Fatah official: “The only conflict is with the Israeli occupation,” the differences between Fatah and Hamas are minor
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 14, 2018
Headline: "Al-Aloul: The sole and fundamental conflict is with the occupation"
"Fatah Movement Deputy Chairman [and Fatah Central Committee member] Mahmoud Al-Aloul said… at a ceremony to mark the 14th anniversary of the death of [former PLO Chairman and PA President] Yasser Arafat as a Martyr (Shahid) that our people is still being subjected to aggression, and that the most despicable and grave kinds of crimes are still being committed against it… He explained: 'The Fatah Movement has always adhered to the principle and will never deviate from it – the only conflict is with the Israeli occupation, and the distinctions and differences between the Fatah Movement and the Hamas Movement are nothing but a secondary disagreement. The proof of this is that our sons from Fatah are standing in the battle field and have made many sacrifices in the Gaza Strip.' …
Al-Aloul demanded that priority always be given to the struggle against the aggression, and said: 'At this occasion, we repeat the call that [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas has made on several opportunities. We call on our brothers in Hamas – for the sake of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque and for the sake of the future, freedom, and independence – to work immediately to end the [Fatah-Hamas] rift and to return to the bosom of the people and the homeland.’"

Fatah leader in Gaza: Attempts to disarm Hamas are erasing the “national struggle”; “we will stand against this occupation with our souls… and defend the weapons of the resistance”
Source: Amad, independent Palestinian news website, Aug. 9, 2018
Headline: “Fatah leader: Hamas is an integral part of the national movement and its disarmament from the weapons of the resistance is an effort to erase the national struggle”
“Fatah Movement leader [in Gaza] Nidal Khadra called to defend the resistance and the weapons of the resistance. He said on his Facebook account… that the Hamas Movement, with all of its parts, will remain an integral part of our people and the national movement, and that the effort to disarm it is an effort to erase what remains of the national struggle under the pretext of hatred towards Hamas and its resistance. [He said that] we will not take this disgrace upon ourselves, and therefore we will stand against this occupation with our souls and what remains of our bodies and defend the weapons of the resistance and the shoes of the members of the resistance – and not their heads – as they are as high and lofty as mountains.”

We will rejoice in the suffering of the prisoners, in the result of the suffering of the prisoners, who suffered so we would rejoice. Fatah Revolutionary Council calls for unity with Hamas, “popular resistance and its escalation on the ground”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 24, 2017
Headline: "The Fatah Revolutionary Council: Jerusalem is our capital, the international community must implement its decisions on ending the occupation"

"The Fatah Movement Revolutionary Council emphasized what was said in the meeting of the Palestinian leadership and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas'] speech: Palestine is our land and our homeland, Jerusalem is our capital, and the international community must implement its decisions on ending the occupation and allow our people to realize its sovereignty in its land, its state, and its capital.

In a statement it published after its meeting yesterday [July 23, 2017] in Ramallah, the Revolutionary Council… called on the Hamas Movement to take advantage of this national moment and the unity of the masses in defending the land and the holy sites in order to respond to the initiative of His Honor the President and return our national unity. [The Revolutionary Council] also emphasized 'its choice – the use of popular resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror) and its escalation on the ground, and the continuation of the political and media confrontation with the occupying force until our national goals are achieved.’"

The terms "peaceful uprising/resistance,” and “popular uprising/resistance" are used by PA leaders either to refer to peaceful protest or deadly terror attacks and terror waves. For example, ‎Mahmoud Abbas defined as “peaceful popular” the murderous terror during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded by stabbings, shootings and car ramming attacks: Abbas said: "we want peaceful popular uprising, and that’s what this is."
Hamas official says change to Hamas charter is "a tactical step," maintains "our land is all of Palestine"
Source: Amad, independent Palestinian news website, Mar. 28, 2017
"Member of the Hamas movement's political bureau Mahmoud Al-Zahar emphasized... in an interview with the Lebanese [TV] channel Al-Mayadeen that is close to Hezbollah... that the new document that Hamas will publish does not constitute a new face, but rather explains the reality and fundamentals of the movement.
He said: 'Our principles say that our land is all of Palestine, including the land that is under occupation (i.e., Israel).' He also noted that the talk in the document about establishing a state in the West Bank and Gaza 'is a tactical step that does not harm the right of the Palestinians to all of the land of Palestine.' Al-Zahar continued: 'We are not a copy of Fatah. We are not a copy of a failed project.' He noted that only the Jews who occupied Palestine are the movement's enemies, and not all of the Jews."

