Headline: “Erekat: Netanyahu’s statements are the latest revelations of racism”
“Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee Saeb Erekat called on the international community to condemn the occupation’s [Israeli] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements, in which he claimed that the murder of anyone by a Jew cannot be compared to the murder of a Jew by a non-Jew.’ Erekat demanded in a press release that international protection be provided to our people, in order to protect it from the occupation’s regime and its leaders…
Erekat addressed the history and literature of the occupation state and its doctrine based on killing, ethnic cleansing, and forced expulsion of indigenous residents by saying: ‘Instead of demanding accountability of the racists for their words, and deterring them, the occupation state honors and commemorates from 1948 until this day the memory of those who blew up the King David Hotel and terrorists who committed dozens of massacres against our Christian, Muslim, and Jewish (sic) people, used terror to expel thousands from their land, and released terrorists from the British courts. Likewise, it commemorates the known terrorist Baruch Goldstein, who killed 29 worshippers in the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., the Cave of the Patriarchs) in Hebron, and for whom the occupation authorities established a memorial (destroyed by the Israeli army in 1999, after legislation forbidding the establishment of memorials to anyone carrying out an act of terror was enacted specifically to address this case –Ed.) in the illegal settlement Kiryat Arba, in a park named after another Israeli terrorist – Meir Kahane.”
