PA depicts a world without Israel
Future: A world without Israel
PA depicts a world without Israel
The Palestinian Authority makes no attempt to educate its people towards peace and coexistence with Israel. On the contrary, from every possible platform it repeatedly rejects Israel's right to exist, presents the conflict as a religious battle for Islam, depicts the establishment of Israel as an act of imperialism, and perpetuates a picture of the Middle East, both verbally and visually, in which Israel does not exist at all. Israel's destruction is said to be both inevitable and a Palestinian obligation.

The following description of Israel's founding in a Palestinian schoolbook represents the dominant dogma about Israel:

"Palestine’s war ended with a catastrophe that is unprecedented in history, when the Zionist gangs stole Palestine … and established the so-called State of Israel."
[Arabic Language, Analysis, Literature and Criticism, grade 12, p. 104]

This official PA map of "Palestine” was broadcast on PA TV in September 2011. The map includes both the PA areas and all of Israel (excluding the Golan Heights) wrapped in the Palestinian flag - a symbol of Palestinian sovereignty over the whole area - and has a key through it, symbolizing ownership. Similar maps presenting all of Israel as "Palestine" appear in Palestinian schoolbooks and are shown regularly on PA TV.
Future: A world without Israel
The PA promises its people that in the future, the State of Israel will be completely erased and replaced by a State of Palestine. A Fatah member of Palestinian parliament, Najat Abu Bakr, told PA TV that the PA supports and adopts the “stages plan.” To the world, the PA claims that the Palestinians seek the West Bank and Gaza Strip, when in fact the goal is all of Israel: “It doesn’t mean that we don’t want the 1948 borders, but in our current political program we say we want a state on the 1967 borders.” [PA TV (Fatah), Aug. 25, 2008]

Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki reiterated this position on Al-Jazeera TV:
“It is impossible to realize the inspiring idea or the great goal in one stroke… Israel will come to an end… If I say that I want to remove it from existence, this will be great, great, [but] it is hard. This is not a [stated] policy. You can't say it to the world. You can say it to yourself.” [Al-Jazeera TV, Sept. 23, 2011]

The following words from a song on official PA TV, which started to appear in 2012, expresses longing for the day that Jaffa, Acre, Haifa and the Galilee, all in Israel, will be part of “my country” (“Palestine”) where all cities would be accessible "with no borders":
"I wish I could enter my country with no borders...
I will go about in Bethlehem and in Al-Aqsa [Mosque], which is held captive...
I do not forget Jenin or Nablus, and the Galilee
I do not forget you, Jaffa…
To Jerusalem, to Ramle, to Acre, to Haifa, oh Lord...
I wish I could enter my country with no borders." [PA TV (Fatah), Feb. 9, 2012]

The PA’s using culture to long for the destruction of Israel is not new. Many examples can be seen in this section below, including a music video, which aired on official PA TV from 2007 – 2009 and promises the liberation of “Palestine,” listing numerous Israeli cities as “Palestine”:
"We will liberate the Land of the religions … Palestine is Arab in history and identity… From Jerusalem and Acre, from Haifa and Jericho and Gaza and Ramallah, from Bethlehem and Jaffa, Be'er Sheba and Ramle, and from Nablus to the Galilee, from Tiberias to Hebron.”

Finally, the newest PA schoolbooks teach that "Palestine will be liberated by its men, its women, its young ones and its elderly." [Arabic Language and the Science of Language, grade 12, p. 44]
PA Mufti calls on Islamic world to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque from “continuing attacks” and “desecration,” warns of “impending religious war
Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, July 13, 2015
Headline: “PA Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Hussein calls to increase visits to Al-Aqsa”
“PA Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein called to increase visits to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to thwart the escalating Israeli calls to invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque [compound ] and hold Talmudic ceremonies (i.e., Jewish prayers) in its pure courtyards. This was after the extremist Temple organizations called on their supporters to organize a Jewish demonstration in front of the Golden Gate (in Jerusalem’s old city walls –Ed.) this Tuesday [July 14, 2015], the 27th of Ramadan, in order to demand that the Al-Aqsa Mosque [compound] be closed to all Muslims during the anniversary of the so-called ‘destruction of the Temple.’ (i.e.,Tisha B’Av – see note). The Mufti considered this call a dangerous escalation, and explained that the continuing attack against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, its desecration, and the encouragement of the extremists to visit it, indicate an impending religious war. In addition, he stated that the calls and the aggressive plans inciting to desecrate the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards and to harm it have increased during the month of Ramadan. The Mufti called on worshippers from Jerusalem and the 1948 territories (i.e., Israel) and anyone who is able to reach the Al-Aqsa Mosque from across the homeland, to make every effort to visit it and strengthen their presence in it, in order to protect it from the ongoing and increasing attacks against it."

