Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Palestinian newspaper accuses Israeli lawmaker of “invading” the Al-Aqsa Mosque and of “calling for the establishment of the Temple” on its ruins while visiting the Temple Mount
Al-Ayyam - Oct. 26, 2017

Headline: “Rabbi Glick invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque at Netanyahu’s decision”
“Godfather of the invasions and Israeli Parliament Member of the extremist Israeli Likud party Rabbi Yehuda Glick invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque [plaza] together with his son, following permission from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu…  In a statement, Glick thanked the Israeli prime minister for allowing him and his son to invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the occasion of his son’s wedding, while calling for the establishment of the Temple on the ruins of the Al-Aqsa Mosque (sic., Glick made no such call in his message).”

Israeli Parliament Member Yehuda Glick was given permission to visit the Temple Mount on Oct. 25, 2017, with his son Shlomo ahead of the latter’s wedding, in an exception by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to his policy of barring Israeli Parliament members from the site. In response, Glick thanked him on Twitter, writing: “Thank you very much Mr. Prime Minister, a wonderful gift for my son’s wedding, a very meaningful human gesture for me, and preparation for establishing a home out of a connection to the sanctity of the eternal house (i.e., the Temple), let them rejoice in the complete building.”

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “invasion.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

Rabbi and Israeli Parliament Member Yehuda Glick is the Chairman of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation that works to increase awareness of the central place the Temple Mount and the Temple hold in Jewish heritage through educational activities and by encouraging people to visit the Temple Mount. In addition, he is the coordinator of the LIBA initiative - The Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount initiative whose goal is to obtain freedom and civil rights for Jews on the Temple Mount. On Oct. 29, 2014, Mutaz Hijazi, an Islamic Jihad member and released prisoner, attempted to assassinate Glick, who was seriously wounded in the attack.
