Fatah official: Israel and ISIS both carry out “uprooting with weapons and terror” and are “the root of barbarity, crime and terror”

Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, Fatah Revolutionary Committee member and regular columnist for the official PA daily
Headline: “The ‘Jewish State in Israel’ organization!”
“Even if the press overflows with pictures of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu crying, and even if the occupation state’s President [Reuven] Rivlin’s tears flood the streets of Tel Aviv, the ‘Jewish State in Israel’ (a word play based on the name ‘Islamic state in Iraq and the Levant’ – Ed.) is responsible for the crime against humanity, since the ’Jewish State’ gangs… are those who committed the crime in which the Dawabsheh family from the Palestinian village of Duma in the Nablus district was burned…
Barbarity is a characteristic of ISIS, which was created in Arab states, but what the world must know is that its first seeds were sown here in Palestine, with the first invasion of the gangs of the Zionist movement. The theft of the Palestinians’ land and homes, their uprooting with weapons and terror, and all kinds of crimes [committed] by Islamist ISIS and the ‘Jewish State’ today, demonstrate the root of barbarity, crime and terror…
Israel worked to turn the settlements into incubators for the ‘Jewish State in Israel’ organization, and their gangs won an opportunity to be ‘fattened up’ and to receive protection from the army, government, and security services of the occupation state…
Israel, the occupation state, has begun paying the price for propagating the terror cells in its settlements…
What is taking place is not only a revolution of extremist Jews, who Netanyahu and the Israeli president described as terrorists, but [also] an organized, planned ‘terror industry’ that serves the occupation state’s policy to implement its schemes… Netanyahu and his government’s members are using the ‘Jewish State’ organization to trigger a violent Palestinian response, in order to justify its [Israel’s] turning to crimes against humanity and the terror of the occupation and settlements…
ISIS in Iraq and Syria, ‘Jewish State’ in Israel, Boko Haram in Nigeria, Al-Qaeda in North Africa, Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis (a Jihadist terror group, -Ed.) in Sinai, and anyone using murder and bloodshed under the flag of religion – they have no religion and no homeland. They are all manufactured in a single laboratory, the keys to which are in the hands of the secretary of the Zionist occupation project and the Jewish settlement in Palestine.”

Notes: Duma arson - On July 31, 2015, two Palestinian houses in the West Bank village of Duma were set afire by Molotov cocktails thrown through their windows. 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh was killed in this attack, and his father, Saad Dawabsheh, died of injuries 8 days later. Israeli leaders and citizens from all sectors of society condemned this attack, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that all Israelis were disgusted by the crime, adding, “We will not countenance terrorism of any kind.” He ordered the security forces "to use all means at their disposal to apprehend the murderers and bring them to justice forthwith."
There is suspicion that this was a nationalist attack carried out by Jewish extremists in revenge for Palestinian terror attacks, however the crime remains unsolved with no named suspects.

Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis (Supporters of Jerusalem) – A Sunni, Al-Qaeda affiliated Jihadist terror group active in the Sinai Peninsula. In 2014, many of its members swore allegiance to the Islamic State, changing the group’s name to Wilayat Sinai (Province of Sinai), while other members remained loyal to Al-Qaeda. The group also has a branch in the Gaza Strip known as the Islamic State in Gaza. The group has carried out numerous terror attacks against Israel and Egypt, including an attack on a bus in Eilat in 2011, in which 8 Israelis and 3 Egyptian soldiers were killed, an attack on the Egyptian Security Directorate in Mansoura in 2013, in which 16 were killed and 134 injured, and the Taba bus bombing in 2014 that killed 4. In January 2015, the group killed over 30 Egyptian soldiers in attacks in North Sinai.
