Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Libels
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will.

Throughout history bogus conspiracy accusations have been used to incite hatred, violence, and mass murder. The myriad conspiracy libels concerning Israel, Israelis and Jews are an integral part of the Palestinian Authority’s ongoing hate promotion. PA libels claim that Israel conspires to infect Palestinians with AIDS, spread drug addiction, conspired and successfully murdered Arafat, and more. The PA’s goal has been to inculcate hatred to the degree that fighting and murdering Jews and Israelis will be glorified as heroic self-defense.
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Both Fatah and Hamas have generated and sustained religious hatred by disseminating the libel that Israel is attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque. With close to 100% of Palestinians identifying themselves as believing Muslims, this claim is highly
inflammatory and is often combined with the call to “defend Al-Aqsa” from the Jews. The Al-Aqsa libel includes numerous fabrications: Israel was behind a mosque fire in 1969; Israel is currently digging under the mosque in order to topple it; Israel plans to replace it with a new Temple; Israel is preparing a missile attack on the mosque, and more. This libel has been actively promoted since 1998.

This Hamas TV cartoon video depicts demonic Jews digging under the mosque in an attempt to topple it.

The following are more examples of the Al-Aqsa libel:
PA Mufti: Israel aspires "to build the alleged Temple
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Feb. 12, 2015
Headline: "Grand Mufti warns of the naming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque 'Temple Mount'"
"[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and Preacher at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Muhammad Hussein warned about the placement of a sign by the occupation [Jerusalem] municipality near the Council Gate ( i.e., entrance to the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount), with the inscription, 'Temple Mount.' The Mufti said this step came as part of the attempts to divide the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque between Muslims and Jews, extend their influence over it and establish facts on the ground inside it, like what happened at the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) in Hebron, in order to realize their aspirations to build the alleged Temple on the ruins of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Mufti explained that with the elections of the occupation authorities approaching, all the parties are trying to draw the votes of the extreme right by increasing the attack on the Palestinian people and its holy places. He emphasized that the Israeli plan to Judaize Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to lay hands on them, is an illusion, because the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque with its courtyards, porticoes and all [other] parts, both those above ground and those below - is the exclusive right of Muslims. He also noted that Jerusalem would retain its Islamic character and Arab identity, and that the occupation would not steal its character and identity, no matter how long it continues its crimes and its falsification of facts."

PA Minister of Religion: Al-Aqsa Mosque is in "grave danger" and must be saved from "destruction"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 5, 2015
Headline: "Ida'is: The occupation opened the new year with over a hundred attacks and incidents of desecration of the holy places"
"[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is said that the occupation had opened the first month of the new year with over a hundred attacks and incidents of desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs)... He explained that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is in grave and direct danger, and that with every sunrise, this danger grows - [a fact that] requires the consolidation of a mode of operation on the Islamic, Arab and international levels, in order to save it [the Al-Aqsa Mosque] from destruction, division or [from] the building of the alleged Temple. He stressed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, with all its territories, plazas (i.e., including the Temple Mount), buildings, porticoes and foundations both above and below ground, is an exclusively Islamic and Muslim right."

“Over 55,000 [Palestinian] citizens, including 200 elderly worshippers from the Gaza Strip, held the Friday prayer in the plazas of the Al-Aqsa Mosque…
The Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, emphasized during the Friday sermon that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is for Muslims alone, and condemned the policies of targeting the Mosque that are being implemented by the occupation authorities and the extremist Jewish groups. In addition, he urged the citizens to visit it [the Mosque] more often and to do more to protect it, and held the occupation authorities responsible for the consequences of their policy against the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Majority of Palestinians believe Temple Mount is in danger
Source: Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR), Dec. 6, 2014
"An overwhelming majority (86%) believes that al Haram al Sharif is in grave danger: 56% believe that Israel intends to destroy [the] Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock and replace them with a Jewish temple; 21% believe that it intends to divide the plateau on which the two mosques sit so that Jews would have a synagogue alongside the Muslim holy places; and 9% believe that Israel intends to change the status quo prevailing in the plateau since 1967 by allowing Jews to pray there. Only 6% believe that Israel is interested in maintaining the status quo without change. Half of the public believes that Israel will indeed succeed in implementing its plans for al Haram al Sharif.”

The Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip conducted this poll Dec. 3 – 6, 2014, following a period of high tension in Jerusalem in October and November 2014 that included riots in Palestinian areas and numerous terror attacks against Israelis on the pretext of defending the Al-Aqsa mosque from Israeli "aggresion".

PA Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is:
“All that Israel wants is to Judaize the Holy City, take over the Al-Aqsa Mosque, destroy it and build the alleged Temple. Under Jerusalem there is a city of tunnels belonging to Israel. Yesterday, I was told that Israel has an underground market beneath the Jaffa Gate, which draws many [Palestinian] residents who shop there.”

Abbas’ advisor: Israel is trying to take over Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: WAFA news agency, Nov. 23, 2014
“Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, said that Arabs and Muslims around the globe, especially those with foreign citizenship, must go to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and come together to Jerusalem to support the resolve of its residents. During a political forum held at the embassy of the State of Palestine in Algeria, Al-Habbash said: ‘Our people is now in the last stage of a war of existence and self-coercion against the occupation, which is seeking in any way possible to eradicate our identity, force a Caesarian birth of a Jewish entity and clone an illegal entity at our expense.’… In addition, he emphasized that the occupation – which thinks it has succeeded in winning the geographic war with [its] racist fences and roadblocks and that it will have the last word in the fairy tale of Jewish Jerusalem by taking over the Al-Aqsa Mosque – must be opposed.”
Abbas' advisor: Israel's "violations" and "attacks" against Al-Aqsa Mosque may lead to war
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Nov. 21, 2014

Abbas’ advisor and Supreme Shari’ah Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash delivers Friday sermon in the presence of Mahmoud Abbas:

“The [Israeli] violations, arrogance, recklessness, stupidity and foolishness will lead to what we fear - outbreak of a religious war between them [Israelis] and all Muslims... If [war] breaks out, it will not be confined to Palestine’s borders, nor to those of the Middle East. It may spread to the entire world. Wherever there are Muslims, there will be confrontations. Al-Aqsa is a part of the religion, creed and faith of every Muslim, so he will never accept any violation or any attack against it, or any desecration of its sanctity, or any non-Muslim sovereignty over even a millimeter of its land and the land of Jerusalem.”

On Oct. 22 and Nov. 5, 2014, two separate terror attacks took place in which ‎Palestinians ‎drove their cars into pedestrians in Jerusalem, killing 4 and injuring dozens. On Oct. 29, 2014, Islamic Jihad member Mutaz Hijazi attempted to assassinate Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a prominent activist working to assure rights for Jews to visit and pray on the Temple Mount.      “During a press conference organized yesterday [Nov. 20, 2014] by the Supreme Muslim Council in Jerusalem, under the heading ‘The tension [created] by the occupation still exists.’… [Fatah Revolutionary Council member] Hatem Abd Al-Qader, Fatah’s official for Jerusalem affairs, called for an Islamic summit [meeting] to draw up a plan to support the resolve of the residents of Jerusalem, in light of the attack on their city. He added: ‘The occupation leaves the residents of Jerusalem and the Palestinians no choice but to become time bombs, because of the blow [it is inflicting] on the holy places and Al-Aqsa.’ He added: ‘We have the right to defend ourselves, our city and our holy places. It is not the residents of Jerusalem that should calm down, but those who are invading Al-Aqsa, attacking women in an abominable manner, destroying the homes [of Jerusalem residents] and expropriating their lands.”

