The mother of Martyr (Shahid) Qusai Al-Amour (i.e., rioter killed while throwing rocks at an Israeli border police officer) visited Martyr Qusai Al-Amour [Summer] Camp, and said that it is an honor for her that the camp is named after her Martyr son. She also said: ‘We all are prepared to sacrifice ourselves for the land of the homeland,’ and emphasized ‘the importance of belonging [to the homeland], whatever the price may be, even if it costs us our lives.’”

Qusai Al-Amour – 17-year-old Palestinian rioter who threw rocks at an Israeli border police officer during violent clashes with the Israeli army near the village of Tuqu’ next to Bethlehem on Jan. 16, 2017. The officer responded by shooting and wounding Al-Amour with small metal Ruger bullets, which are considered to be non-lethal and meant for crowd dispersal; Al-Amour later died of his wounds.

Palestinian psychologist: Female terrorist hijackers and murderers carried out “wonderful acts of heroism”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Aug. 4, 2017

Psychologist Jultan Hijazi: "After 1967, the role of women evolved from an institutional stage to a stage of struggle and self-sacrifice. We saw many examples of this, such as Laila Khaled (i.e., participated in 2 plane hijackings), Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., led murder of 37), and Fatima Barnawi (i.e., placed bomb in cinema) who was the first female Palestinian prisoner. These women, through their operations, recorded wonderful acts of heroism that the generations still see as an example... The women also had a role in the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2015 (i.e., terror wave, 2015-2016), and we saw how women attacked the Israeli soldiers at checkpoints in stabbing operations... I want to mention the mother of Martyr Muhammad Farahat (i.e., murdered 5), a Martyr from Gaza. In 2002, I think, she led him to the gate of the Israeli settlement where he carried out a military operation and killed several soldiers (sic., murdered 5 students)... As a mother, I am incapable of doing what she did, but she constitutes an example for the struggle, and she succeeded in strengthening the national values... Women carry out a large role in the children's psychological preparation."

He explained that the process of taking and testing DNA from the body of heroic Martyr Anwar Muhammad Attiyah Sukkar (i.e., suicide bomber, took part in double bombing in which 22 were murdered) - who was born in the Shuja'iya neighborhood on Dec. 10, 1972, originally came from the village of Beit Jirja, and carried out a heroic self-sacrificing operation in Beit Lid with his brother and friend Martyr Salah Abd Al-Hamid Shaker on a Sunday morning, Jan. 22, 1995, which led to the death of more than 20 Israeli soldiers..."

PA daily: “Jerusalem won,” when Israel removed metal detectors at Temple Mount, “thanks to the blood of those who died as Martyrs”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 28, 2017
Headline: “Jerusalem won”
“The occupation did not make do with closing the Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacking its gates, but also carried out acts of defacing and theft of historical manuscripts, sweeping away soil from around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, uprooting trees, and removing ancient stones from the Lion’s Gate and the alleys of the Old City [of Jerusalem], and it also allowed extremist settlers to invade the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas (sic., Israel temporarily closed the Temple Mount following a terror attack there and reopened it with security measures; see note below).
However, thanks to the blood of those who died as Martyrs (Shahids), were wounded, arrested, beaten, and dragged on the ground and in the alleys of Jerusalem; thanks to the throats of those who opposed and remained until the light of morning; thanks to those who withstood the sounds of the bullets, the ambulances, the shouts, and the curses; and thanks to those who distributed food and water to the worshippers and those awaiting victory, Jerusalem won.”

District Governor Ghannam visited the family of Martyr Abu Saleh today and noted that their son achieved the highest Martyrdom (i.e., word play, the Arabic word Shahada also means certificate as in matriculation certificate), and that the hearts of all the members of our people are turned towards their family and all of the families of the Martyrs... District Governor Ghannam gave [the family] a statuette of a bird and emphasized that our child Martyrs, Allah willing, are birds in Paradise. Parallel to this, last night the Martyr's mother dreamed of a bird that appeared on the horizon and told her about the results of her son, who was meant to be among those that excelled in the high school matriculation exams this year."

