Posted text: “[Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations] brother Abbas Zaki and the delegation – which included Tawfiq Tirawi and Samir Al-Rifai from the [Fatah] Central Committee, and Hanna Issa and [PA] Minister of Environmental Protection Adalah Atteereh from the [Fatah] Movement Revolutionary Council – met with His Honor Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad.
Brother Abbas [Zaki] conveyed the greetings of His Honor [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas to the Syrian leadership and people. He also briefed him about the recent developments, the changing of Jerusalem’s landmarks by the occupation forces, the recurring attacks against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the resolve of President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership against the US.”

The images show the Fatah delegation meeting with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in Syria. A portrait of Syrian President Bashar Assad is seen hanging on a wall in the background.

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "attack." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
