Israeli Arab party leader: Terror wave is response to occupation and “summary executions”; it is a “right” to “confront the occupation with all means” (i.e., including violence)

Hadash Secretary Mansour Dahamsheh: “They also use the Knife Intifada (i.e., wave of Palestinian terror attacks, which started in October 2015) to spread racism, fascism, and disgust for the Palestinians and a resolution of the Palestinian issue in the Israeli street. They use backward methods and do not look for the reason [for the current situation and the intifada]. No person exists that seeks death. Every living person loves life and wishes to live in dignity. Therefore he does this (i.e., participates in the intifada) in order to protect his honor and rights. I say that the reason comes from the same source. The occupation, its conduct and checkpoints that are a disgrace to Israeli society, they are the reasons for all of this [Palestinian] behavior and all of this intifada that our young, and even children, are carrying out. One who sees his father, brother, or sister murdered in cold blood and the issue of summary executions –

We want to live in dignity, we do not want to live in humiliation, and so far Israel has not been able to understand this. It is unable to understand that its policy and the continuation of its occupation, and holding on to a whole people, Gaza for instance is a ghetto, a large prison, the Israeli actions, and the conduct of the [Israeli] soldiers at the checkpoints – [all of these] produce this disgust and this response. I say clearly and honestly, without hesitation, every people that lives under occupation, it is not only its right, but its obligation to confront the occupation with all means [at its disposal]. It must resist the occupation in order to end it. Without ending the occupation, there will be no future existence, neither for the state of Israel, nor for the Palestinians.”
Palestinian terror wave (2015-2016) – Palestinian violence and terror attacks against Israelis, including stabbings, shootings, throwing Molotov cocktails, and car rammings. It started in September 2015 and as of July 2016, 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans, and 1 foreign worker from Eritrea) and over 500 wounded.
Summary executions - The PA and Fatah routinely present Israel’s killing of terrorists in self-defense during the terrorists’ attacks as “summary executions” carried out “in cold blood” for no reason.