Note: The Al-Karameh battle - On March 21, 1968, Israeli army forces attacked the town of Karameh in Jordan, where Fatah terrorists had been launching attacks on Israel. Although Israel prevailed militarily, Arafat used the event for propaganda purposes, declaring the battle a great victory that erased the disgrace of the 1967 Six Day War defeat.

PA TV host calls Israel “the occupied interior”; guest says goal is “to free” all of the land (i.e., including Israel)

Official PA TV program The Course of Events hosted National Action Committee member Mahmoud Al-Zaq and Fatah spokesman in the Gaza Strip Fayez Abu Aita. The report is about an event to commemorate the Nakba - “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel.

Official PA TV reporter: “Under the supervision of the Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs, the Young Leadership Forum organized a summer camp in the Martyr (Shahid) Salah Khalaf [Sports] Center in the Al-Fari’a refugee camp under the title ‘Al-Yarmouk is our Nakba,’ as part of the activities to mark the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba.
This summer camp represents the historic Palestine as it includes youth from the occupied interior (i.e., Israel) and all areas of the homeland.”
Female participant: “This is a summer camp of the forum, called ‘Al-Yarmouk is our Nakba,’ which brings together people from the West Bank and people from the interior, from the lands occupied in ’48 (i.e., Israel), in order to unite them and break the barriers that divide us.”

PA TV report on an event in Khan Yunis to commemorate the Nakba:
Hasan Abu Salah, Head (Mukhtar) of one of the neighborhoods of Khan Yunis]: “[We are here] to free our Palestinian land, including all its historical territory, even if it will be in stages. However, we will not concede even one meter of our land, from the north or south or west, all our historical land will return to us. The [right of] return is a holy right that it is forbidden to concede.”

PA daily prints poem calling for “the sword” to kill Israelis “and purify the land from the impurities of the infidels”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 13, 2015
Headline: “The land is full of foreigners and Mongols”
[From a poem by Palestinian poet Mustafa Khaddash:]
“67 years of degradation and shame
And the flare of fire in the depths of the heart
67 years in dark depths
The fruit of the plot of the thieves of the family’s land and house
67 years in a burning furnace
Has left us nothing but determination and perseverance
67 years in the forest and in it gangs
Of cobras and predatory and murderous animals

Where is Qutuz, I wonder, and where is Baibars
The land is full of foreigners and Mongols
Where is the sword of Saladin, to destroy them
And purify the land from the impurities of the infidels.”

PA officials compare Israel to Nazi Germany, and, like the Nazis, “are doomed to disappear”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 8, 2015
Headline: “Jericho: Celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Russian people’s victory over the Nazis”
“The Russian ambassador to Palestine, Alexander Rudakov, expressed his hope that the Palestinian people would succeed in establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital… These statements were made during his speech at the Russian Museum hall in the Jericho city center as part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union and the friendly Russian people’s victory over the Nazis… PLO Executive Committee member [and Fatah Central Committee member] Saeb Erekat said that the victory of the Soviets and the Russian people, and the fact that they sacrificed around 67 million [people] are a victory for truth, justice and humanity and not only for the Russian people. In addition, he said that the oppression and injustice, whatever their degree of tyranny and duration, are doomed to disappear, and that the occupation of Palestine would not last for long – regardless of how much the occupation authorities try to evade, deny and act abusively.
Deputy District Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley Jamal Rajoub said that the only occupation at present is the Israeli occupation, and that the anniversary of the victory of the friends in Russia over the Nazis takes place close to the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian people’s Nakba (i.e., 'the catastrophe,' Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) and to the 47th anniversary of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank’s occupation by the neo-Nazis, who oppressed and tortured the citizens and deprived them of their most basic rights. In addition, he said that the Russians’ victory over the Nazis is a glimmer of hope for us as Palestinians because we will definitely prevail.”

