Rewriting history
Palestinian history fabricated
Rewriting history
Rewriting the history of the Land of Israel in order to deny Israel's right to exist is central to Palestinian Authority (PA) policy. Long before it started the PA terror campaign (the "Intifada," 2000-2005), the PA was fighting a history war – erasing Jewish history and replacing it with a fabricated Palestinian history. This rewriting has two central goals:
1- Erase the Jewish nation's 3,000 year history in the Land of Israel;
2- Invent ancient Palestinian, Muslim and Arab histories in the land.

The goal of this historical revision as a political strategy was first expressed publicly at a conference of Palestinian historians in 1998, when rewriting history was linked to the political goal of denying Israel's right to exist:
"Dr. Yussuf Alzamili [Chairman History Department, Khan Yunis Educational College] called on all universities and colleges to write the history of Palestine and to guard it, and not to enable the [foreign] implants and enemies to distort it or to legitimize the existence of Jews on this land... [History lecturer Abu Amar] clarified that there is no connection between the ancient generation of Jews and the new generation." [Al-Ayyam, Dec. 4, 1998].

Erasing Jewish history in the land of Israel is followed by the PA’s invention of ancient and modern histories that support its political ideology and claim to the land of Israel. The Holocaust and other aspects of Jewish history are alternately denied, downplayed or distorted. Another distortion is to hide from Palestinians that Jesus was a Jew who lived in the Land of Judea/Israel. PA leaders repeatedly define Jesus as a Palestinian who preached Islam, thus denying not only Jewish history, but also the history and legitimacy of Christianity.

Citing numerous examples, this section will document that these and other historical revisions are an integral part of Palestinian policy and are used to create political ideology.
Palestinian history fabricated
Having erased Jewish history, the PA fills the historical void by fabricating the ancient histories of Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims. PA academics claim that Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims all populated the Land of Israel in Biblical times and even earlier. These fictions are all historically impossible, as the name “Palestine" as a replacement for the Land of Judea/Israel was coined by Rome only in 136 C.E., Islam was established only in 610 C.E., and Arabs first arrived in Israel with the Muslim invasion in 637 C.E.

Inventing thousands of years of history when none existed is accomplished through numerous distortions and lies, including changing the Biblical Canaanites into Arabs, changing Biblical Israelis, Judeans and Hebrews into Arabs and Muslims, changing the religion preached by Moses from Judaism into Islam, and changing Jesus into a Palestinian who preached Islam and not Christianity.

This so-called documentary depicting Biblical Canaanites as Arabs, broadcast many times on PA TV, is one example of this PA historical revision.
"The Arab Canaanites established ports on the coast of Canaan, known today as Palestine. Palestine was attacked by invaders, but its Arab Canaanite features withstood attempts to change them. Jaffa was one of the cities whose Canaanite origins the invaders failed to erase." [PA TV, repeatedly, 2005-2007.]

The documentary further invents history by indicating visually that the victims of the Roman invasion were Arabs, not the Jewish kingdom of Judea.
PA TV: Jews are “evil... satans," Palestinians descend from Canaanites

Official PA TV narrator of Palestine This Morning "Palestine - the nearest point between heaven and earth, and the craving of the [Israeli] invaders. The world has been filled with their evil, and these satans have caused devastating corruption through the land of love and peace... The seed of Canaan ambushed them... The [Palestinian] revolution instilled hope, it played [the tune of] the struggle with words and rifles, and it sang the song of Palestine." [Song:] "My weapon has emerged. Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks in the 1960’s - 1980’s. These attacks, which murdered a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and murder of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
PLO invents Palestinian history, denies Jewish history: “Our people has lived for thousands of years, Israel has no connection”
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, June 4, 2017
Headline: "The National Council: The international community must demand an accounting from Israel"

"The Palestinian National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO) said in a notice that it published today (June 4, 2017) for the passing of 50 years since the Naksa (i.e., "the setback," Palestinian term for Israel's victory in the Six Day War) of Palestine… that occupied Jerusalem, with all of its sites that are holy to Christianity and Islam, its Al-Aqsa Mosque, its Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and all of its cultural and human heritage, is the eternal capital of the Palestinian people, the land of the forefathers, in which our people has lived for thousands of years. It is purely Palestinian land to which Israel has no connection…
The Palestinian National Council emphasized again the continuation of the Palestinian struggle in all its means and forms (i.e., including violence) against the Israeli occupation until the achievement of all of our legal rights – the right of return and the right to establish an independent and sovereign state whose capital is Jerusalem on the borders of June 4, 1967."

Guest on PA TV: Hebrew word "Gilboa" is "Arabic-Canaanite-Palestinian" name stolen by Israel
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Mar. 16, 2017
Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on the launching of the National Flower of Palestine – Gilboa Iris campaign, hosting Green Life Association Chairman Faisal Zakarneh

Green Life Association Chairman Faisal Zakarneh: “This is a flower that grows in the Gilboa Mountains (i.e., in northern Israel). At this opportunity, let me explain that Gilboa is an ancient Palestinian-Canaanite-Arabic word, and not Hebrew-Israeli. This needs to be clear. In our minds [the name Gilboa] is connected to the Gilboa Prison... but the occupier has always made us used to him using our language and stealing it and its Arabic-Canaanite-Palestinian names.”

Mount Gilboa has been the Hebrew name of the location since Biblical times, and notably appears in Samuel 1 Chapter 31 as the location where Saul, the first king of Israel, died in battle.
PA TV reporter warns parents to teach children "to fight the falsification of all of history" and "refute all of the false claims that the enemy plants"

Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on the launching of the My Family Reads campaign to encourage families to read to their children
Official PA TV reporter: “The My Family Reads [campaign means] that you will encourage your children to read, that you will direct them to fight the falsification of all of history, and that you will refute all of the false claims that the enemy plants [in the Palestinians’ minds], as a people that reads does not starve and is not enslaved.”

PMW notes the irony in this item, as the PA regularly fabricates history, as we have documented.
Official PA daily invents Palestinian history, claims “Palestinians” existed “10,000 years ago”

“Finally, the Palestinians will be able to know how their ancient ancestors, who honored their ancestors [in burial], looked, and thanks to this honor it is now possible to know how the Palestinians who lived 9,500 years ago in the Neolithic Stone Age in the city of Jericho looked.
The story began in 1953 when archaeologist Kathleen Kenyon found seven skulls from the Neolithic Period at the Tell es-Sultan site, where she was conducting excavations that led to the discoveries that brought her international fame, and the magazine National Geographic published an article about her in December of that year.”

The article includes an image showing a recent model reconstructed from one of the skulls.

"The Al-Quds magazine met with Fatah Revolutionary Council member and Director of the General Union of Palestinian Women in the Lebanon branch Amna Jibril in order to examine with her the importance of holding the [Seventh Fatah] Conference under the present conditions, and how it influenced the Lebanese arena…"

Q.: "In what way was the Seventh Conference different from the Sixth Conference? And what is your assessment of the mechanism used to hold the Seventh Conference?"

Fatah Revolutionary Council member Amna Jibril: "…The Seventh Conference was unusual in the amount of young people that were present and in the fact that 28 delegations were present from 28 [foreign] states that emphasized the Palestinian right, the need to realize [the establishment of] an independent Palestinian state, and the legality of the Palestinian struggle. They also emphasized the right [of the Palestinian people] to carry out legal resistance to end the occupation, and the need to end the terrible [Fatah-Hamas] rift and complete the national reconciliation. Their participation and speeches indicated the clear international support for the Palestinian cause, the highlighting of the need for a two-state solution according to the 1967 borders so that Jerusalem will be the capital of the Palestinian state, and also the highlighting of the international desire to achieve peace, particularly in light of the fact that the Palestinian people has been collapsing under occupation for the last 70 years."

Lebanese on PA TV fabricates “massacre” against Palestinians in 1882

Official PA TV program State of Politics, hosting Greek Catholic Bishop of Zahle, Lebanon, Issam John Darwish, Chairman of the Lebanese Committee to Remove the Blockade on Gaza Hani Suleiman, and lecturer on international relations at the Lebanese Notre Dame University – Louaize Na'im Ramzi Salem

Chairman of the Lebanese Committee to Remove the Blockade on Gaza Hani Suleiman: “After the war of June 2006 (sic., July, Second Lebanon War 2006) [Former Israeli Prime Minister] Ehud Olmert appeared in the Israeli Parliament and said: ‘I know we lost the war, that is clear, but as your reward we will respond by creating internal tension among you (i.e., the Palestinians) through religious conflicts (sic ., there are no records of any such statement).’ This in short is how he said it. It is not we who made it up for him… This not only serves Israel; it was created by Israel. This is the Western Zionist plan to create tension among us…
I want to tell you a small story. When we were injured on the freedom flotilla (i.e, the Marmara, 2010) a helicopter transferred us to the suburbs of Tel Aviv, a flight of half an hour from the sea to the suburbs of Tel Aviv. This suburb, perhaps brother [lecturer on international relations at the Lebanese Notre Dame University – Louaize Na'im] Ramzi [Salem] has heard of it, its name is Petah Tikva. In Hebrew it means the key of hope (sic., opening of hope). However its name is Meiser, a Muslim Arab village. A massacre took place in this village against the Muslims and the Arabs in 1882 (sic., the Arab village was Mulabbis. There is no record of a massacre there)."

Abbas’ Advisor on Religious Affairs invents Palestinian history: Palestinians have existed in this land “from before Abraham came to it, more than 5,000 years ago”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 30, 2016

Official PA TV, broadcast of Friday sermon by PA Supreme Shari’ah Judge and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash, with Abbas in attendance

Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, Mahmoud Al-Habbash:
”They (i.e., the Israelis) have denied our existence and our lives. They have denied that we are a people that has existed on this land from before Abraham came to it, more than 5,000 years ago. We have been on this land in a continuous existence.”