Senior Fatah official calls on Hamas to carry the rifle and fight Israel
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Aug. 4, 2016
Official PA TV program State of Politics hosts Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki, who calls on Hamas to help the PA’s political struggle through warfare against Israel
Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki: [Discussing the failure of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Turkey] “I propose that Hamas (i.e., as a Gazan offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood) return [to being] Palestinian in order to save itself, so that it will at the very least save and preserve the days in which they said of it: ‘self-sacrificing fighters’ (Fedayeen); it is a pity, a pity. Therefore I say that Hamas’ project is over unless it will return to carrying the rifle and will fight, and we will welcome that even Hamas will fight.”
Fatah commissioner: "Whoever can terrorize them [the ‎Israelis] and send them into the shelters ‎is a hero"
Source: Awdah independent Palestinian TV channel, Aug. 10, 2014
The independent Palestinian TV channel ‎Awdah interviewed Fatah Central ‎Committee Member and Commissioner of ‎Arab Relations and Relations with China ‎Abbas Zaki on August 3, 2014. The ‎interview was posted on August 10, 2014.‎
Fatah Central Committee Member and ‎Commissioner of Arab Relations and ‎Relations with China Abbas Zaki: “We ‎must now act by consensus. We must ‎formulate a common strategy. We have ‎none among us who would either oppose ‎‎[the resistance] or [be willing to] ‎compromise. We must reach a point in ‎which no one demands from the other ‎something he cannot do. Whoever can ‎win hearts [and minds] around the world ‎is a hero. Whoever can terrorize them [the ‎Israelis] and send them into the shelters ‎is a hero. Whoever can raise money is a ‎hero. And whoever can build and repair ‎is also a hero… The harsh blockade on ‎Russia strengthens the BRICs – Russia, ‎China, Brazil, India and South Africa. ‎Just yesterday, they opened an ‎international bank, in addition to the ‎existing one, in local currency, with a ‎capital of a hundred billion. So I believe ‎we are not alone. Two camps are now ‎emerging in the world: the good camp ‎and the evil camp. At the moment, the US ‎is in the evil camp. You will soon see that ‎this is no decree of fate – after all the ‎crimes committed, the double standards ‎and the blind recruiting of those who ‎follow Zionism’s money, dollars and ‎media. And they call themselves a [world] ‎power – inconceivable.”‎

Fatah spokesman brags that Fatah has more prisoners and Martyrs than Hamas
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, June 22, 2014
Official PA TV program The State of ‎Politics hosted Fatah spokesman ‎Ahmad Assaf
Fatah spokesman Ahmad Assaf: “The ‎Martyrs (Shahids) from among the ‎‎[PA] Security Forces – from the ‎‎[second] Intifada (i.e., PA terror ‎campaign 2000-2005) until now ‎‎[number] 2,100 – more than the ‎Martyrs of Hamas. The PA Security ‎Forces’ prisoners up to now [number] ‎over 700, more than the prisoners of ‎Hamas. I would like to ask: If the ‎Security Forces have [in the eyes of ‎Hamas] reached the level of ‎cooperation, coordination and ‎collaboration with the Israeli ‎occupation, why were they the first to ‎be targeted by the occupation?”‎
Hamas official: Fatah recognizes Israel "on the political level" but not an organizational level; its real position is "very close to Hamas' position"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 5, 2014
“Deputy Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau Dr. Musa Abu Marzouq said Fatah’s weight in the PLO has helped it become the organization’s backbone. He noted that there was no connection between recognition of Israel and the positions of the factions, and that Fatah’s [recognition], for example, expresses the political level and not the level of the organization, which does not recognize Israel and still adheres to the armed struggle. In addition, he noted that [Fatah’s] political position is very close to Hamas’ position, and explained that the real unity will be reflected through the PLO and not the PA Parliament (Legislative Council), and that no alternative to the organization enjoys international and Arab recognition.”
Fatah official: Fatah and Hamas have same goal and same enemy - Israel
Source: Facebook page of Tawfiq Tirawi, member of Fatah Central Committee, May 6, 2014
The Palestine Today Channel interviewed Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi.
Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi: “We and Hamas – it’s true we are political rivals, but our goal is one, and our enemy is one. Everyone must understand that the enemy of all the groups of the Palestinian people is the Israeli occupation, and not one organization or another. True, we are vying for the [support of] the Palestinian public – but for a [common] goal, which is the liberation of the land and the liberation of the Palestinian people and the establishment of our independent Palestinian state… The [PA] Security Forces are the ones who led the second Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005) and, before that, the Tunnel Intifada (i.e., the Western Wall Tunnel clashes – 3 days of Palestinian-Israeli fighting in September 1996), and at this very moment, there are over 300 or 400 Palestinian officers from all the Security Forces in prison. They include prisoners who have received sentences of over 200 or 300 years. And there are over 200 Martyrs (Shahids). All the headquarters of the Security Forces were destroyed. These are national Security Forces, Security Forces with a history of struggle.”

