Suicide terror & Shahada
Martyrs rewarded with 72 Virgins
Suicide terror & Shahada
People who see life as the supreme value have difficulty understanding the mind of the suicide terrorist. Why were so many Palestinians willing and eager to kill themselves in terror attacks against Israel?

In order to create willingness among the population to confront Israel violently, the PA took advantage of the ancient tradition in Islam, Shahada or Death for Allah, which mandates Muslims to aspire to die in combat for Islam. The PA told their people that this ancient tradition also applies to them in confrontation with Israel today.

This indoctrination began shortly after the start of the PA terror campaign (the "Intifada," 2000-2005) and continues today. The PA promotes Shahada as a mandatory religious Islamic duty, both for adults and children, promising great rewards.
Martyrs rewarded with 72 Virgins
The most prominent reward that Palestinian Martyrs are repeatedly promised are the 72 Dark-Eyed Virgins in Paradise. A Palestinian religious leader explained that this is authentic Islam, whose purpose is to “fill Muslims with desire for Paradise”:
"He [Muhammad] said (in a Hadith, Islamic tradition):
‘[There is] a palace of pearls in Paradise and in it seventy courts of ruby... And in each court [there are] seventy houses of green emerald stone. In every house, seventy beds. On every bed, seventy mattresses of every color and on every mattress a woman.’ (Hadith)
The writing of the Prophet [Muhammad in this Hadith]... is intended to fill Muslims with desire for Paradise... to be worthy of it, because only three dwell there: Prophets, Righteous and Shahids (Martyrs for Allah)."
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 2, 2004]

The message comes from all parts of society, including religious leaders, TV news reports, schoolbooks, and even music videos. Newspapers routinely describe the death and funerals of terrorists as their “wedding.” The indoctrination has impacted so significantly on Palestinian society that mothers celebrate their sons’ death as “weddings” and some even state that their sons’ motivation to fight Israel and be killed was to reach Paradise and marry the Dark-Eyed Virgins.

This music video is an example of the PA's continuous indoctrination of this message. The longest running music video on PA TV, originally aired in 2000 and broadcast regularly in 2010, shows a male Martyr being greeted in Islam’s Paradise by dark eyed women all dressed in white. As the PA religious leader wrote, its purpose is to “fill Muslims with desire for Paradise.”

The following are more examples of how the reward of 72 virgins for Shahids is expressed in Palestinian society:

Official PA TV program
Good Morning Jerusalem

Official PA TV host: “About the Martyr from Jerusalem Abd Al-Rahman Abu Jamal (terrorist, wounded 4 -Ed.) we say:
I am the Palestinian lion cub
I was planted in my land, like the olive and fig tree
My roots reach Canaan
The blood of the Martyrs flows in my veins,
I am like a lion in the fields [of battle]
If the drums of war call,
I harvest the souls in the fields
I guard the Al-Aqsa [Mosque] and the [Dome of the] Rock
My eyes will not close, and my head will not bow
I am the Palestinian lion cub
The armies of treachery fear me
The Dark-Eyed [Virgins] yearn for me
I have not sold my homelands, and have not given up my assault rifle.
Today I carry my shrouds, and in my heart my faith strengthens
Because victory and liberation are coming at the hands of the lion cubs."

Article in official PA daily glorifies Martyrs and Martyrdom, describes Palestinian kids trying to touch the Martyr's body to gain prestige among their fellows, Martyrs are "grooms"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 2, 2018
"Only the mother remained to shed tears over the grave of her Martyr (Shahid) son Muhammad Zaghloul Al-Rimawi (i.e., suspected terrorist) after the participants in the funeral procession had scattered. She remained alone to cry over him and scattered roses over his grave...
When parting from the Martyrs, there are always symbolic images that remain in the mind and heart, and it does not matter how much time has passed. Here, at the parting from the Martyr, a father stands facing his son and gives him a military salute. This is an image that has repeated itself many times. In a different image, a boy is hanging out the window of a room and watching the parting from the Martyr... He comes out quickly and tries to touch the head of the Martyr. He wants to reach the glory in order to brag to his friends that he touched a Martyr, but he did not succeed.
When the body of the Martyr reached his home, his closest friend Ata looked for the Martyr's mother and shouted: 'We have brought you the groom; we have brought you the groom.'"