Al-Habbash claims that there was an ancient Palestinian people that predated Abraham. The Bible says Abraham dwelt “many days in the land of the Philistines.” (Genesis 21: 34). The Bible’s “Philistines” have no connection to the modern Arab Palestinian people. The Philistines were a people of Greek origin who settled in the land of Canaan at the beginning of the Iron Age (1150 - 586 BCE) and lived beside the Israelite tribes. The Philistines were exiled by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in 604 BCE and ceased to exist as a nation soon afterward.
The land of “Judea” was renamed “Palestine” by Rome in 136 CE, as a punishment to the Jews for participating in the Second Jewish Revolt against Rome, known as “The Bar Kochba Rebellion.” Arabs first arrived in the land of Israel/Judea with the Muslim invasion of 637 CE. Arabs of “Palestine” first identified themselves as “Palestinians” in the 20th century.
PA TV portrays Israel as foreign colonial occupier, claims ancient Jewish history is Palestinian
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 3, 2016

The PA TV video shows a woman who represents "ancient Palestinians" (or possibly Muslims) going through the history of the land - replacing the Jewish people's actual history. The woman is introduced in a peaceful scene feeding birds in a period predating the Roman conquest of Judea and destruction of the Temple in 70 CE. Suddenly the scene is disturbed, the birds scatter and the woman runs away from various foreign invaders: first an ancient Roman soldier, then a Crusader, then a British soldier, and finally a Jew (wearing a skullcap), who throws a lit cigarette at her.
In the final scene, the woman stops fleeing when a man on a horse - the "new" Muslim conqueror Saladin who defeated the Crusaders - extends his hand and helps her up the mountain. He represents the coming savior who will "liberate Palestine" from Jewish-Israeli rule. In the end, the woman stands on the top of the mountain, fleeing no one anymore, symbolizing that Israel is gone like the other foreign rulers.

Official PA TV host: “The Palestinian heritage refuses to undergo Judaization, despite the terror of the occupation that attempts to harm our heritage and Judaize it. Palestine, with its people, its land, its history, its trees, and everything within it – it is the faithful protector of our heritage, and it is waging a daily struggle against the occupation, at a time when Israel does not cease its acts of forgery and robbery against the Muslim and Christian holy sites and the antiquities sites - which are the required basis for heritage and national culture - and steals our Canaanite heritage.”

Poet on PA TV: Palestinians descended from ancient Jebusites, "invented the alphabet and gave it to mankind," but Jewish kings only ruled in Israel for "37 years"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 5, 2016
Official PA TV program Culture Talks, hosting poet and former Palestinian diplomat Omar Shalayel, who recites the poem “I am the Palestinian”
Poet and former Palestinian diplomat Omar Shalayel: “I am the Palestinian, the first on the ground [of Palestine]. I am the Jebusite who was the master of the noble horse. I built Jerusalem from the rocks of our land. Its rocks chiseled my hands. Before the ‘friend’ (i.e., Arab euphemism for the patriarch Abraham) arrived, and I am the proof, and there is no other man. All of the footsteps on my land, all of them were mine. I am he who invented the letters of the alphabet, and I gave them to mankind…
This is a long song. I am the Palestinian, this land is my land. The Zionist forgery and the British and American forgery, how they have changed Arab Palestine. And [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu comes out and says: ‘This is the land of the patriarchs.’ Who are your patriarchs? This is a land [peoples] have passed through: The Romans sat in it for 700 years, in Jerusalem, the Egyptian Pharaohs sat in it for 400 years, the Persians 300 years, the Muslims 1,300 years after that. David and Solomon (i.e, Jewish kings) sat in Jerusalem for 37 years (sic., David reigned for 33 years, Solomon reigned for 40 years, and the Davidic dynasty spanned hundreds of years). What are they, compared to the large empires?

Therefore we are in Palestine throughout history, before the Common Era and after it, the Persians, Turkish, Egyptian Pharaohs, Mongolians, Tatars, and Crusaders have passed by us. Nations have passed by us and all of them leave. The shortest period [of foreign sovereignty over the land of Palestine] is that of the Zionists. Solomon and David [ruled] for 37 years, do they stand before the huge and mighty empires that came to Palestine?”
Palestinian activist: Palestinians descend from ancient Canaanites, if Jews were in Samaria 3000 years ago it was "for a short period" as "guests"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 5, 2016
Headline: “Journalists took a tour of the historic village of Sebastia”
“Activists of the village of Sebastia (i.e., where an ancient Jewish capital stood, see note below) in the Nablus district, during a meeting of journalists held yesterday morning [Sept. 4, 2016], declared that the village is the third [place] after Jerusalem and Hebron that is [most] under the threat of Israeli Judaization …
The hashtag campaign #Sebastia_sun_of_the_cultures, which was officially launched yesterday by young activists, declared that the village of Sebastia is under threat of Judaization…
Head of the Sebastia Municipality Mu’tasim Aliwi said: ‘The Zionist occupation illegally insists that it has ownership of the place… Despite the occupation’s claim that it has roots in this village for the last 3,000 years, the Canaanites were here before that and established their culture here 4,000 years ago…’
Spokesman of the #Sebastia_sun_of_the_cultures campaign Zaid Al-Zuhri emphasized that, ‘Every bit of Sebastia tells of an ancient culture that has passed from here. They say it is Samaria, the capital of the northern kingdom. Indeed, this is the Israeli version on which they base their historic right to Palestine, and we say to them: ‘Perhaps we received you here as guests 3,000 years ago for a short period during the Roman period, but we have been here for more than 4,000 years. Sebastia is the direct continuation of Canaanite Shakim, in other words the city of Nablus.”

The city Shomron (Samaria in Greek), near Nablus, was the capital of the Northern Kingdom of Israel in the 9th and 8th centuries BCE. It was destroyed by the Assyrians in 722 BCE and rebuilt by the Judean King Herod in 27 BCE, who renamed it “Sebastia.” For more information, click "full article."

There are no flaws and no retreat from our journey. This policy of destruction is in the occupation’s blood, from ’48 until now. We are the Canaanites, we are the Jebusites, we have 6,000 years in this land, while those people, who came as part of an international plot that solved the problems of the Jews and the problems of Europe at the expense of the Palestinian people, they are like the empires that invaded this land and left defeated. Therefore they will [also] leave it defeated, Allah willing…”

Headline: "The embarrassing capitulation of the UN"

Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, columnist for the official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida

"A few days ago the UN refused to display an Israeli exhibit titled Zionism and Jerusalem, which was meant to be held on Monday, April 4 [2016], because the exhibit is not consistent with the decisions the of international bodies and includes pictures and symbols that have no connection to Zionism and the Israeli ethnic cleansing state, including pictures and items of the original owners of the land, in other words the Arab Palestinians. Likewise, posters are displayed in the exhibit with slogans that contradict the option of a political arrangement and the UN resolutions from the beginning of the conflict 70 years ago and until today, such as: 'Jerusalem, where Israel originated 3,000 years ago!' However, the UN leadership capitulated to the logic of Israel's representatives in the UN after Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon sent a letter of sharp protest to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, in which he protested the ban decision…

Unfortunately, the UN ignored its regulations and decisions and agreed to the option of the Israeli ambassador, right-wing extremist [Danny] Danon, who opposes the two-state option within the borders of June 4, 1967. This is an embarrassment for the UN secretary-general and the entire international body, and reflects a shirking of the decisions of international entities by those appointed by this body, who have rejected and reject the Israeli view, as it has no connection to reality, the two-state option, or historical logic. This is because historic Palestine, and Jerusalem at its heart, its western and eastern parts, has been Palestinian land for 4,000 years."

Arabs first identified themselves as “Palestinians” in the 20th century, after the creation of the State of Israel. Claiming a 5,000 year old Palestinian nation is a historical lie.
PA daily acknowledges Jewish history in Israel, but claims biblical Philistines were “Palestinians”

     Headline: “Daoud was here!”
“At the beginning of Al-Najma St., the traditional path of the convoys of Patriarchs arriving from Jerusalem on Christmas, are three wells that have been considered a tourist site for hundreds of years, according to travelers who visited Bethlehem…
Like the other holy sites, after Emperor Constantine embraced Christianity, it was determined that these were the wells mentioned in the book of Samuel II (After embracing Christianity, Constantine decided the location of holy sites mentioned in the bible –Ed.): ‘King Daoud (i.e., King David) was in the cave of Adullam, and the army of Palestine was encamped in the valley of Rephaim. And Daoud was in the stronghold, and the Jews in Bethlehem defended him. And Daoud longed [for water] and said: Who will get me water from the well of Bethlehem which is at the gate. And the three heroes broke through the camp of Philistines, and drew water from the Bethlehem well at the gate, and they carried it, and they brought it to Daoud; and he did not want to drink it, and poured it out before God. And he said far be it from me God that I should do this, this is the blood of people who endangered their lives, and he would not drink it.’ (paraphrase of Samuel II, 23: 13-17 –Ed.)

According to tradition, King Daoud felt great thirst after a crucial battle with the Palestinian tribes, and asked three of his men to bring him water from the wells being guarded by the Palestinians next to Bethlehem. When King Daoud learned of the dangers faced by his people and the difficulties they went through to bring him the water, he refused to drink it and spilled it on the ground as a sacrifice to God. (Samuel II, 23: 16-17) [parentheses in source].”

PA kids magazine calls Haifa a Palestinian city, and claims that Palestinians lived there in prehistoric times
Source: Zayzafuna magazine, Jan. 1, 2016
Headline: “A city in Palestine – Haifa”
“A coastal city found in the north of the Palestinian coastal plane and in it a port that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Its location is beautiful and charming, and it is surrounded by sea, plain, and mountains. Haifa is an ancient Canaanite city, located on the Carmel mountain, and archeologists have found there archeological remnants of civilizations from all three periods of the ancient Stone Age … Archeologists have found there fossilized skeletons and remnants of the fire used by Palestinians, and they are the oldest remnants of ashes in the Mediterranean area… The city is the center of the district and is the third largest city in Palestine, after Jerusalem and Jaffa (i.e., Tel Aviv-Jaffa)… At the end of the British Mandate there were 20 schools just in Haifa, in which there was remarkable coexistence between the Christians and Muslims. However, the treachery led to the city falling into the hands of Zionist organizations during April 1948.”