DFLP calls destruction of monument to terrorist by Israel a "crime whose purpose is to... harm the supreme value of the 'Martyr'"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 1, 2017
“The Democratic Front [for the Liberation of Palestine] condemned the crime committed by the occupation forces early yesterday morning (Friday) [June 30, 2017], when they removed the Martyr (Shahid) Khaled Nazzal monument (i.e., terrorist, responsible for murder of 31) in the center of Jenin, following the wild incitement campaign that [Israeli] occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu led personally. The Front said in a statement published by its Jenin district branch that the occupation forces’ actions constitute a… crime whose purpose is to appropriate the Palestinian national memory and harm the supreme value of the ‘Martyr,’ which is rooted in the experience of our people and its national culture… In its statement, the Front promised that our people and its living forces will thwart these attempts, as has been proven by the popular stand throughout the homeland, the diaspora, and the foreign lands, by which all the streams of our people and its leading activists have expressed adherence to the value of the Martyrs and pride in their heritage and status, as all members of our people, throughout its generations, are proud of it. [The Front] emphasized that Khaled Nazzal, a member of its path, and all of the fighters for Palestine’s freedom and independence, will live on forever in the souls of the members of their people.”

Official PA TV glorifies Ma’alot massacre, terrorists who murdered 22 children and 4 adults are "Martyrs whose souls float in the skies"

Official PA TV narrator on Buy Time in Jerusalem:
"Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) Central Committee member Omar Mahmoud Al-Qassem - one of the symbols of the national prisoners’ movement, and one of its central founders. During his life, he was an outstanding leader, a ferocious fighter, and a proud prisoner, and in his death he is an eternal Martyr... One of his acts of heroism [was] when an armed DFLP squad carried out the Ma’alot operation in the Galilee (i.e., terror attack, 26 murdered) and took [an Israeli] building and hostages. The [Israeli] prison management summoned Al-Qassem... and asked him to talk with the self-sacrificing fighters so they would turn themselves in and release the hostages... When he turned to his comrades, he said: ‘‘O comrades, I am Omar Al-Qassem. Carry out what you came for. Your enemy is treacherous.’’ Immediately after his few words, his comrades responded to the call and blew up the military academy (sic., Netiv Meir Elementary School) so that their souls would float as Martyrs above the skies of Palestine."

Op-ed in PA daily glorifies "Martyrs," condemns Israel for demanding monument to terrorist be taken down
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 25, 2017
Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“One of the new examples of the persecution of the living (i.e., eternal) Martyrs as part of Israeli policy is the government of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s threat to invade Jenin if the [Jenin] Municipality and [Jenin] District refuse to remove the Martyr (Shahid) Khaled Nazzal monument (i.e., terrorist, responsible for murder of 31)... It would appear that there are those who almost submitted to the Israeli extortion, on the pretext of profit-loss considerations... The Martyr Nazzal monument, which was restored by members of the Jenin branch of the Fatah Movement, reflects the conscious and responsible national will, which understands the severity of the structural flaw in the outlook of those who almost damaged the Palestinian narrative (i.e., who temporarily removed the monument due to Israeli pressure). [Those people] did not grasp the dangerous consequences of their wretched step when they acceded to Israel’s will and [the will] of those who act like Israelis, because they are short-sighted and did not see beyond their noses. Therefore, well done fighters of Fatah and the national activity factions, who mobilized to defend the heroic Martyr Khaled Nazzal monument.”

“Yesterday [June 17, 2017] was the 87th anniversary of the execution of the heroes of the Al-Buraq Rebellion (i.e., 1929 Hebron Massacre and riots), Muhammad Jamjoum, Fuad Hijazi, and Ataa Al-Zir (see note below –Ed.), by the British Mandate authorities.
The British Mandate forces arrested Jamjoum, Hijazi, and Al-Zir together with a group of young Palestinians following the Al-Buraq Rebellion... At the time, the Mandate police (sic., court) sentenced 26 Palestinians who took part in defending the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., took part in the Hebron Massacre) to death. Later it lightened the sentences of 23 of them to life, but left the death sentence against Jamjoum, Hijazi, and Al-Zir in place… The day before their execution, the three heroes wrote a letter in which was stated: ‘Now, as we stand before the gates of eternity and give our souls for the holy homeland, precious Palestine, we ask of all Palestinians that our spilled blood and our souls – which will hover in the skies of this beloved land – not be forgotten.’”

