Fatah secretary threatens violence: Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem “is declaration of war… we are prepared for the return to the prisons and arenas of Martyrdom-death”
Official Palestinian Authority TV - Dec. 11, 2017

Official PA TV program The Occupied Capital, on US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the US embassy to Jerusalem, interviews with people who took part in a procession protesting Trump’s decision, interview with Secretary of Fatah in Jerusalem Shadi Mattour

Secretary of Fatah in Jerusalem Shadi Mattour: “We in the Fatah Movement and in all the echelons of the Movement and the leadership have said that this [American recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital] is a declaration of war. It’s the collapse of the peace process. This will blow up the street. The Fatah Movement has begun a chain of meetings with all of the leaders on the ground in the regional branches, the [Fatah] Shabiba [Movement], and all of its offices. The issue of Jerusalem is a central issue for all of the Muslims, all of the Arabs, and all of the free people in the world. Whoever wants to play with fire in Jerusalem will bear the consequences of this [American] decision and will deal with the transfer of the American embassy to the holy city [of Jerusalem]. We believed in politics and believed in peace, but we see now that peace is killing our dream of establishing our state, and that the world recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation state. [Therefore,] we will deny politics and peace and we will return. We are prepared for the return. The leadership has said that we are prepared for the return to the prisons and arenas of Martyrdom-death (Shahada). This is an honor for us.”
