PA Minister of Religious Affairs claims Israel desecrates Al-Aqsa, "Judaizes" Jerusalem, and "attempts to steal our heritage and culture"

The minister of religious affairs explained that those who are called ‘the alleged Temple organizations’ have strengthened their calls to invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas (i.e., the Temple Mount) during the Hebrew Passover holiday and sacrifice Passover sacrifices there…
He said that the steps that the occupation government is carrying out have begun to move to the most dangerous stage for the future of the holy city [of Jerusalem] by giving a green light to the settlers and extremist Jews to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque, to do as they will in its holy plazas and to carry out shameful acts that desecrate the sanctity of the site (See note below –Ed.)…
Ida’is explained that in the shadow of the Arab and Islamic silence and international conspiracy, the Zionist occupation authorities are continuing their plans to erode occupied Jerusalem and take all of the Islamic characteristics from it while using all of the arbitrary means to Judaize the city and expel the original [Arab] Jerusalem residents from it: taking control of the lands and establishing settlements on them, the continuation of the excavations under our blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque… and the many attempts to steal our heritage and culture – and this is not the first time: a Jewish ‘archaeologist’ attempted to steal a stone from the ancient Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

“Temple organizations” refer to religious Jewish movements including the Temple Mount Institute, the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, the Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount, and Students for the Temple Mount, which spread awareness of the importance of the Temple Mount in Judaism and encourage people to visit the site.

Break-in/Invasion/attack of Al-Aqsa Mosque - The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
