Former Fatah leader criticizes Abbas harshly as attempting to "get rid of any opposition and supervision of his political, legal and financial crimes"
Source: Donia Al-Watan News website‎, Aug. 23, 2015
Headline: “[Muhammad] Dahlan attacks President Mahmoud Abbas and demands he announce the establishment of the State of Palestine”
“Muhammad Dahlan, the Fatah leader who was expelled from the movement, and member of the Legislative Committee, severely attacked President Mahmoud Abbas regarding the resignations tendered by the PLO Executive Committee.
Dahlan wrote in a post on Facebook: ‘Our national cause is facing a critical historic moment, which requires everyone to immediately issue a challenge, as President Mahmoud Abbas has begun to implement the “’palace revolt’ in order to rid himself of the shackles of the national institutions and eliminate the last remaining rules and mechanisms of the Palestinian actions, and this is a clear attempt to destroy any leadership framework able to demand an accounting of him and deter him...
What Mahmoud Abbas is striving for is to get rid of any opposition, limitation, and supervision of his political, legal, and financial crimes. This is with the idea that the safe, gradual way out is through dissolution of the leadership institutions, and reassembling them with a group of submissive people, who do as he says… and this is the beginning of a plot to impose unfair solutions on our cause and our people.’”
Senior Fatah leader: Arafat and Fatah started the Intifada
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 28, 2010
Interview with Muhammad Dahlan, member of the Fatah Central Committee:
PA TV host: “Yesterday or the day before, Mahmoud Al-Zahar, the Hamas leader, said that they [Hamas] used to carry out operations (i.e., terror attacks) at the request of the late President, Yasser Arafat. In other words, there was high-level coordination [between Fatah and Hamas]. What is your response to that?”
Dahlan
: “I’m not surprised at these reckless statements by Al-Zahar… These are not the words of a responsible person, or a person who appreciates what responsibility is. It’s also humiliating, because the President, Arafat, didn’t lack fighters. In the Intifada, when Arafat wanted something, he asked his security services, 40% of which were either killed, Shahids (Martyrs) or prisoners. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to express all our love, honor and gratitude for the role of those brothers who died as Shahids in the second Intifada from among Fatah and from among the Palestinian civilians and fighters, who defended our national rights. And also those who have paid a heavy price in the Israeli prisons, first and foremost Marwan Barghouti, who served as the example and the symbol of this Intifada, while Hamas was still hiding, thinking that Arafat brought about the Intifada because he wanted to cover up the secret agreement that had been drawn up at Camp David. Those are Al-Zahar’s statements, by the way… The second Intifada – Hamas joined it late. We [the PLO and PA security services] are the ones who started it.”

Dahlan warning: Palestinians "will ambush" Israel over Jerusalem
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Mar. 14, 2010
Press conference held by Muhammad Dahlan, member of the Fatah Central Committee:
"What is happening in Jerusalem is a detonator waiting to explode. Netanyahu wants to create chaos in the region, and to create security anarchy, so that they can blame the Palestinian side…
In everything related to Jerusalem and to the threats to invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque, we warn the Israeli government not to do this. The Palestinian people everywhere, and especially in Jerusalem, will ambush them." Click here to view
Dahlan: Hamas prevents resistance, gets nothing from Israel
Source: WAFA news agency, Oct. 19, 2009
Muhammad Dahlan, Senior Fatah MP, at a press conference in Ramallah at a Fatah Revolutionary Council assembly, reported by WAFA and also broadcast on PA TV:
"[Muhammad Dahlan] directed attention to the fixed position of Hamas, evading reconciliation [with Fatah] at all times – prior to the aggression over Gaza and afterwards. He demanded that [Hamas] halt the farce of resistance, and pointed out that it is Hamas that is preventing ‘the resistance’ and maintaining a ceasefire with nothing [obtained from Israel] in return. He asked: ‘Are we preventing them from laying siege on Tel Aviv?’"
Dahlan accuses Hamas of bombing nephew's wedding
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, July 22, 2009
"Fatah leader Muhammad Dahlan accuses Hamas of organizing wedding blast. Around the blast that injured 61 guests at his nephew's wedding in Khan Younis Tuesday night, Dahlan directly accused Hamas of organizing the attack... He speculated that the explosion targeting his family was a sign that Hamas was scared of the upcoming Fatah Sixth Congress."
Dahlan: Arafat deceived world when condemning terror
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 22, 2009
Muhammad Dahlan, senior Fatah MP: "Regarding negotiations with Israel, we have to set a logical time limit of two years, in my opinion. The political plan guarantees the continuation of our national struggle in all its forms, in a way that will fulfill our national aspirations within this period of time."
PA TV host: "If so, the [violent] resistance and struggle continue."
Muhammad Dahlan: "This is our right, a legal right. The international community affirms it for us. But it is the responsibility of the leadership to use it when it wants, in the proper place and at the proper time. We cannot leave it in the hands of youth who use their own judgment. This is the difference between [PA] using this right and just anyone using it. I lived with Chairman Yasser Arafat for years. Arafat would condemn [terror] operations by day while at night he would do honorable things. I don't want to say any more about this."

PA MP Dahlan: Israel killed Arafat to abuse Fatah
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 22, 2009
Muhammad Dahlan, MP and senior Fatah leader:
"I think that we're at the end of a process of abuse of the [Fatah] movement. Israel started it with the destruction of the Fatah movement and the destruction of the Palestinian Authority and its institutions, and the killing of Chairman Yasser Arafat."

Dahlan: PA security forces aided Hamas during Intifada
Source: Al-Arabiya TV, June 16, 2007
Contrary to the popular idea that the Palestinian Authority is pursuing a peace process with Israel and is opposed to the terrorism advocated openly by Hamas, Muhammad Dahlan, a senior PA (Fatah) official, here states openly that PA security forces hid and protected Hamas military leaders and fighters during the Intifada.
Muhammad Dahlan, Senior Fatah MP:

"Forty percent of the Martyrs in this Intifada belonged to the Palestinian security forces. The Palestinian security forces were those who protected and hid half of the Hamas [military] leadership and of the Hamas military force during the Intifada."