Zayzafuna is a PLO magazine for children partially funded by the PA. The magazine, which includes material written by both the magazine’s staff and child readers, represents the values of the educators and serves as a window into the minds of the Palestinian children submitting material to the magazine. Zayzafuna's website states that the magazine's advisory board is comprised of PA officials and educators, including Jihad Zakarneh, PA Deputy Minister of Education, and Abd Al-Hakim Abu Jamous, Head of the Media Department at the PA Ministry of Education. In May 2011, the Deputy Chairman of the Zayzafuna organization Abd Al-Karim Ziyada explained on PA TV that the PA gives "a monthly payment of 10,000 shekels ($2,700) to cover the magazine's [costs]." Song on PA TV: Tel Aviv (founded by Jews in 1909) used to be a Arab city

Official PA TV program Palestine this Morning
“My homeland, satisfy our desire with your hills
We sow on the coastal plain and live in our desolation
In the past we were serene and there were no enemies living around us
No occupation and no imprisonment
No arrests and handcuffs
Acre, Haifa, Jaffa of the riches (indicating the financial importance of Jaffa before 1948 –Ed.)
Tel Al-Rabi'a (Arabic translation of Tel Aviv, to wrongly imply the existence of an Arab village of that name prior to Tel Aviv, a city founded by Jews in 1909 –Ed.) our land
And the Carmel riding as a horseman on the sea, as the ships ride the port.
Do not ask me at all about our situation
Our nights are like darkness and despondency
Settlers have settled on the hills
Our home, and he comes to expel us.”
Official PA daily gives credence to book claiming Palestinians are natives while acknowledging Hebrews lived in the land temporarily
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 8, 2015
Headline: “Publication of the book ‘ A Brief History of Palestine’ by Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh”
“The Dar Al-Shorok publishing house recently published a book titled ‘ A Brief History of Palestine,’ by Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh, the head of the [Palestinian] Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction ‘ PEDCAR,’ and a Fatah Central Committee member. The book tells the story of this land in simple language and in a comprehensive manner, and the author moves fluently between the different periods, from the most ancient, through current times. The author begins with the history of Canaanite Palestine, and refers to the tribes and peoples that lived in it, and who lived in coexistence with the inhabitants, such as the Jebusites, the Hyksos, the Hebrews, and the Edomites. Likewise, he continues with the birth of Jesus, the Islamic conquest, the Ottoman period, the development of Zionism, the Nakba of Palestine, and the establishment of the State of Israel. The book clarifies that the original inhabitants of the land of Palestine have always inhabited it, despite the different religions and cultures that came to it [Palestine], and had reciprocal relations with them, while preserving its culture and character, despite mingling with other cultures throughout the years. Likewise, the author proves, by detailing the historical facts, that Palestine was for a long time the target of foreign invasions, which aimed to break the Arab Islamic triangle of Baghdad-Damascus-Cairo, whose unity is a guarantee of Palestine and its inhabitants’ victory.”
Op-ed in PA daily: Jerusalem was founded 6000 years ago by“Canaanite Palestinians”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 8, 2015
Headline: "The Blathering Intellectual"
Op-ed by Editor-in-Chief Mahmoud Abu Al-Hija
"Those who founded Jerusalem were the Jebusite and Canaanite Palestinians, and they inhabited it in the fifth millennium BC. First, it was called Jebus, and then 'Ur salem' after its Canaanite king, and 'Ur Salem' is a completely Arab name. After the Islamic conquest, it was renamed 'Aelia [Capitolina]' (Roman colony built on the ruins of Jerusalem in 136 AD following the Bar Kochba Revolt, conquered by the Persians in 614 AD –Ed.) and this name appeared in the Pact of Umar (i.e., pact signed between the Muslims and Christians of Syria after the Muslim conquest of 637). Later on, during the Abbasid period (i.e., third of the Islamic caliphates to succeed the Islamic Prophet Muhammad), it was called Bait Al-Maqdis, and this name appeared in the poems of Abu-Nuwas (i.e., classical Arabic poet born in the 8thcentury BC). The holy city did not carry any Hebrew name in history, and the Hebrew language did not exist there or anywhere else, it was Aramaic.”
PA daily op-ed: Palestinians are “descendants of the Canaanites,” original inhabitants of the land, and built Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and other cities

Op-ed by Izzat Daraghmeh, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
Headline: “Rabbi Zion’s religious ruling…”
“These are the Palestinians, descendants of the Canaanites and the Jebusites, the first to dwell on this sacred soil and to inhabit this blessed land. They are the first who set foot on this soil, and built Haifa, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Safed, Hebron, Nablus and Tal Al-Rabia (i.e., Arabic translation of Tel Aviv, to wrongly imply the existence of an Arab village of that name prior to Tel Aviv, Ed.). They are those who have put down roots in the heart of Jerusalem, and survived throughout all the centuries, and all the dreams of invaders and greedy ones were shattered on their rocks and chests. Colonialism and all invaders and occupiers passed through here, while the Palestinians continued to carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) and stand firm.”

PA FM claims Palestinians have been on the land for 10,000 years and Israel is trying to expel them, Dead Sea Scrolls part of Palestinian heritage
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 7, 2015
“During a speech he gave yesterday [Nov. 6, 2015], Friday, at the 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris, Foreign Minister of the State of Palestine Riyad Al-Malki... stated: ‘I have come to you at a time when my homeland and people are suffering from cruel aggression once again, which harms humans and stones, and does not skip children, elderly, and women; ongoing aggression by Israel, the occupying power, through which it aims to eliminate the presence of Palestinians in the land of their ancestors, where they have been planted for over 10,000 years.’
He called on the member states to fulfill their commitments and implement what was specified in the agreements of UNESCO, including a prohibition to import, export, or transfer ownership of cultural property from the occupied land of Palestine, which the occupation is illegally taking over, and returning it to its land of origin. He added: ‘We will act to bring to justice anyone proven to be involved in trafficking antiquities stolen from Palestine, including countries that agree to these stolen pieces of heritage being displayed in their museums, as happened in the past with the Dead Sea Scrolls, which were stolen in 1967 by the occupation authorities, from the Archaeological Museum of Palestine (i.e., the Rockefeller Archeological Museum in East Jerusalem). Likewise, he condemned any harming of archeological sites in the occupied State of Palestine, and everywhere in the world, including heritage sites in Syria and Iraq.”

PA daily op-ed claims the land belongs to Palestinians since the time of the Canaanites and the Philistines

Headline: “The rage of Jerusalem – the system of open hands”
“Palestine is ours since the period of the Canaanites (members of the Kinana Arab tribe), the Arab Jebusites, and the Arab Philistines (the Palestinians) (worshippers of the Arab god Falas in Yemen), and from time immemorial… It is ours since the last Arab immigration 200-300 years BCE, as a result of the collapse of the emirates/regions of the tribes of the Children of Israel (the Arab Yemenite [tribe] in Yemen)… In our land, as the archeologists say today… the Arab Children of Israel tribe, weak in numbers, was unimportant and never ruled, given the existence of dozens of other tribes in Palestine (in general, there is no connection between the people of Israel, the Arab Yemenite tribe which has been wiped off the stage of history and the present Jewish residents of Palestine who are mainly Jews from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, [the region] between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, and then east and west Europe – see [the writings of] Shlomo Sand (author of The Invention of the Jewish People, which claims that that the ancestry of most contemporary Jews stems mainly from outside the Land of Israel -Ed.) and Arthur Koestler (author of The Thirteenth Tribe, which advances the thesis that Ashkenazi Jews are descended from the Khazars Ed.), two fair Jews.) (parenthesis in source) The invasions of Palestine which occurred one after the other – the Persians, Greeks, Romans, and in modern times the English and the Zionist entity – are nothing but a prelude to its redemption by the Arabs, the true owners of the land.”
Official PA daily claims Palestinian heritage is "thousands of years old"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 13, 2015
Headline: “In the name of the oath in the shadow of the flag”
Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, Fatah Revolutionary Council member and regular columnist for the official PA daily
“The Palestinian Fida'i’s (self-sacrificing fighter’s) keffiyeh (Arab headdress) came before the appearance of the Palestinian flag as the symbol of the Palestinian fighting for freedom, despite the leadership of the Palestinian revolution’s insistence on the presence of the Palestinian flag as a symbol of the homeland, in other words a symbol of a people with a land and a state. The symbolism of the keffiyeh is not confined only to the period since the outbreak of the Palestinian revolution, but rather it has historical symbolism, being the headdress of the first men of Palestine, who emerged from the womb of the holy land of Palestine from the dawn of human history. Therefore, we are interested in the symbol of the state – the flag – as a means to stop the expansion of the Zionist occupation and settlement project on our land, and we are also interested in the Canaanite keffiyeh as a heritage that is thousands of years old, in order to maintain one of the examples of our historical and natural right to our land, Palestine.”
PA Minister of Jerusalem Affairs: Palestinian history is "rooted in this land for thousands of years," Israel is trying to "brainwash new generations" through "forgery, fabrication, and distortion"

“[PA] Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Jerusalem District Governor Adnan Al-Husseini updated an Italian delegation… about the Israeli violations against our people, and particularly in Jerusalem…
Al-Husseini talked about the battle of curricula being carried out by our people and its leadership, as the occupation authorities are trying to play with the Palestinian curricula and change concepts central to the Palestinian history and doctrine, as part of a systematic plot to erase the characteristics of the Islamic and Christian Arab culture, to brainwash new generations and cut them off from their historical and cultural past rooted in this land for thousands of years, through means of forgery, fabrication, and distortion, which almost fooled everyone.
Al-Husseini said: ‘The occupation authorities are acting day and night to erase the characteristics of the Old City from Jerusalem and to show its forged Jewish character.’”

Official PA daily denies Jewish history in Jerusalem, claims that all that archaeological excavations have found is “the story of the ancient Palestinian Jebusites”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 27, 2015
Headline: “Jerusalem and the unenlightened”
“Our people alone protects the holy sites, with its hands and through its physical presence, which constitute a firm barrier against those obsessed with myth, who have been excessive with their excavations - and yet there is not a stone they have turned over in Jerusalem without reading in it the story of the ancient Palestinian Jebusites, which strengthens the narrative of the new Palestinian… This is the battle of entitlement and justice against people who have passed through our land. The region of David’s kingdom, which they use as an excuse [to justify their right to the land], didn’t consist of more than 81 dunams (i.e., about 1/4 acre) of the homeland occupied by the armed Zionism, whose area is about 110 dunams.”
PA Deputy Minister: Palestinians were in Jerusalem “centuries before the Jewish religion”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, May 24, 2015

Deputy Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and member of Fatah’s Revolutionary Council, Salwa Hadib:
‎‎“Jerusalem is not only a religious city. Jerusalem is civilization. It has been a Canaanite city for ‎thousands of years. The Palestinian people has been present in it for thousands of years, whether it ‎was in Babylon, Assyria or Canaan, they [the Palestinians] gathered in the area before anything else, ‎centuries before the Jewish religion... An Israeli engineer and an archeologist brought Israeli coins – ‎shekels and agoras – and threw them on the ground before the renovation [of the Al-Karmi ‎neighborhood in Jerusalem] in order to prove, after dozens and hundreds of years, that “we (i.e., the ‎Israelis) were present here.” They are stealing history and geography.”‎

Palestinian national committee: Lifta nature reserve is not an Israeli site, must preserve the "Canaanite heritage village" and its "Palestinian identity"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 21, 2015
Headline: “Discussion on dealing with the occupation’s plan to list the village of Lifta as an Israeli site”
“The Palestinian National Committee for Education, Culture, and Sciences deliberated yesterday [May 20, 2015] over ways to oppose the Israeli occupation authorities’ plans to register the village of Lifta on the world heritage sites list as an Israeli heritage site…
Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Committee for Education, Culture, and Sciences Murad Al-Sudani praised the role of the head of the Lifta Association and its members in preserving their Canaanite heritage village and their Palestinian identity, and also praised them for their resistance to the occupation’s plans, whose goal is to destroy the village and Israelize it.”

