation Protective Edge, which aimed at destroying Hamas' terror infrastructure and ability to launch rockets at Israel.

Abbas' son: In future "we might only agree to one state, and we will insist that it be Palestine"
Source: PA TV's official Facebook page, July 27, 2014

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' son, Yasser:
"One final message to [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu: I've heard that Netanyahu intends to continue negotiations with us [forever]. [Speaking to his son:] Nader, come here, sweetie. He [Netanyahu] intends to continue negotiating with us until 2020 or 2030. He wants to wait until no one remains from the first generation of the Nakba (i.e., ‘the catastrophe,’ Palestinian term for the establishment of Israel) so that we'll forget the cause of the refugees. So we'll forget the cause of the refugees. My answer to him is one word. Nader, sweetie, where are we from?"
Abbas’ grandson, Nader: "From Safed, Palestine."
Abbas' son?:? "Where from?"
Abbas’ grandson: "Safed, Palestine."
Abbas' son?:? "Where will we return to?"
Abbas’ grandson: "To Safed, Palestine."
Abbas' son?:? "Thank you. This is the third generation since the Nakba. This is the third generation since the Nakba. Netanyahu should know that he can negotiate with us until 2020, 2030, or 2050. Time is on our side, and [our] right won't be lost if someone claims it. The first generation exists. He waits until it's gone, but we still exist, and the third generation is behind us. And tomorrow, I don’t think he’ll find anyone to negotiate about two states... Our elders talk today about two states, but tomorrow we might only agree to one state, and we will insist that it be Palestine."
