Fatah spokesman blesses terrorists, calls on Palestinians to support and escalate the “intifada”
Headline: “Alayan demands that the merchants of Al-Wad Street and the Old City of Jerusalem be saved”
“[Official] Fatah Spokesman in occupied Jerusalem Raafat Alayan… called to the PLO, the Palestinian government, the private sector, and business people to formulate a campaign to aid the Old City and support the resolve of its residents and merchants. [Likewise he called] to go to it [the Old City] and increase the [Palestinian] presence in it. In addition, Alayan demanded that the Palestinian government hold a special meeting on the topic… in order to discuss all outstanding issues connected to Jerusalem… and formulate a local, Arab, and international plan to strengthen the legendary resolve of the residents of the holy city. Alayan emphasized that this legendary resolve succeeded in stopping the division of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by times and areas… Alayan blessed the whole Palestinian people, especially in the Hebron district, (many of the Palestinian attackers during the terror wave October-November 2015 have come from Hebron –Ed.) which has proven that it can guard the back of people of Jerusalem, and which has sacrificed much blood during this uprising. The Fatah spokesman in occupied Jerusalem concluded his words by saying that this uprising or intifada will continue until the realization of our desire to establish a Palestinian state whose capital is Jerusalem. He called on the Palestinian masses to give it [the uprising] more support, and to escalate it.”
"Division according to areas and times" refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount. The law seeks to designate separate prayer times and areas of the site for Muslims and Jews. Israeli PM Netanyahu has stated on many occasions that the Israeli government has no intention of changing the status quo on the Temple Mount.