Lifta was an Arab village near the western entrance to Jerusalem. During the War of Independence in 1948, the Palestinian residents deserted their homes, most of which remained empty for many years. In the 1980s the site was declared an Israeli nature reserve.
Official PA daily: 19th century "Palestinian" saints prove Jewish history in Israel is a "fabricated Zionist narrative"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 19, 2015
Headline: “The saints and Mahmoud Abbas”
Excerpt of article by Muwaffaq Matar, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“When His Holiness [Pope Francis] said to President Mahmoud Abbas: ‘It is fitting to honor you with this medallion because you are an angel of peace,’ (sic., rather than calling Abbas an angel of peace, the pope said that he should be one) for us this was a certificate of recognition by billions of faithful in the world that the ideology and political conduct of President Abbas are noble, tolerant, and peaceful…
A deathly silence fell over the senior Israeli officials when the Catholic Church declared the Palestinian nuns Mary Alphonsine Ghattas (1843-1927) and Mariam Bawardi (1846-1878) as saints, and also afterwards. This is an [Israeli] admission, unwillingly made, of a historic fact, which will dwell forever in the consciousness and faith of billions of faithful in the world. None of those believing in the two falsehoods – ‘the promised land’ and ‘God’s chosen people’ – even dared to jump up and say that Saint Bawardi is ‘Israeli’ because she is from the Galilee. This is because, simply, they believe that their facts about our holy land (‘their country’) [parentheses in original] are artificial, and created through the terror of occupation and settlement, and that their foundations, which were invented not long ago, are similar to the roots of the desert thistle, as compared to the roots of the holy tree, which is the Palestinian man, which have existed ever since the relationship was established between man on earth and God in heaven…
It is natural that the two saints be Palestinian, and it is just that the fabricated Zionist narrative will take a fall before the holy throne."

PA daily op-ed: Palestinians are "the first people in the history of mankind"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 18, 2015
Headline: “The memory of the Nakba is itself a rebellion”
Excerpt from article by Yahya Rabah, regular columnist for the official PA daily and member of the Fatah Leadership Committee in Gaza
“I feel great pride in being a Palestinian. I belong to the people with the most just cause in the history of mankind, and the one in which the injustice is the clearest. Is there any greater injustice than our people suffering these 67 years from a tragic sin… that is the Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel), in its deep and comprehensive meaning, when the strongest of the strong in the world conspired in order to occupy the homeland of the first people in the history of mankind.”
Prehistoric man was Palestinian
Source: Al-Asima, bi-weekly distributed with official PA daily, Feb. 25, 2015
“The study of the prehistoric period is based on archeological remains from the caves of Palestine. The bones of the early Palestinian man found there prove that he was walking upright… During the New Stone Age (5,000-8,000 BCE) [parenthesis in source], the Palestinians discovered agriculture and built the town of Jericho, the most ancient city humanity has known, and domesticated animals.”

Note: The PA designation of early man as Palestinian is an anachronism. After the Jewish revolt was put ‎down in 135 CE, the Romans changed the name of Judea/Israel to “Palaestina” to punish the Jewish ‎nation. Until the creation of the State of Israel, all residents of the region, including Jews, were identified ‎as Palestinians. According to the PA daily, the Arab population in the region did not have a Palestinian ‎identity when Fatah was created in 1965, but years of Fatah’s terror, which it refers to as “military ‎actions,” is what created the current Palestinian Arab identity. [Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. ‎‎23, 2005, cited in Deception: Betraying the Peace Process, p. 21-22]‎

Al-Asima is distributed with the official Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and lists as its "general supervisor" Othman Abu Gharbieh, who is a member of Fatah's Central Committee and the Secretary General of the Popular National Conference of Jerusalem, the PLO institution that publishes this bi-weekly.
Official PA daily: Ancient Arab tribes were "Palestinian"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 3, 2015
Headline: “Arabe – palaces, stories, and history”
“The village of Arabe is located on the northern side of the Nablus mountains, south west of the city of Jenin, which is located behind it and 12 kilometers from it…
The history of the building of the two palaces (i.e., the palaces of Abd Al-Qadir Abd Al-Hadi and Hussein Abd Al-Hadi) goes back to the 19th century, and they are a part of the old city of Arabe. At the moment it is possible to visit both of these monuments, which were connected to the rise of the local feudal class at the time and the establishment of the [local] leadership against the central Ottoman rule. These leaders had an influential role in Palestinian history, and particularly during the civil war that Palestine experienced in the 19th century between the Qays and Yaman parties (i.e., ancient Arab tribes – the Qays originating in the northern Arabian Peninsula, and the Yaman in the southern Arabian Peninsula), in which the Muslim, Christian, and Druze Palestinians were divided by their tribal origin – Qays or Yaman.”
Official PA daily reports on discovery of "Palestinian" tomb from 1600 BCE
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 27, 2014
Headline: "The spectacular tomb structure of the 'shepherd kings' in the Palestinian museum in Jerusalem"
"In a corner of the Palestinian museum in Jerusalem, a Palestinian family preserved itself for more than 3,000 years, despite the invasions and calamities that Palestine experienced.
The subject of discussion is a tomb structure discovered in Jericho, and relocated to the museum in the 1950s…
In the 1950s Kathleen Kenyon, an archeologist characterized by great impartiality, headed the excavations at Tell es-Sultan in Jericho. Among the discoveries found were graves from the Middle Bronze Age, including the aforementioned tomb, which was dated to approximately the Hyksos period, in other words approximately 1,600 BCE, and was reassembled in the museum in the same state in which it was found."
PA TV News distorts history: Palestinians fought the Romans in ancient times
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 27, 2014

PA TV reporter:
"The settlers invaded an ancient tomb... an ancient rock-cut cave built by the Greeks. The Palestinian rebels used it as a hideout during their war against the Romans... Through recurring invasions and by holding Talmudic ceremonies (i.e., Jewish prayers) in ancient tombs, the occupation is trying to manufacture a new history that legitimizes its occupation."

Note: The Jews, not Palestinians, fought the Roman Empire in Judea from 66-73 and again from 132-135CE. After the Jews were defeated, the Romans changed the name of the region from Judea/Israel to Palaestina to punish the Jewish nation for their unsuccessful rebellion. The claim that "Palestinians" fought the Romans is historically inaccurate, as "Palestinians/Palestine" did not yet exist.
PA TV host glorifies terrorist's "self-sacrifice operation in the occupied Interior"; Terrorist's brother states, "I`m proud of what he did"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 25, 2014
Official PA TV program For You, on jailed terrorist Ahmad Othman Kafina from Nablus

Official PA TV host: “Our episode today is with the family of prisoner Ahmad Othman Kafina, who has been imprisoned for 9 years. The settlements that surround his village of Sawiya from every side and his observation of the injustice [of the occupation] strengthened his national zealousness, which pressed him to carry out a self-sacrifice operation (i.e., terror attack) in the occupied Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel). This operation caused him to be imprisoned by those who have no mercy in their hearts.” …
Host: “Did you notice a change in him? Did you anticipate that he would carry out a self-sacrifice operation?”
Ahmad Kafina’s brother Samih Othman Kafina: “No, but at the same time I am proud of what he did. I tell you as his older brother and as his father (as an older brother he apparently views him as a son –Ed.) that I am proud of how my son is a hero and carried out this kind of resistance. I do not regret it.” …
Voiceover by host: “We will die so that the homeland will live, and we will be imprisoned in the name of freedom and in the name of the establishment of the Palestinian state whose capital is Jerusalem.”

Ahmad Othman Kafina – Palestinian Fatah-affiliated terrorist who murdered Israeli Kinneret Ben Shalom Hajbi, and wounded 4 others in a stabbing attack on a taxi shuttle van from Petah Tikva to Tel Aviv on Feb. 5, 2006. After boarding the van Kafina pulled out a knife and began stabbing passengers. Kafina then pursued passengers who fled the van until he was subdued by an Israeli security guard and an Israeli civilian. Under investigation Kafina said that he had come to Petah Tikva to kill Jews. Kafina is serving 1 life sentence.
Official PA daily op-ed: "Palestine was called Palestine even before Abraham"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 21, 2014
Headline: “Do not Islamize the [Palestinian] issue”
Excerpt of op-ed by Hanan Bakir, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“Several years ago head of the Jewish Association in Norway Rolf Kirschner wrote an article in which he claimed that Palestine or the Palestinians did not exist in history, and that this is the historical Land of Israel, and we are nothing but groups that harass this state!
I answered him in an article that did not go near religion; I just gathered for him all the verses in the holy book (i.e., the Bible) that note Palestine and the land of the Palestinians. [I said] that their God turned to them only as strangers in the land of Palestine, and said to them ‘Be strangers in the land of the Palestinians’ (sic., see note below). I argued with him through history and his holy book! I asked the editor in chief to send him an invitation to a debate on the history of the area and its residents, in any media outlet he wished, and he refused. I argued with the journalist with historical facts, and he answered: ‘In any case it is no longer your land, and you need to forget it!’
Palestine was called Palestine even before Abraham, the father of the three religions. So why do you, some of my people, want to distort our history, so that it will be less than 2,000 years old?”

The quote: “Be strangers in the land of the Palestinians” is an apparent misappropriation of the medieval Jewish scholar Ramban’s commentary to Genesis 26:2, in which he explains that God said to Isaac: “Dwell now in this land, in the land of the Philistines, for I will give it to you and your seed.”