Fatah official: Like Hamas, Fatah values "armed struggle," but at the right time - "We are a project of liberation, not a project of suicide"
Source: YouTube, Apr. 24, 2014
El-Hadath, ‎ sister channel of Al Arabiya ‎News, posted an interview with Deputy ‎Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee ‎Jibril Rajoub to Youtube.‎
Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central ‎Committee Jibril Rajoub: “We were the ones who led the ‎armed struggle, and the resistance is still ‎part of our national principles. ‎Nevertheless, we agreed on May 4, 2011 – ‎all factions of the Palestinian activity, and ‎it was [Hamas leader] Khaled Mashaal ‎who read out the plan on their behalf – ‎‎[we agreed] that at this stage, popular ‎resistance was a strategic choice. We are ‎a project of liberation, not a project of ‎suicide. We are a project for the ‎establishment of a state, not a project that ‎won’t lead anywhere, or lead to anarchy. ‎Sir, [armed] resistance is still [in] the ‎genetic code of all Fatah members. But ‎the resistance our people will be able to ‎endure is a resistance that encircles the ‎occupation..."
El-Hadath interviewer: “That is, Fatah is ‎not against the [armed] resistance; it ‎‎[resistance] is one of its principles, but the ‎choice at this time is the negotiation ‎option.”‎...
Deputy Secretary of the Fatah Central ‎Committee Jibril Rajoub: “What we agreed upon on May 4 is the ‎political plan for the Palestinian people’s ‎struggle. The Palestinian state is our first ‎priority; popular resistance has the ‎consent of the people... I hope that ‎our brothers in Hamas will understand ‎this, and that they will re-examine [things] ‎to guarantee the unity of our political ‎conduct and our struggle. Resistance as ‎an idea and as [a mode of] behavior is still ‎part of the national and organizational ‎principles of all Fatah members.”‎

PA TV host agrees with Hamas: "The minimum… is the 1967 borders;" "[Who knows] what the intentions are after that?"
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Apr. 3, 2014
Official PA TV Program Speak Plainly hosted Hamas Member Ismail Radwan and Fatah Member Abdallah Abdallah. On the phone was former Israeli-Arab MP Taleb Al-Sana.
PA TV Host Maher Shalabi: “The minimum, according to Hamas – as brother Khaled Mashaal, head of the Hamas Political Bureau has said, [and as] Ismail Haniyeh, Prime Minister of the deposed Hamas government in Gaza, has demonstrated several times – is the 1967 borders, and he has emphasized this, as you have said. [Who knows] what the intentions are after that. Brother, you include Haifa and Jaffa [in the discussion] – and I, Maher Shalabi, sitting here, am I supposed to tell you I don’t want them?! Brother, we will take them. But, Doctor, there is a logic that says: the strong perform disgraceful acts, and those who are unable [to overcome their enemies] must bide their time and they will dwell on this land; so let’s talk according to reason and the chief interests of the land. The minimum, for now, which all [our] people’s factions have agreed on, is peaceful popular struggle, at this stage – and perhaps two years from now, we’ll say, ‘no, we want to wreak havoc in the land.’”
Official PA daily: Hamas suspends teaching of human rights curriculum that calls for "peaceful resistance"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 14, 2014
“The Education Ministry of the deposed Hamas government announced yesterday [Feb. 13, 2014] that it has reached an agreement with UNRWA to suspend teaching human rights as a subject in the agency’s schools in Gaza because [the curriculum] contains dangerous inaccuracies that are detrimental to the Palestinian cause and to Palestinian and Islamic culture . Mu’tasim Al-Minawi, a senior official in the deposed government’s education ministry, said of the UNRWA’s curriculum that it “distorts and belittles the refugee issue and describes the refugees [simply] as people who fled rather than as [victims] who were forcefully expelled and had massacres perpetrated against them, forcing them to leave their homes; this is a distortion and a blurring of the truth.’ …
In an announcement posted on the Ministry’s website, Osama Al-Mazini, the deposed government’s minister of education, said: ‘We cannot allow the UNRWA agency to unilaterally introduce new curricula.’ He added that the human rights subject ‘ignores the Nakba (i.e., “catastrophe,” Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) of the Palestinian people, and works to erase the culture of the right of return and to instill one of peaceful resistance and submission as a means of restoring the rights [of the Palestinians].’”

Released prisoner sends coded message to terrorist prisoners through PA TV
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Jan. 3, 2014
Israeli police have since verified in a statement that Hamas uses Palestinian TV broadcasts to send coded messages to prisoners in the prisons.
Released prisoner Bilal Abu Hussein: "I say to my brothers: Don't think about it too much. It will come on its own. I wish all of them freedom, especially the prisoners who lived with me in the Nafha, Gilboa, Ashkelon and Rimon prisons. I wish they may live the moment of happiness together with their families... I have a present for the guys, right after my arrival home: I send them love [makes heart sign], victory [makes victory sign], and a few people have signs between me and them, and they know them [additional sign with thumb and index finger]. And, Allah willing, may their aspirations be realized."