“He was known for his strong envy of the large Martyrs’ (Shahids’) funerals, and used to say: ‘I want a wedding similar to these funerals.’ Two days ago (Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018) in the afternoon what Martyr Laith Haitham Abu Na’im (16) from the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, wished for happened when an occupation soldier shot a bullet in his face and he died as a Martyr. Yesterday a big wedding was held, as he yearned for (i.e., Martyr's funeral is considered wedding to the 72 Virgins in Paradise in Islam).

Terrorist Muhannad Halabi, 19, killed 2 Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, and injured Bennett’s wife, Adele, and their 2-year-old son in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Following the attack, he was shot and killed by Israeli police. Prior to his attack, in a post to his private Facebook page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a "third Intifada,” and said that it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Islamic teacher to children at summer camp: Dead Ribat Martyrs get seventy virgins, ordinary Martyrs get only two
Source: Al-Msjed Al-Aqsa YouTube channel, July 26, 2015

Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi speaks to children at an Al-Aqsa Mosque summer camp about
Ribat fighters, Martyrs and the virgins awaiting them in Paradise:
Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi: “Let's talk about the Hadith (i.e., Islamic tradition) of Prophet Muhammad about the Ribat (religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic). It compares the stature of the Martyr to that of the [martyred] Ribat fighter. The Prophet says... Three privileges are bestowed upon the Martyr: "His sins are forgiven with the first gush of blood. He marries two of the Dark-Eyed (i.e., virgins) of Paradise. He advocates on behalf of 70 members of his family." In the same Hadith, the Prophet talks about the [martyred] Ribat fighter... He marries 70 of the Dark-Eyed (i.e., virgins). The Martyr gets two, while the Ribat fighter gets 70 of the Dark-Eyed. The Ribat fighter gets 35 times more than the Martyr... The Prophet says... The Ribat fighter who dies in Ribat can advocate on Judgement Day on behalf of anyone he wants for 50,000 years.”
Bystander: "Do they [the children] even understand what you are saying?"
Children in the summer camp: "Allah is Great! Allah is Great!"
Sheikh Khaled Al-Mughrabi: "Leave us alone. Leave us alone."
Bystander: "Can they understand things like Ribat, Martyrdom and the Dark-Eyed [Virgins]? You should be ashamed, sir, a man with a white beard like you. Give these lessons to us [adults], not to children. Look at these children, you fill their heads with this?"
Children: “With our lives and blood, we will redeem Al-Aqsa!”

Martyr’s death glorified as a wedding, in rap song on PA TV
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Oct. 18, 2013
PA TV program Good Morning Jerusalem hosted three young rappers. One of them rapped about being prepared to die a Martyr (Shahid) for Jerusalem and about death as sacrifice being the most beautiful death.
Youth on PA TV: “I thank God for creating me a Palestinian Jerusalemite.
The Friday prayer in [the] Al-Aqsa [Mosque] strengthens me.
They won’t keep me away from you [Al-Aqsa], even if they beat me or kill me.
I will die a Martyr (Shahid) and the whole world will escort me [to my wedding] (i.e., wedding to the virgins in Heaven).
Far away from the dreams, far away from the distortion
The most beautiful death is [to die] as a sacrifice.
Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock [Mosque] is our dome and Al-Aqsa is our Al-Aqsa.”

