Israel kills innocent Palestinians like Abu Khdeir to frighten Palestinians
“District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Dr. Laila Ghannam briefed the Indian ambassador about the details of the internal Palestinian situation and the sufferings of our people, caused by the last and longest occupation known to mankind…The District Governor said that the settlements, which desecrate Palestinian land, and the rioting of the settlers, the last [instance] of which was the burning of a mosque in the [West Bank] village of Mughayer, were actions that the world, which purports to be democratic, must stop. In addition, she said that the burning of Muhammad Abu Khdeir and the strangling of [Yussuf] Al-Ramouni, which were perpetrated lately by the settler herds, represented a course of action adopted by the occupation government and its herds to frighten our defenseless people, and emphasized the need to provide international protection for our people.”
Notes: On June 12, 2014, Israeli teens Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Frenkel were kidnapped while hitchhiking in the West Bank. The boys' bodies were found by Israeli security forces near Hebron on June 30, 2014. They appeared to have been shot to death soon after the abduction. Two days later, Palestinian teen Muhammad Abu Khdeir was kidnapped and murdered in Jerusalem in a revenge attack by Israeli extremists. Following this murder, Palestinians took to the streets of eastern Jerusalem in violent and continuous protests. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli ministers immediately condemned the revenge killing in the strongest terms. Israeli police arrested six Israeli suspects on July 6th; under interrogation, three of the suspects confessed to murdering Khdeir.
Yussuf Al-Ramouni – Arab bus driver from East Jerusalem who was found hanged at a bus terminal in Jerusalem on Nov. 16, 2014. Although an autopsy performed by the Israeli Abu Kabir Forensic Institute and a pathologist chosen by the family of Al-Ramouni revealed no signs of violence, Palestinian leaders and media immediately presented the incident as a murder perpetrated by Jewish settlers.