During the meeting, Qurei summarized the Israeli violations and attacks in Jerusalem, especially the events at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Invasions and systematic daily violations by settlers and extremist Jews are increasing [in frequency] – an issue which requires an international defense of Jerusalem, its residents, and its holy places from the Israeli aggression and [Israel’s] plans to Judaize the Holy City. Qurei emphasized the importance of coming out against the ceaseless Israeli aggression against Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. He called on the Arab and Islamic nation to stop the serious dangers threatening Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Representative of PA Ministry of Religious Affairs warns of "the continuing Israeli desecration of Al-Aqsa"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 14, 2014
"Many religious scholars and clerics have emphasized the importance of revitalizing and uniting the efforts and means on the local, regional and international levels for Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa [compound], and to protect it [Al-Aqsa] from the occupation. In addition, they noted that the defense of Jerusalem would not be carried out with declarations, announcements and the publication of religious rulings (Fatwas), but by rushing towards Al-Aqsa and through sacrifice. These statements were made at a conference for Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa held yesterday [Nov. 13, 2014] by the Ministry of Religious Affairs [in the Gaza Strip], under the patronage of [PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida'is and with the participation of numerous religious scholars, clerics and public personalities.
Ministry of Religious Affairs representative Hassan Al-Saifi gave a speech in which he addressed the suffering of the residents of Jerusalem and the continuing Israeli desecration of Al-Aqsa. In addition, he noted that Jerusalem has no need of declarations or religious rulings, but rather needs the religious scholars in particular to fulfill their duty, rush to Jerusalem and offer sacrifices and blood. In addition, he called on the religious scholars to remove their turbans, be present on the ground, and revitalize the role of the youth in defending Al-Aqsa."

PA daily: Israel is desecrating Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 12, 2014
‎"Our crises are growing from day to day, and dangers surround us on all sides... ‎Despite the fact that elements near and far have united to divide our land and ‎resources between them... the danger posed by Israel remains the greatest and most ‎significant of all, and the first [danger] we must come out against. For the Zionist settler ‎ideology does not seek temporary influence or gains, and does not strive to exploit and ‎exhaust resources, but rather sets the foundations for an eternal hegemony based on ‎the instructions of the 'rabbis' of the secret societies. And all this is in order to take ‎revenge on history and their minority and false persecution complex. These are [our] ‎enemies, and they have a hand in everything that is happening: in the issue of ISIS ‎‎[Islamic State] and its arming, in importing explosives to the Arab lands, in the spread of ‎extremist ideas and the deepening of the doctrinal conflict between Sunnis and ‎Shiites. In addition, they are the ones creating the crises. They are the ones igniting ‎the civil wars. And they are the ones exploiting our troubles to change the ‎characteristics of Palestine or of what remains of Palestine, and of Arab Jerusalem, all ‎the way to the Al-Aqsa Mosque... And it is Al-Aqsa that they are desecrating, Al-Aqsa - ‎not the grave of a Turkish sultan or turbaned foreigner - it is Al-Aqsa that is calling ‎you."‎