Poem in PA-associated magazine: Martyrdom-death is a wedding
Source: Zayzafuna magazine, Sept. 1, 2013
PA-associated educational youth magazine Zayzafuna published for the third time a poem glorifying Martyrdom death for Allah - Shahada:
"If you know that you were born with a death sentence, and if you go to your death without caring - then you're a Palestinian!
If your song is the song of Martyrdom (Shahada), and death, for you, is birth - then you're a Palestinian!
If you love death, and you say the Shahada [declaration] (i.e., the Islamic creed: "There is no God but Allah, Muhammad is Allah's messenger.") aloud - then you're a Palestinian!
If you've ever felt that you're an exploding body and that your soul will long one day to be a knight for the homeland - then you're a Palestinian!
If the stone is your weapon against oppression, and if those who hate [you] criticize your struggle - then you're a Palestinian!
If you have watered the tree of the homeland with your free blood, with love, and have offered the remnants of your bodily parts as a bridge for those who are yet to come - then you're a Palestinian!
If you have shattered the chains, and carried the key to the house from which [your] grandparents were expelled - then you're a Palestinian!
If your wedding (i.e., a Martyr's death and funeral in Islamic tradition are a wedding to the 72 Maidens of Paradise) was amidst a hail of bullets between the shoulders of friends [who carried your body], against the sound of tears mingled with joy and the searing pain of separation - then you're a Palestinian, and you're full of pride at being a Palestinian."

Martyrs go to “the Martyrdom (Shahada) wedding” after death

Headline: “During the weekly sit-down strike in Gaza and on the anniversary of the Acre prison heroes’ [death] – Al-Bardini: ‘Israel inherited the arbitrary sentences given to the prisoners from the British’”
“To commemorate the anniversary of the execution of Fuad Hijazi, Muhammad Jamjoum and Ataa Al-Zir, the three Acre prison heroes, the [Palestinian] National and Islamic Forces’ Prisoners’ Committee held a special conference on the subject of the arbitrary sentences given to the prisoners… in the [Palestinian] Red Crescent Society’s auditorium…
Fatah Commissioner to the Prisoners’ Committee, released prisoner Al-Bardini mentioned the heroic positions held by the Acre prisoners who led the Al-Buraq revolution (i.e., the 1929 Hebron Massacre)…
He said the three heroes had demanded to be supplied with henna because they saw themselves as going to the Martyrdom (Shahada) wedding.”

Fatah official expresses pride that Palestinian women celebrate when Martyrs become “grooms”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, May 15, 2012
Interview with Abbas Zaki, member of the Fatah Central Committee, on the PA TV program Palestine This Morning:
Zaki: "Actually we started a process of organization and precise reconnaissance, in order to start the Fatah revolution, in January '65. From then until today, 48 years of rivers of blood, sweat and tears, we have [had] ups and downs, but the enemy feels, each day that it is regressing. Each period we use a different form of struggle: At one time [we struggle] with weapons, at another time – stones, another time – empty stomachs (i.e., hunger strikes), such that we will defeat this executioner in our battle. I believe that the memory, the love of Palestine and the geography of Palestine still lives in the mind of this tremendous nation. The children, of whom it was said that they would not know this land – they now know it better than the scholars and the adults, and they make sacrifices [for it]. The women carry out Martyrdom-seeking operations (i.e., suicide attacks), and utter sounds of joy over the Martyr, and sing to the groom (i.e., the Martyr who marries the 72 virgins in Paradise). This shows what a right that has claimants is, and that the Palestinian people is ready to sacrifice until this black day (Nakba day) is erased through its struggle…"

Band sings the song “Intifada Anthem”:
“This is our country's word in the face of death:
Our language is fire, and the revolution is the roof of our house.
We sing it while erasing the step of the thief (i.e., Israel).
This blood is the voice.
We have gathered the blood from our first wound.
We escorted the Martyr of the land to his wedding [to 72 Dark-eyed maidens], and held a pre-wedding party for our female Martyr (who became one of the Dark-eyed).
We said to the little one: 'Grow up', as we declared our Intifada.
Our country is the sea, the threshing floor and the clay houses.
Our country is Al-Ram, Rama and the Ramin plain (note: Rama is in northern Israel), the Acre fortress, the sun of the Carmel and Haifa (note: All in northern Israel), and Gaza, which responds to death with the knife."

Band sings the song “Teach us”:
Teach us how to make torches from the darkness of night.
Teach us how to get jasmine from the wounds of the heart.
Teach us how to turn heartbeats into bombs.
Teach us how to eat our bread which is drenched with blood, that we may live.
Not that we may live but that we may continue to fight.”

“My mother went to the home of the Martyr (Shahid) to express condolences…
My mother said [to the Martyr’s mother]: ‘Why do you weep? He died as a Martyr, do not be sad.