PA daily op-ed: Arab Canaanites are ancestors of the Palestinians, and the history of “Palestine” is “purely Arab and Islamic”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 23, 2014
Op-ed by Fatah Revolutionary Council member Bakr Abu Bakr, regular columnist for the official PA daily:
“Should we strive for the militant way of thinking, according to which we cannot relinquish even a single grain of [our] demands or of Palestinian land, on which no non-Arab race has ever tread without being driven out? Palestine was never the cradle of any of the prophets of Israel (the extinct Yemenite Arab tribe, to which the Jews living in Palestine today bear no relation) [parenthesis in source], nor did it ever serve as the setting for any temple or the other Biblical myths. How will we correct history and turn it [Palestine] into clear fact? Will we bear on our shoulders today the trust of the Arab, Islamic and Christian [character] of Palestine through the power of thought, history, facts and the true scientific narrative versus the false Israeli narrative, which is full of fairy tales? ... We are at the beginning of the path started by the founder of the Palestinian state in the 18th century, Daher Al-Omar Al-Zaidani, followed by Yasser Arafat, and the Arab Canaanites and purely Arab and Islamic history that preceded them.”

Note: Daher Al-Omar Al-Zaidani, an Arab native of Ottoman-controlled Galilee, was the independent ruler of Northern Palestine in the mid-18th century. Al-Omar founded the modern city of Haifa and fortified numerous cities, creating – with foreign assistance – an autonomous territory that was legitimized by the Ottoman authorities, who awarded him the title of “Sheikh of the Galilee”. Remembered for his relatively enlightened economic policies and tolerance toward Jews and Christians, Al-Omar is often cited as a pioneer of Arab liberation from foreign occupation and – by some contemporary authors – as a forerunner of Palestinian nationalism.
Governor of Jericho: “Palestine’s people has been on its land for thousands of years”
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Oct. 30, 2014
“District Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley Majed Al-Fatiani said that all the invaders and travelers through the land of Palestine, no matter how arrogant and conceited they may be, will [eventually] leave, for Palestine’s people has been on its land for thousands of years, and is armed with the willpower to stand resolute and remain on its land. [Al-Fatiani] made these statements during a meeting with a delegation of women from the Orthodox club in the village of Ibelin this afternoon at the district seat in downtown Jericho… District Governor Al-Fatiani also said that the Palestinian people is one nation – whether on its land and the land of its ancestors in Jericho, Haifa, Nazareth, Jenin, Rafah or Jerusalem, or in the countries of the diaspora, to where it was forced to flee and emigrate by the occupation authorities.”
Abbas’ advisor: Palestinians are descendants of Jebusite Canaanites, who built Jebus, Jerusalem, 5,000 years ago
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 24, 2014
Official PA TV broadcast the Friday sermon from Yasser Arafat’s mausoleum in Ramallah. The sermon was delivered by Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs:
Mahmoud Al-Habbash: “Our forefathers and historical lineage, the Jebusite Canaanites, built Jebus, Jerusalem, the City of Peace – the Canaanites called it the City of Peace – 5,000 years ago. Our presence in Jerusalem has not ceased for 5,000 years. Nations and occupations have passed through, and colonialism, whether brief or long. It came and left, but the people of Jerusalem stayed. These transients will move on, while the people of Jerusalem will stay. They have no place in Jerusalem. Jerusalem is ours, not theirs.”
PA daily: Synagogue in northern Israel dates to Roman period; Gazans are descendants ‎of biblical Samson
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 24, 2014
‎“A spectacular mosaic discovered in a ‎synagogue in the Galilee during ‎excavations, which were renewed this ‎summer for the third season, shows ‎Samson the Giant not as he is usually ‎described in folktales, [but] as a regular ‎man – not a giant.‎
In July 2012, archaeological sources ‎announced the discovery of a synagogue ‎dating from the end of the Roman ‎period, between the fourth and fifth ‎centuries CE, during archaeological digs ‎at the Huqoq site in the western Galilee…‎
The discovery of Jewish synagogues from ‎that period, or the early Islamic period, is ‎not rare in Palestine…‎
The legend of Samson and Delilah, which ‎took place on the land of Palestine and ‎Gaza, has greatly influenced modern art ‎around the world, [including] cinema, ‎music, visual arts, novels and poems. ‎These days, Gaza is continuing to ‎produce legends about resolve in the face ‎of ongoing aggression, by those who see ‎themselves as the descendants of ‎Samson – who, according to the legend, ‎found no alternative but to destroy the ‎house of worship with its inhabitants, in ‎what is considered to be the first suicide ‎operation in human writing. The ‎legendary Samson may have died with his ‎enemies, [but] Gaza has lived, and still ‎lives, to write its stories, which surpass [all] ‎legends.”‎

Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs: “The Palestinians have been on this land for 5,000 years. They didn't leave it. Nations came and nations went, empires came and empires went, but the Palestinians are permanent here like the olive tree, rooted here like the mountains, the mountains we see in Palestine. We were here with them and will not leave them until Allah's [Day of] Judgment (i.e., Resurrection Day).”

Official PA TV broadcast the Friday sermon from the Khaled Bin Al-Walid Mosque in Ein Munjid. The sermon was delivered by PA Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash.
PA Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "We have been on this land for 5,000 years, perhaps the Palestinian nation itself. Of course, over the course of all these years and long centuries, for over 5,000 years, Many empires and nations came to this land, to Jerusalem, one after the other, They came and went, lived here for a certain period of time, and then left. But the essential substance that remained -- like the rocks of this land, like the grains of sand of this land, like the water of this land, like the air of this land, like the olive tree of this land -- the essential substance that stayed is the Palestinian people. There was no period in history without the presence of the Palestinian people on this land. We are the salt of this earth, we are its essence, we are its air and water and we will never leave it. Many transients left and will leave... This land is ours. The Nakba (i.e., "the catastrophe," Palestinian term for establishment of State of Israel), believe me, the Nakba will pass, just as the others who passed. The foreigners, the imperialism of the Crusaders, lived here for more than 92 years, and then scattered and left. The Tatars came and then left. Others came and left and the land remained with its people, its sons. The Palestinians remained in Palestine, and they will stay until Allah inherits the earth."

Official PA TV broadcast the documentary Return to Al- Abbasiyya, about the village of Al-Abbasiyya, which was destroyed in 1948; a neighborhood of the Israeli town of Yehud was constructed on its ruins.
The film’s narrator speaks with an elderly Yemenite Jew from Yehud.
Film narrator: “These Mamluk graves, from the Mamluk period – when they came to Palestine, they came to the Canaanites. We are here, the Canaanite Arabs, we’ve been on the land of Palestine for thousands of years. You’re the sons of Isaac. Who are we the sons of?”
Yemenite Jew: “Ishmael.”
Film narrator: “Ishmael. We are…”
Yemenite Jew: “Brothers.”
Film narrator: “But you weren’t here in the land. You came here, then left again, isn’t that so? You passed through, and didn’t settle here. The people of the land are the Canaanites, right?”
Yemenite Jew: “Right, before…”
Film narrator: “The Arab tribes lived here. Where did you live, in Yemen?”
Yemenite Jew: “Yes.”
Film narrator [ironically]: “You’re great.”
Yemenite Jew: “What did they tell us in Yemen? ‘Go to your country, to Palestine.’”
Abbas rep: Palestinian presence in Jerusalem is 5000 years old, Israel threatens the city's Islamic-Christian identity

“The talks at the International Conference for the Support of Jerusalem, organized by the UN, the Organization for Islamic Cooperation and the Turkish Foreign Ministry, began in the Turkish capital, Ankara, yesterday [May 12, 2014], with the participation of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ representative, [PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash…
In the speech [given in the name] of the President [Abbas], Al-Habbash asserted that Palestinian presence in Jerusalem dates back over 5,000 years, and that the Palestinians are the only permanent element in Jerusalem, while the others came and went. Al-Habbash described the grave dangers threatening Jerusalem under the Israeli occupation – despite the fact that nobody in the world recognizes Israel’s sovereignty over it. He called on all powers, parties and governments to cooperate in defending Jerusalem and protecting its Islamic-Christian identity.”

The independent Palestinian TV channel Awdah hosted Fatah Central Committee member and Commissioner for Overseas Fatah Branch Affairs Dr. Jamal Muhaisen on its program The Political Situation:
Fatah Central Committee member and Commissioner for Overseas Fatah Branch Affairs Dr. Jamal Muhaisen: “I say that a democratic [state] is incompatible with a Jewish [state] or a nation [state].The current Israeli mindset, in my opinion, takes us back to the days of Hitler, when he distinguished between the German nation and the other nations of the world. Today, the Israeli side is also trying to distinguish between the Jews as a nation – I’m not talking about the Jews as a religion – and the Arab nation, who are the original inhabitants of the land.”

President of Palestinian college: “Palestinian church was active before any other church in the world”

“On the third day of the Christ at the Checkpoint Conference organized by the Bethlehem Bible College with the participation of an elect group of theologians and Evangelical Christian leaders from around the world, the lecturers demonstrated the reality of life in the Palestinian territories…
Dr. Mitri Raheb, President of the Diyar Consortium and President of the Dar Al-Kalima College, gave a lecture on the Palestinian Church, which was active before any other church in the world…
Raheb added that although Palestine had experienced and been subjected to several occupations between the present occupation and the ancient one, the original Palestinians, Christians and Muslims, had lived side by side…
In addition, he noted that the racist Zionist aspirations began in 1831, with a racist initiative of the Zionist Christians, who wrote lies and racist speeches in which they claimed that Palestine was unpopulated – [claims] which later served as a basis for the Zionist lie, which planned to dominate not just Palestine, but several [other] countries as well, such as Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Egypt.”
PA daily op-ed: "We were born here thousands of years before them [Jews]”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 26, 2014
Op-ed by Baha Rahal:
“My uncle Salah spoke to me this morning, and said, ‘recognizing the Jewishness of the state is not all I fear; what I fear even more is what will [come] after this declaration, if it ever happens – because they won’t be satisfied with this, and will demand more of us; for example, that we testify in their favor that they are the sons of Sarah and that we are the sons of Hagar, and that our mother was her mistress’ maid, and that we agree to their narrative and recognize it for them.
But then, they will say to us, ‘you are the maid’s sons, and the maid cannot bequeath [property] nor can [her property] be inherited…’ And the truth is clear and there is no need for too much analysis. Deep down, they understand that we are the true owners of the land, and that we were born here thousands of years before them; that they have no right to be here and that, in the eyes of the world and history, they are nothing but an ephemeral occupying force – no more, no less. Therefore, they want to extract a legitimization of their presence from us, which will protect them and grant them a right they don’t have, from those with the original right.”
Official PA Daily claims Palestinians lived on the land 2,300 years ago
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 20, 2014
Headline: “2,300-year-old Palestinian village discovered”
“The Israel Antiquities Authority has announced the discovery of a 2,300-year- old Palestinian village. The village was discovered during salvage excavations carried out by the Israeli authority in preparation for the laying of a natural gas pipeline from the coastal plain to Jerusalem.
It is not known why the site was abandoned, but the reasons might have been financial. As archeologist Yuval Baruch explains: ‘It is possible that the abandonment of villages and farms at the end of the Hasmonean [period] or the beginning of the reign of Herod is related to Herod’s gigantic building projects, especially in Jerusalem. We believe that a large, collective migration took place from the villages to the capital [of people who went] to work in these projects.’”

