Al-Quds, Palestinian daily  |
Headline: "Father of Martyr Muhammad Abu Ghannam to Al-Quds: My son joined the processions of Martyrs who have sacrificed themselves for the Al-Aqsa Mosque"
"Father of Martyr (Shahid) Muhammad Hassan Abu Ghannam (i.e., killed while participating in violent riots against the Israeli army) yesterday [July 22, 2017] received those coming to pay condolences at his home on the new street in the village of Al-Tur in Jerusalem (sic., a Jerusalem neighborhood) with high morale, because his son died as a Martyr for the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Muhammad, 21, died two days ago as a Martyr after violent confrontations in the village of Al-Tur, in which the Israeli forces used live ammunition from short range against young Abu Ghannam. Hassan, the Martyr’s father, emphasized that Muhammad hoped for Martyrdom-death (Shahada) and, praise Allah, Master of the Universe, he did indeed achieve it. He said: 'I am proud that my son died as a Martyr, and I am proud that Muhammad died as a Martyr for the Al-Aqsa Mosque.’"

Muhammad Lafi (18), Muhammad Hassan Abu Ghannam (in his 20s), and Muhammad Sharaf (17) - three Arab rioters who were killed by Israeli soldiers on July 21, 2017, while participating in separate confrontations with the Israeli army in Jerusalem and around it. The riots were held in protest of Israel placing metal detectors at the entrance to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered.