Poem written by PA official and printed in the PA daily claims all Israel as “Palestine” that “belongs/returns to us”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 30, 2015
The following verses were included in a poem on Land Day by Palestinian Ambassador to Libya and former Deputy Minister of Information in the PA, poet Al-Mutawakkil Taha:
“On Land Day,
The land belongs/returns to us,
From Rosh Hanikra (i.e., Israel’s northernmost point) to Eilat (i.e., Israel’s southernmost point)
From its sea shore to the Dead Sea,
namely, the living sea,
for we gave it free blood,
that shimmers
in the midst of the water
the land, Palestine, belongs/returns to us
and there is nothing apart from it
today, tomorrow and yesterday.”

Note: Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.

Fatah posted the above photo on Facebook showing masked Fatah members stepping on the Israeli flag during a ceremony. A poem printed on the photo demonizes Israel and promotes Martyrdom-death for "Palestine" as the means to attain "Paradise" and its "pleasures":

"In Palestine is Jerusalem!
In Jerusalem - a demonstration!
In the demonstration - a young man!
In the young man - a heart!
In the heart - a bullet!
In the bullet - death!
In death - Martyrdom (Istish'had)
In Martyrdom - Paradise!
In Paradise - pleasures!
And Allah willing, we will return [to Palestine]!

Football arena in Jerusalem is “temporary home court” for Israeli players
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 19, 2015
The sports pages of the official PA daily recently described a match between the ‎Palestinian team Bnei Sakhnin and the Israeli team Beitar Jerusalem. The Israeli team ‎was referred to as “the Zionist Beitar” and the football arena in Jerusalem was called ‎the team’s “temporary home court” because “it does not and will never belong to them":
‎“Muhammad [the player], takes revenge for [Prophet] Muhammad, peace be upon Him.‎ The [Palestinian] Bnei Sakhnin [football team] defeated the Zionist Beitar [Jerusalem ‎football team] in its temporary home court [in Jerusalem]. Yes, this court is temporary, ‎because it does not and will never belong to them. But the much-loved Sakhnin team ‎proved itself to be a Palestinian team par excellence, around which millions of our ‎people gather. This proves that they are firmly planted in our historic land, while the ‎other side is foreign.‎ Sakhnin is proof of Palestinian territorial unity. It is the sister [city] of Jerusalem, Gaza, ‎Rafiah, Jenin, Umm Al-Fahm and Nazareth. They curse us and the last prophet ‎‎[Muhammad]. May Allah disfigure them. [They are] racists to the bone... ‎Glory to Sakhnin. The one who scored [the victory] for Sakhnin was a player named ‎Muhammad – Muhammad Ghadir. He scored two goals against the invaders. Thank ‎you Muhammad, and may Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad.”‎

Fatah official implies that Fatah’s real goal is for all of Israel to become “Palestine”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 11, 2014
“Name me one thing we have given up on. Did we give up on the refugees? Did we give up on Jerusalem? Who is leading the actions in Jerusalem? Fatah and the PLO framework, irrespectively of the sizes [of the PLO factions]. Did we give up on the borders? Did we give up on our territories in the interior, from 1967 (i.e., Israel). I want to tell you something even more important. Brother Mahmoud Abbas is the president of the [Palestinian] Authority. I am a member of the Fatah Central Committee. Who told you I don’t want Jaffa and Haifa? Who will tell me that? Why, sir? First of all, the PA and Fatah are not the same thing. Brother Mahmoud Abbas is president of the PA. He talks to presidents, heads of state and others. No! I’m telling you, I want a democratic Palestinian state in which we – Muslims, Jews and Christians – will live, in all of Palestine… I want to ask those who have doubts about Yasser Arafat a question. They heard Yasser Arafat’s speeches. They heard when Yasser Arafat declared the [Palestinian] state. What did he say? Some say [he said] ‘the establishment of the Palestinian State.’ No, no. They heard the words and remembered them [wrong]. He said: ‘We announce the establishment of the State of Palestine on our Palestinian land.’ Where is the land of Palestine?”