[PA] chief negotiator and Palestinian fighter Erekat, a member of the Fatah Central Committee, said this to Livni at the Security Conference in Munich, Germany.
At the same time, Mahmoud Al-Aloul, a member of the Central Committee of that same liberation movement conducting the peaceful popular resistance in Palestine (i.e., Fatah), explained what Jesus, the messenger of love and peace, meant when he said ‘salt of the earth’: [standing] beside the holy stones of the homes in the village of Ein Hijleh in the Jordan Valley, [Al-Aloul] said: ‘The Jordan Valley is Palestinian and the village of Ein Hijleh is [on] the land of the Deir Hijleh church, and was originally a Palestinian Canaanite village on the route connecting the Dead Sea to Beit Shean.”
Abbas rep claims Palestinians descended from Canaanites who lived 10,000 years ago

Official PA TV Live broadcast the first convention of the Palestinian Bar Association Union that discussed “Palestine and International Law.” Fatah Central Committee Member and PA chief negotiator Saeb Erekat represented PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. The symbol of the European Union appeared on the banner behind the stage, and an EU representative addressed the gathering.
Fatah Central Committee member Erekat: “Concerning the Israeli side repeatedly saying that Israel is a ‘Jewish state’ – some say they intend to sabotage the refugees’ right to return, by this term. Some say they want to harm the status of Palestinian residents in the ’48 territories (i.e. Israel). You are in the city of Jericho. Our story began in this city 10,000 years ago when the Natufians founded it. The Canaanites were [here] 5,500 years before Joshua burned it down. Whoever asks me to accept Israel as a Jewish state, is asking me to alter my history, to change my religion, to revise my culture. That is not going to happen. He wants us to say it is a Jewish state, meaning that the land belonged to the Jews and that we are strangers to it.”

Note: The Natufian culture was a sedentary, hunter-gatherer, Mesolithic culture that lived in the Levant region of the Near East between about 13,000-9,800 BCE.

Regarding the negotiation process, Erekat said: ‘There have been no direct negotiations with the Israeli side since the fifth of last month [November 2013]; rather there are American-Palestinian and American-Israeli talks.’
Erekat added: ‘In order to narrow the gaps, President Mahmoud Abbas sent a letter to American President Barack Obama, which contained all that is in our power and not in our power. We will not accept the Jewishness of Israel, which will harm the refugee cause and harm the Palestinians of the Interior (i.e., Israel), and most dangerously – will alter history and religion as though we were never on this land.’ […]
According to Erekat, the letter included ‘non-acceptance of any interim agreement or extension of the negotiation period.’”

Jesus was a Palestinian and Canaanites were the root of "Palestinian identity"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 24, 2013
Regular columnist Adel Abd Al-Rahman for the official PA daily:
“Today humanity is celebrating the birth of Jesus by conducting mass in churches all over the world in honor of the birth of the messenger of love and peace who was persecuted by the Jews from the first day he raised the banner of the New Testament. When it seemed to them (i.e., the Jews) that they had caught him, they crucified him (see explanation below), and to this very day they persecute him through incessant attacks against the Arab Palestinian people…
Jesus, son of the Palestinian people…
Jesus belongs to all human beings, and he will continue to belong to all Christians from all nations and peoples no matter what community or school of thought they are from. This [is true even though] his Palestinian national identity is undeniable, for he was a son of this land and he laid the foundation for the Canaanite identity (there were Canaanites thousands of years BCE – Ed.) that is the root of Palestinian identity.”

Note: According to classical Islam, Jesus was not actually crucified. The people thought they had crucified him, but in fact Allah had lifted Jesus to heaven, and whoever/whatever the Jews crucified (according to some Islamic sources, it was not a human) was not actually Jesus.
Official PA daily denies ancient Jewish connection to Israel while falsely claiming ancient Palestinian heritage

‎“The debate surrounding the identity of ‎the ‘State of Israel’ and the identity of its ‎citizens since its establishment in 1948 is ‎still ongoing, and ‘Israel’ may well be the ‎only [country] in the world that refuses to ‎grant its name as a national identity to its ‎citizens.‎
The real reasons for the disagreement in ‎Israel about a citizenship that would ‎define the national identity of the state ‎and its citizens, from among the national ‎identities offered – Israeli, Jewish and ‎Hebrew – arise from huge historical, legal ‎and religious obstacles, which prevent ‎Israeli identity from being used as the ‎national identity of the Zionist state and its ‎citizens… ‎
Genetic ‎analysis, scientifically revealed that the ‎European Ashkenazi Jews, who adopted ‎the Jewish religion in the 7th century CE, ‎are from the Aryan race, and have no ‎connection to Semites...‎
‎The Oriental Talmud of the Oriental Jews ‎who converted the Ashkenazim from their ‎pagan religion to Judaism, is the ‎‎‘Palestinian Talmud, [or] Jerusalem ‎Talmud.’ ‎
This Talmud was written thousands of ‎years ago, ‘in the ancient Palestinian ‎Jewish Aramaic language,’ meaning the ‎language of the Canaanite Palestinians. ‎It’s enough for us to know that the name ‎of the Israeli newspaper, The Jerusalem ‎Post, was, from its founding in 1932 until ‎the establishment of the Zionist state in ‎‎1948, The Palestine Post.’”‎

PA TV program Palestine This Morning interviewed Activities Coordinator at the An-Najah National University’s Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Jaber Khdeir about the Museum of Folklore and Ancient Tools that was built under the university’s auspices.
Dr. Jaber Khdeir: “The Israeli occupation is trying to steal this [Palestinian] heritage. Trying to steal the Palestinian land and the [identity of the] Palestinian man. And we tell everyone that the land of Palestine [is] the land where, first of all, human culture was born. In this way we tell the Israeli occupier: ‘You have no legacy in this land, you have no existence in this land. We, the Palestinians, built this land, built these cities. The Palestinian human being is a creator of industry, a creator of agriculture, a creator of cities, and creator of culture. The agriculture was created in Palestine. The first ten cities built in the world are in Palestine.’ That is why we say that it is the Palestinian human being who created this culture 6,500 years ago. These Jews have no existence on this Palestinian land. They were passers-by and they will continue to be passers-by.”
PA daily op-ed by Fatah official: “Canaanite-Palestinians” lived in Jerusalem for 5,000 years

Opinion piece by Bakr Abu Bakr, member of Fatah Revolutionary Council (since 2009) and regular columnist for official PA daily:
“There are many dimensions to the question of Jerusalem, just as there are many dimensions to the Palestinian issue…
Firstly: The historical time dimension of the city of Jerusalem is broad, since for 5,000 years Canaanite-Palestinians have been in this land that was ignored by invaders throughout history… Fifthly: …We still see only crumbs from the money to support Jerusalem’s resolve in the Arab, Islamic and world-wide dimension, while the Palestinians and Jerusalemites alone challenge, resist, and substantiate - by standing firm on their land in the face of the most horrendous kinds of persecution, - [the claim] that our “Al-Quds” (Arab name for Jerusalem) is not “Jerusalem,” and the Jerusalem of the Bible was never here, as has been proven by modern research and excavations.”

By Osama Al-Issa:
Headline: “Palestinians imported cinnamon bark 3,000 years ago”
“There are many proofs that Palestine imported cinnamon 3,000 years ago, according to a new study on relations between ancient Palestine and other countries in the region and in the world. Researchers examined the contents of 27 jugs from five 3,000-year-old archaeological sites in Palestine and found that ten of the jugs contained the cinnamaldehyde compound that gives cinnamon its aroma. This indicates that cinnamon spice was stored in these jugs. The hypothesis is that Palestine imported cinnamon from the Far East, as Israeli researchers have noted in a new study, and clearly, Palestine was connected to a broad trade network with other countries of the region. For example, researchers have found black pepper, which originated in India, in the mummy of Ramses II, the Egyptian pharaoh who lived more than 3,200 years ago. At that time the Phoenicians, who settled on the Palestinian coasts, sailed the Mediterranean Sea.”
PA TV: An “Arab Canaanite” ruled Jerusalem 6,000 years ago
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Aug. 21, 2013
PA TV program Religion and the World interviewed Palestinian history scholar Muhammad Abu Saleh about the anniversary of the arson at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Abu Saleh: “The Jebusites, under Arab Canaanite Malkizedek’s rule, who came from the Arabian Peninsula approximately 6,000 years ago, was the first to establish the city as a walled city. Ibrahim, the friend of Allah, visited him, as is evidenced by what is told about Ibrahim (i.e., Abraham) in the year 1850 BC, when he came from the land of Uhr which is in Iraq, he came to Palestine, first – of course – to Haran and later to Palestine, and he lived in Jerusalem with Malkizedek…(see note below) As of now, the imaginary relics, that allow [them to] claim that there was a Temple at Al-Aqsa have not been found, and they (i.e., the people who claim there was a Temple) are in a quandary. Some say [the Temple] was on this site [Al-Aqsa], and some say [it was] at Ras Al-Amud, and some say near the Tower of David. And at all those sites, to this day, no traces of their Temple have ever been found."

Note: The article implies that the same Malkizedek who was to meet Ibrahim, had led the Jebusites to Jerusalem 2,000 years earlier. PMW has translated the Arabic as it appears, and has not corrected mistake(s) in content.

Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 15, 2013
“The Jabel Mukaber tunnel in the Roman aqueduct, which brought water from Solomon’s Pools to Jerusalem, is one of the most important tunnels of that aqueduct. It is considered a marvel of engineering, and is still of great interest 2,000 years after it was built. This is consistent with the fact that it was the national project of the Palestinians in its time.”

Note: The tunnel in question is usually called the “upper aqueduct” and was built in stages by Herod at the end of the first century B.C., then by Pontius Pilate during the first century A.D., and finally by the Tenth Roman Legion in the second century.

