‘It is important to understand that this terror attack (i.e., committed by terrorist Nimr Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Jamal at Har Adar, 3 murdered; see note below), exactly like all the rest of the lone attacks during the last two years, has completely identical characteristics. Again it is a Palestinian without any security background or prior intelligence information [about him]; again it is a terrorist with no connections to terror organizations or a supporting terror infrastructure. Here too it is a Palestinian who carried out an act of desperation as a result of personal frustration, which came in a familial context, a loss of his status and honor in the family, and his wife leaving.
Again a murderer went out one morning on his own initiative, continuously incited by the Palestinian media and authorities, just to kill Israelis and thereby achieve one of the only two goals that he could aim for – either to be killed and become a respected Martyr (Shahid) in his community, or to be arrested and imprisoned and become a hero in the eyes of his people, and to provide his family with respectable financial support from the Palestinian authorities.’”
Nimr Mahmoud Ahmed Al-Jamal - Palestinian terrorist who shot and murdered an Israeli border police officer and 2 security guards and wounded another Israeli at the entrance to Har Adar, northwest of Jerusalem, on Sept. 26, 2017. Al-Jamal was shot and killed during the attack by other border police officers.