Palestinian from Lebanon: “The news that really makes us happy is when we hear about a Martyr… we are proud when we hear the names of the Martyrs”

Official PA TV program One Day We Will Return, on the Shatila refugee camp in Lebanon

Shatila refugee camp resident: “All of our days are full of bitterness, but I want to talk about the beautiful things, about the cohesion and the comradeship, and about how we still stick together. The news that really makes us happy is when we hear about a Martyr (Shahid). It is painful, but we are proud when we hear the names of the Martyrs.”

Op-ed in PA daily glorifies "heroism" of terrorist "Martyrs": Palestinians “will elevate their names,” name institutions after them
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 1, 2017
Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, a regular columnist for the official PA daily

"The Martyrs (Shahids) of the Palestinian Arab people are the symbols of the national struggle. With their great sacrifices they illuminated the path to freedom, independence, and the return [of the refugees], which still continues. The leaders and citizens are in awe of them, as they have defended the just national goals for which they paid with their lives, and for which the [Palestinian] people will continue its struggle until they are fully achieved... Whoever thinks that the Palestinian people can deny their heroic Martyrs is mistaken - children, women, men, and elderly – and primarily the Martyr leaders, the Palestinian national symbols... Out of respect for them, their acts of heroism, and their pioneering in the liberation struggle, and out of pride in their national status, the Palestinian people and its leadership will elevate the names of the Martyrs in the skies of Palestine, and memorialize them by naming squares, universities, schools, streets, cultural centers, and sports clubs after them – even in Arab states, friendly states, and everywhere possible. The people and its national leadership will not fear the sword of terror of Israel, the US, and those who follow them. They will record their struggle on the golden pages of the history of the Palestinian people."

“Today, Thursday [April 27, 2017], is the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Palestinian Liberation Front, one of the PLO factions… The Front has succeeded in carrying out extraordinary military operations (i.e., terror attacks) against the occupation, which led to a large number of Israeli dead and wounded, [including] the self-sacrificing operation in Nahariya on April 22, 1979, led by Martyr (Shahid) Samir Kuntar (i.e., terrorist, murdered 4).”

Fatah condemns as "incitement" Israel's demands to stop paying salaries to terrorists, insists that terrorists are "symbols of our legitimate national struggle"
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Apr. 25, 2017
Headline: "Fatah condemns the Israeli incitement against the [PA] president and the prisoners"
"The East Gaza branch of the Fatah Movement said that it is monitoring with concern the organized and systematic incitement campaign that the occupation state's government is waging against [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership on everything connected to the payment of the living allowances (mukhassasat) to the victims of the occupation and its actions (the Martyrs, wounded, and prisoners) [parentheses in source].
The movement said that it thinks that the goal of the [incitement] campaign is to disrupt the president's meeting with US President [Donald] Trump, which is expected to take place on May 3 [2017] at the White House,
In a statement published by the branch's Commission of Information, Fatah said: 'While the movement strongly condemns the onslaught of inciting lies against President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership, it believes that the families of the Palestinian Martyrs, prisoners, and wounded are symbols of our legitimate national struggle and the conscience of the Palestinian people, and that they are victims of the Israeli occupation and its daily actions, which have deviated from all norms and violated all international laws.’
The movement emphasized: 'The Israeli occupation is the symbol and height of terror, and [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and his racist government are the last ones that can talk about terror, as the acts of his government against the prisoners, children, holy sites, women, and Palestinian land, in addition to the fact that he funds the attacks of the settlers and the occupation soldiers, are the best testimony to the racism and fascism by which this government is characterized.'"