“In an announcement published yesterday [June 28, 2013] the [Israeli Arab] Al-Aqsa Institute for Islamic Trusts and Heritage rejected claims of an expert from the so-called ‘Israeli Antiquities Authority.’ [The expert] said that archaeological finds such as stones, jewelry and seals have been discovered in the area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and claimed that they are Hebrew ‘archaeological finds’ from what he falsely called the First and Second Temple periods.
The Institute warned against these lies and myths and said that they are figments of imagination. It stated that international and even Israeli archaeologists have proven through extensive, scientific and objective excavations and searches that there are no signs or remnants indicating the existence of a First or Second Temple in the area and surroundings of the Al-Aqsa Mosque or in the city of Jerusalem. It emphasized that the Canaanite Arabs were the first to settle and build Jerusalem. They named it Jebus and lived there uninterruptedly for thousands of years. [The Al-Aqsa Institute added that] the Islamic period in Jerusalem lasted for 14 centuries, and as to the Hebrews or ‘Jews’ – for years they lived there only as passersby.
The Al-Aqsa Institute noted that the Israeli occupation and its branches, specifically the ‘Antiquities Authority’ sponsor campaigns of manifestos, media campaigns and the dissemination of information about the existence of ‘archaeological finds’ throughout Jerusalem, specifically near the Al-Aqsa [Mosque]. This is a feverish attempt to invent an imaginary Hebrew hist

And perhaps the most prominent among those performing this act are the Bible scholars, who form a cohesive and strong network of Western scholars that identify with Zionism and its ideological foundations.”

Headline: "The resurrection of Jesus, the resurrection of the state"

Jesus, may he rest in peace, the virtuous patriotic Palestinian forefather, who renewed the Old Testament, split away from its followers, brought forth his New Testament and spread it among mankind - which led the Jews to persecute him until they caught him, crucified him and murdered him. Afterwards, he rose from the dead like the phoenix and set out to spread his teachings that still exist and will exist as long as mankind exists.
Jesus' story is his [Palestinian] people's story; the Zionist movement - tool of the capitalist West - wanted to falsify historical facts, to exile and crucify the Palestinian Arab nation and then murder it by means of ethnic cleansing... But the Palestinians, Jesus' descendants, rose from the ashes, like the phoenix, from the ruins of the Nakba (i.e., "the catastrophe," the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) and the Naksa (i.e., "the setback," Palestinian term for Israel's victory in the Six Day War.) They dressed their wounds and raised the flag of nationality again by founding parties and factions...
Easter is a distinct [Palestinian] national holiday which doesn't concern only Christians but rather all Palestinians believing in the different religions - Islam, Christianity and Judaism."
Mayor of Ramallah: Jesus' tomb proves Palestinians have been in land thousands of years
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, May 6, 2013
Mayor of Ramallah Musa Hadid: "In the Church of the Holy Sepulchre there's the tomb of Jesus. It shows that our Palestinian nation's connection to Jerusalem is thousands of years old (i.e., claiming Jesus is Palestinian)... It's obvious to the whole world that we, the sons of the Palestinian nation who adhere to Christianity, are the Palestinian nation's original sons. We have been the inhabitants of this land for thousands of years. Those who came to us from European countries are new invaders in this region."

“Canaanite Palestinians” have been in land “for the past 10,000 years”

From an article by Hassan Saleh:
“In the heart of Palestine there is a city in which many show an interest … Because it is the oldest inhabited city, the oldest ancient city in the world (ten thousand years.) This in addition to its national significance and importance for humanity, which prove the existence of the Canaanite Palestinians on this land for the past ten thousand years…”
Palestinians are descendants of Canaanites and the land is “Canaanite Palestinian”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Feb. 9, 2013
PA TV News reported live on the Palestinian outpost of “Kinaan” (Canaan) near Yatta.
Rateb Jabura, the Coordinator of the National Committee Against the Wall and Settlements: “From the early morning hours we began building this village, the Kinaan (Canaan) Village. This name strengthens and emphasizes our thousands of years’ existence and history in these places, for our Canaanite fathers and forefathers are the ones who planted and built cities and created a world-class civilization.”
After the Palestinians were ordered to evacuate the outpost, PA TV correspondent Ali Dar Ali said: “It seems that the citizens are not accepting this, and will not obey this decision. This is a decision of the occupation and it has no validity. This land is Canaanite Palestinian [land].”
PA daily: Palestinians date back to the Iron Age
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 27, 2012
“The Israel Antiquities Authority announced yesterday that in the Bab Al-Wad area on the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway, an Iron Age shrine was discovered that Israeli archaeologists attribute to the period of the Judean Kingdom in Palestine.
The Authority said in its announcement that the newly discovered shrine and archaeological artifacts provide rare evidence of the rituals in the Jerusalem area during the beginning of the Kingdom, as they call it. Among other things, they found small statues of bearded men…
The Israeli archaeologists think that the [newly] discovered shrine is one of a number of many shrines that were spread out over what they call the Judean Kingdom prior to a process of reforms at the end of the Kingdom that terminated all ceremonies outside the Temple in Jerusalem.
There is no independent opinion [confirming] the new find, but it does prove – through the small statues that almost certainly were part of religious rituals – that Palestinians in the Iron Age, while worshipping one god, still maintained customs they inherited from previous eras.”
Excavations near Al-Aqsa Mosque “affirm… a purely Arab civilization, Canaanite Jebusite”
Source: Radio Voice of Palestine (Fatah), Dec. 1, 2012
PA radio program From Jerusalem discusses the Israeli excavations near the Al-Aqsa Mosque. PA radio host Rim Al-Daudi interviews Dr. Jamal Amer, expert on Jerusalem and lecturer on urban planning at Bir Zeit University.
Jamal Amer: “This is no structural reinforcement and it is not renovation… This is clear-cut destruction… of Arab Islamic Palestinian antiquities rooted in history, that all scientific circles and all researchers and anyone with expertise in Jerusalem, all affirm that this is a purely Arab civilization, Canaanite Jebusite. But an indication of the occupation’s hatred of this culture is its using – most unprofessionally – all the heavy equipment and bulldozers to destroy relics and to alter the cultural picture, and draw a new landscape with new vistas that are from Jewish Torah fables. They write and chisel and attach newly-made slogans from the Torah that they fashioned with their own hands, on Islamic and Arab relics dating from 4,000 years B.C., that is 6,000 years ago...
They are the world’s masters of counterfeit. They are the strongest and most preferred among those who managed to fabricate history. They fabricated the Torah itself, and now they’re planting their forgeries in Palestinian earth, while everyone knows that their own researchers say that ‘We don’t have any Temple here,’ and at the Hebrew University they entirely admit that their excavations have led to nothing… So all they have is one ruse, with which they laugh at the whole world: They take a known Islamic shape – the six-sided star – from Islamic architecture, but [the prophet] Daud (i.e., David), may he rest in peace, saw it on Islamic construction and on what Palestinians had built, and he liked it and he took it and put it on his iron shield… They took this shape and thought of it as their own, and this is yet another fo
PA daily: “Early Biblical writings… mention Palestinians scores of times”

“Likudniks claim, as Moshe Feiglin has said, that his name was included in the party’s list of candidates because we are a community of Arabic-speakers who ‘suddenly’ turned ourselves into a nation, and that we are parasites. Like them, we all have to answer in one voice, that this riffraff – fools when it comes to history, society, and even early Biblical writings themselves that mention Palestinians scores of times – is not fit to lead any society and are not fit for politics, and that the state that they lead does not deserve to belong in the world, in the region, or in the twenty-first century. The world knows that they are the parasites, and they are the ones who were only recently invented, and there is nothing wrong with people among us saying that they are the parasites in Haifa, in Jaffa, in Acre, and in all the territories occupied in [19]48, and that their leaving here is a human and environmental demand – if not through an agreement then through a historical process that will be authorized by the UN track and the rules of history itself. These are a track and rules that settlers cannot oppose – [settlers] who are robbers, scattered lunatics who joined together around insane aims.”
PA Parliament speaker: The Palestinian “nation has lived on its land… over thousands of years”

Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 16, 2012
PA daily op-ed by Wael Barghouti:
"Since its establishment in 1948, Israel has succeeded in presenting itself as an oasis of democracy that sprouted in a vast wilderness of tyranny. The West swallowed this lie and defended it, thinking it [Israel] an extension of [its own] democracy.
Strangely, the West ignored the fact that this hybrid plant grew in soil whose inhabitants had been uprooted from it by the force of arms – [weapons] that the democratic West helped to supply, in order to build this new 'democracy' on the ruins of a society that had lived on its land for thousands of years…
The Iraqi Jewish writer and former Communist, Sami Michael, has sharply criticized the racist tendencies and the ethnic rift in Israel…
He said that 'Israel is in danger if the country's leadership fails to understand that Israel is located in the Middle East, and not at the end of the earth,' and added that 'Israel is the most racist country in the free world.’ Thus he awarded Israel certification as the most racist country, meaning, [Israel] is a “blood-cratic”; (‘dam–cratic’ dam=blood in Arabic) not a demo-cratic state.”

PA TV newsreader talks on the phone with Ibrahim Kharisha, Palestinian ambassador to Geneva.
Kharisha: "We are the owners of Palestine. The Palestinians [were] in Palestine before the Jews came to us from Egypt, via Sinai. Before Christianity sprouted in Palestine, and before Islam arrived from the 'Hijaz', Palestinians have been in Palestine. And everyone remembers that in 2010, we celebrated the 10,000th anniversary of the establishment of the Palestinian city, Jericho…
The Palestinians have the right to implement international legal decisions, starting from the Partition Plan, in '48 (i.e., actually in 1947), and the Palestinian's right of return to their homes."
PA daily claims that Herodium (built in Judaea in the 1st century BCE) is a Palestinian site
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 19, 2012
Headline: "Considered one of the most prominent Palestinian landmarks – occupation authorities and settlers hurry to Judaize Mount Furadis (i.e., Herodium)"
"The occupation authorities and the settler Gush Etzion [Regional] Council have made great strides in the Judaization of one of the most important Palestinian landmarks - which has become a central focus of tourism for the Israelis – as part of the unholy alliance between the settlers and the occupation government and its branches, such as the Nature and Parks Authority.
The occupation authorities have laid their hand on the Herodion fortress, said to have been built by Herod, the Edomite governor of the Roman province of Palaestina, and have turned it into a 'national park'. Occupation authorities have awarded the settler Etzion Council freedom of action at the site, whose local [Arabic] name is Mount Furadis. A grant from the Israeli government has made it possible for the settler council to 'develop' the site so as to absorb a greater number of tourists, whose number continues to grow. It has become one of the sites that draws the greatest number of visitors, especially since the Israeli archaeologist Yehuda (Ehud – ed.) Netzer announced that he had located Herod's grave at the site. Many people, including Israeli archaeologists, have cast doubt on this announcement. Netzer's dramatic death while he worked at the site in October 2010, has added a mythological dimension to the story of his love for Herod and his illegal excavations at the site."