Fatah official: “Defend Al-Aqsa" from Israel's "attacks" and "invasions"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 8, 2014
“The national and Islamic factions, forces and activists in the Hebron district took part in [several] well-attended marches yesterday, Friday [Nov. 8, 2014] in support of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. One of the marches, organized by Fatah, left the Al-Hussein mosque after the Friday prayers… under the heading ‘For you, Al-Aqsa.’
Other marches were held in various areas of the district, during which protesters chanted angry slogans against the occupation and calls for support of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, including: ‘Al-Aqsa’s gate is made of iron, only the Martyr’s (Shahid’s) blood will open it,’ and ‘With spirit, with blood, we will redeem you, Al-Aqsa.’ They [the marches] ended with confrontations with the occupation forces… In a speech held during the march organized by [Fatah] in the city, Fatah Secretary in Hebron Imad Kharwat emphasized the importance of uniting in one rank to defend Al-Aqsa from the occupation’s attacks and the settlers’ constantly recurring invasions of its courtyards. Kharwat said: ‘All the Palestinian factions and forces throughout the homeland and the diaspora must awaken to defend Al-Aqsa, which is more exalted than any of these, until the words of our late leader Yasser Arafat are realized: A boy from among our boys and a girl from among our girls will raise the Palestinian flag over the minarets and church towers of Jerusalem.’ Fatah Central Committee member Sultan Abu Al-Einein said: ‘More mass popular activity is required in support of Al-Aqsa, for this mosque is the symbol of unity. It unites and does not divide, and it represents the nation’s honor. Let us fight for it to defend it and liberate it from the occupation’s filth.’”
Abbas advisor: “The Israeli enemy” has “infested our holy places in Al-Aqsa”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Nov. 7, 2014
Official PA TV News report on the demonstrations in Hebron in support of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
PA Chairman Abbas’ advisor on NGOs and Fatah Central Committee member Sultan Abu Al-Einein: “This (i.e., demonstrations in support of Al-Aqsa) reflects the setting out to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which the Messenger of Allah called us [to perform.] All the children of the homeland must be present at this clamorous confrontation with the Israeli enemy, which has infested our holy places in Al-Aqsa. For the first time, [the occupation] has entered into the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and is dealing with the Murabitin (those who carry out Ribat (religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) there with bullets and tear gas.”

Note: In a Hadith, Muhammad is said to have called Muslims to “set out” for three mosques – Al-Masjid al-Haram (in Mecca), Al-Masjid Al-Nabaw? (in Medina) and Al-Aqsa.
Abbas’ advisor: Israel's “insane war” against Al-Aqsa Mosque may lead to religious war
Source: Awdah independent Palestinian TV channel, Nov. 6, 2014
Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs:
“Today, the protection and defense of Al-Aqsa, the efforts and the Jihad – Jihad by means of the body and Jihad by means of supply – for Al-Aqsa are a personal religious obligation [Arabic: fard ayn] for every Muslim man and woman from one end of the land to the other… We see a crazy and insane war being waged against the holiest place for the Muslims in Palestine: the Al-Aqsa Mosque… If this escalation continues – and we have warned, the President [Mahmoud Abbas] has warned of this [possibility] – it may lead to a religious war... A religious war – to put it simply, that is – every Israeli would become a target for every Muslim from America to Japan, everywhere in the world, from all parts of the world. Every Muslim will feel that his religion and faith are being targeted, and that one of his holy places – the most important of his holy places – is being targeted. By whom? By these Israelis. These Israelis are [our] enemies and have become targets, because they are Israelis, for no other reason. The world’s Arabs and Muslims are the ones who will engage in direct confrontation [with Israel] on the material, operational and practical [level]. That is, you will be at war with a billion and a half Muslims…And this religious war will not be confined to Palestine. As I said, it may well [spread] to America, to Washington itself, to Europe, Asia, Africa. The fire of this war will reach every place in the world...”

Israel continues its attempt to “take control of Al-Aqsa Mosque” and its “Judaization” of Jerusalem
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Nov. 5, 2014
“At its weekly meeting in Ramallah yesterday, Tuesday [Nov. 5, 2014], presided over by Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, the [PA] government stressed that the occupation government is seeking to escalate the situation in the region in order to realize its aggressive settlement plans against the Palestinian people, its land and holy places…
In addition, the government stressed that the Israeli government had attempted to exploit the attempted assassination of the extremist [rabbi] Yehuda Glick, of which it [Israel] was the cause and for which it is responsible – in order to realize this plan. The government stressed that our people’s heroic resolve and strong willpower in the Holy City, the firm position of its leadership and the steadfast Jordanian position would thwart these plans.
It warned that the Israeli government would continue its attempt to take control of Al-Aqsa and to Judaize Jerusalem, and that the Arab and Islamic nation, the Arab League, the Islamic Congress and the Jerusalem Congress must therefore do their duty to defend the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, strengthen the resolve of the residents of Jerusalem, and aid the Palestinian people in the battle in defense of Al-Aqsa and the holy places…"
