Abbas: US Ambassador to Israel is "son of a bitch"

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' speech at a meeting of the Palestinian leadership at the PA headquarters in Ramallah

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas: “"We have said thousands of times, thousands of times, that what was nicknamed the Arab Spring - which is praised by several idiots, several fools, several of those without any sense - the name of this spring is the American Spring. It began among us in Gaza – we all know how [Hamas] joined the elections, and afterwards how they carried out a coup and received much support - covertly and overtly – because America wants to cut the Gaza Strip off from the West Bank so that there will not be a united Palestinian state. We need to know this and need to acknowledge the truth, and from now on do not need to pretend to be blind to the truth and destroy the Palestinian national enterprise. [US President Donald] Trump's administration began carrying out this plan when it declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel, decided to transfer their embassy to it [Jerusalem], cut their allocations to UNRWA, and consider settlement legal. This was said by more than one American official, the first of them is their ambassador here in Tel Aviv, David Friedman, who said: "They are building in their land." Son of a bitch! (Lit: “son of a dog”) They are building in their land? He is a settler, his family are settlers, and he is the US ambassador in Tel Aviv, so what do we expect of him?”