Note: The Herodian fortress south of Jerusalem was built in the 1st century BCE by King Herod, the (Jewish) king of the province of Judaea.
Moses was a Muslim who led Palestinian Muslims out of Egypt and liberated Palestine
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Feb. 15, 2012
Interview with Dr. Omar Ja'ara, lecturer at An-Najah University in Nablus, and specialist in Israeli affairs on PA TV:
"We must make clear to the world that David in the Hebrew Bible is not connected to David in the Quran, Solomon in the Hebrew Bible is not connected to Solomon in the Quran, and neither is Saul or Joshua son of Nun [of the Bible]. We have a great leader, Saul, [in the Quran] who defeated the nation of giants and killed Goliath. This is a great Muslim victory. The Muslims of the Children of Israel went out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses, and unfortunately, many researchers deny the Exodus of those oppressed people who were liberated by a great leader, like Moses the Muslim, the believing leader, the great Muslim, who was succeeded by Saul, the leader of these Muslims in liberating Palestine. This was the first Palestinian liberation through armed struggle to liberate Palestine from the nation of giants led by Goliath. This is our logic and this is our culture."

Palestinian ambassador to India: “Palestine and its people are mentioned more than 250 times” in the Bible

Headline: "India: Ceremony of solidarity marking the raising of the Palestinian flag at UNESCO headquarters"
"Palestinian ambassador to India, Adli Sadeq, explained the negative ramifications of the position of Israel and America, which are furious over the raising of the Palestinian flag at UNESCO…
The ambassador spoke about the statements by the candidate in the American Republican Party primaries, Newt Gingrich, against our people, in describing this people as 'invented'. He [Sadeq] said that this ignoring of the existence of the Palestinian people and its rights reflects logic which mocks intelligence, culture, and the Bible itself, in which Palestine and its people are mentioned more than 250 times."
PA daily editor: “The Palestinian people is rooted… in the land since before the Smaller and Greater Israel”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Dec. 11, 2011
Editor of official PA daily Hafez Barghouti:
Headline:
"Race of Hypocrisy"
"The latest innovation was declared by [US] Republican candidate Newt Gingrich, when he claimed that the Palestinian people was invented. This statement had already been made by brazen Zionists, from Golda Meir to Herzl, founder of the Zionist movement, but the statement does not erase the reality: The Palestinian people is rooted in history and in the land since before the Smaller and Greater Israel, before the United States and the other states which concentrated settler people [in this land], who had no connection with one another except for the seizure of the land of others, theft of resources, and their destruction… Had some other person said that we were an 'invented' people, perhaps there would be room for discussion. But when this is said by a person [who himself is] from an invented people, such as the American people, it is incomprehensible. We are part of the Arab nation which has been rooted in this entire area for thousands of years, and do not need to emigrate from our land, as the Republican candidate demanded. It is he who must go back to the place where he, and the rest of those who seized the lands of others through force, oppression and settlements, came from. Not us. These claims do not deter us; rather, they intensify our determination to be resolute in the face of settlement and annihilation. None of us was counting on a balanced American policy, because those who have settled in our land, previously settled the American Congress and the entire US. It is they who determine American policy, and the American [presidential] candidates turn into a game in their hand, and into parrots repeating their words and their claims."

He said that these were 'ignorant, inciting and racist' statements. In a press release published in English, a copy of which was obtained by WAFA, Diliani said: 'Our people is of the descendants of the Canaanites or, more precisely, the Jebusite tribe, which lived in their city Jerusalem before the year 3200 BCE. This proves the ignorance of [Republican presidential candidate] Newt Gingrich when it comes to historical foundations and documented facts concerning the Middle East region.'"

g. The Jewish Prof. Shlomo Sand, author of the book The Invention of the Jewish People, says: 'Although the term 'people' is fluid and not very clear, I don't believe that a Jewish people ever existed.' For two thousand years no Jewish state existed on Palestinian Arab land.'"

The 1917 Balfour Declaration was a letter from the British Foreign Minister Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild of the Zionist movement, which expressed Britain's support for "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people." Every year on the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, Palestinian Authority leaders and official media issue harsh statements attacking it.
"Today is the 94th anniversary of the cursed Balfour promise [The Balfour Declaration of 1917], by which Britain awarded the Jews the right to establish a national home in Palestine, based on the false slogan, 'A land without a people for a people without a land'. ... He said, 'This was a historical speech at a historical time and at a historical place.' In response to Netanyahu's speech, he said: 'This was a pale speech that repeated itself and said nothing new; in it he expressed the occupation regime [and said] that it has historical rights to this land, as though the world doesn't know that the Prophet [Muhammad] ascended [to heaven] from the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Netanyahu spoke as though this was the land of his forefathers, forgetting that we have been here for tens of thousands of years.'"

"My dear friend, poet Al-Mutawakkil Taha, former secretary general of the Association of Palestinian writers… and [currently] deputy Minister of Information… resting upon the sword of truth and scientific, objective research, has presented us with a very succinct study about the Al-Buraq Wall…
When the Al-Buraq rebellion broke out, Britain – which was at the time the primary ally of the Zionist movement – established a commission of inquiry known as the Shaw Commission. The commission came to Palestine and met all the parties… and arrived at the proven historical truth that the Al-Buraq Wall was an organic part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that it was its south-western boundary, and that it [the Wall] had no connection to Solomon's Temple, which the Jews claim was destroyed by Rome in the year 70 C.E….
We understand well this wave of fury that is washing over Israel against this study and against Al-Mutawakkil… Will Israel cease to arouse sensitivities and problems and tragedies when it insists on giving Hebrew names to Arab villages that have existed since the days of the Canaanites, for thousands of years?”

"We revive this [Palestinian] heritage and cling to it in order to counter all of the attempts by Israel, by the Israeli occupation, to steal the national heritage and to falsify it with the claim that it is their heritage - from cuisine to clothing, and architecture. Every part of our heritage in our land, they claim is their heritage - even the tunnels they are trying to dig beneath the Al-Aqsa Mosque and under Jerusalem. Many of these tunnels are ancient tunnels that carried water to Jerusalem, and they [Israelis] claim that they are seeking an alleged Temple." Click here to view

He pointed out the inaccuracy of the widespread view that the Palestinians originated with a group of people who emigrated from the Greek [Isles] and settled in Palestine, affirming instead that the Palestinians are Arab Canaanites indigenous to this land."

UN didn't offer Arabs a state in 1947
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Nov. 29, 2008
Dr. Ahmad Subh, Deputy Minister in the PA Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"The International day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Nov. 29 was not picked coincidentally, that's the anniversary of the [1947 UN] Partition Plan.  In the year 1977, the UN General Assembly decided to rehabilitate the Palestinian people, following the historic injustice which happened in 1947, when ‘a birth certificate’ was offered to one state instead of to two states. One state [Israel] was permitted to be established, while the Palestinian state was not permitted to be established."

This is the title of an Arab forum which includes thousands of Americans, foreigners and even Jews, on the well-known Internet site, Facebook... The group demands that Israel be regarded as an occupying entity and not as a country... there is an abundance of information [in the forum] about Palestinian history and about the connection of the Palestinian people to this land, which has, of course, been stolen from us..."

PA TV: The Canaanites were Arabs, Israelis must go
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 20, 2005
PA TV documentary calls for expulsion of Israelis from Israel. (Repeatedly 2005-2007)
"The Arab Canaanites established ports on the coast of the Land of Canaan, known today as Palestine. The ports were Acre, Haifa, ... Caesarea, ... Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gaza and Jaffa...
Palestine was attacked by invaders, but its Arab Canaanite features withstood attempts to change them... [Jaffa] remained Arab in name, because that which is indigenous, remains, while that which is foreign, vanishes...
The doors and windows of the houses ... are watching and expecting the return [of the refugees]...
It is time for you [Israelis] to be gone. Live wherever you like, but don't live among us. It is time for you to be gone. Die wherever you like, but don't die among us. We have the past here. We have the present, the present and the future... So leave our country, our land, our sea, our wheat, our salt, our wounds. Everything. And leave the memories."

Canaanite "forefathers of Palestinians" built the Temple
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Aug. 2, 2004
Two senior Palestinian historians teaching the Palestinian history: that the Bible is a distortion of an origional Islamic text; the Biblical Hebrews were "Bedouin – Arab tribes;" all Biblical prophets were prophets of Islam; there is no connection between Biblical Hebrews and Jews of today; the Canaanite are forefathers of today's Palestinians; Biblical Hebrew tribes were "erased and ceased to exist and no traces were left of them."
Jarir Al-Qidwa, advisor on educational affairs to Arafat:
"The Temple is the fruit of their [Jew's] imagination. In any case, when our nation or our Canaanite forefathers came to Palestine, they built the Temple… in Jerusalem."
Dr. Issam Sissalem, Chairman History Dept., Islamic University, Gaza:
"We should not focus much on what is called the [Biblical] Hebrew tribes, who are in fact Bedouin – Arab tribes. There is no connection between them [Biblical Hebrews] and these Khazar Jews [of Israel today]. Those [Hebrew - Arab] tribes were erased and ceased to exist and no traces were left of them."

Music video on PATV:
"You are phantoms on my land [visuals of Israelis]
And our roots in her are deep [scenes of land]
For a million years it is our homeland
May the conquerors exploit as they will [war scenes]
We came - the dawn of man's creation in the world
And our arrival - the beginning and time
Before us no foot had strode through her [scenes of land]
And calls were not heard
Ours are the caves of her mountains
Ours are her rivers
Ours are her plants, vineyards, the fields
And a waterway there is, faced with fields
And the bones of our fathers that lived on the ground
And under it they died...
This is the beginning [scenes of Yasser Arafat]
This is the beginning
And every beginning is followed by an end [scenes of Al-Aqsa Mosque]
The days are long [war scenes]
The days have always been long
And the course of history - revolution [PA flag flying] ."
