Libels
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Libels
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will.

Throughout history bogus conspiracy accusations have been used to incite hatred, violence, and mass murder. The myriad conspiracy libels concerning Israel, Israelis and Jews are an integral part of the Palestinian Authority’s ongoing hate promotion. PA libels claim that Israel conspires to infect Palestinians with AIDS, spread drug addiction, conspired and successfully murdered Arafat, and more. The PA’s goal has been to inculcate hatred to the degree that fighting and murdering Jews and Israelis will be glorified as heroic self-defense.
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Both Fatah and Hamas have generated and sustained religious hatred by disseminating the libel that Israel is attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque. With close to 100% of Palestinians identifying themselves as believing Muslims, this claim is highly
inflammatory and is often combined with the call to “defend Al-Aqsa” from the Jews. The Al-Aqsa libel includes numerous fabrications: Israel was behind a mosque fire in 1969; Israel is currently digging under the mosque in order to topple it; Israel plans to replace it with a new Temple; Israel is preparing a missile attack on the mosque, and more. This libel has been actively promoted since 1998.

This Hamas TV cartoon video depicts demonic Jews digging under the mosque in an attempt to topple it.

The following are more examples of the Al-Aqsa libel:
Editorial in PA daily condemns Israel's "brutal attack against Jerusalem and the plans to Judaize the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque," promotes Jerusalem riots
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2017
Excerpt of an editorial by the official PA daily

“After an expanded meeting of the Palestinian leadership, which was held two days ago [July 21, 2017] and was dedicated to a discussion on the ways of dealing with the occupation’s brutal attack against Jerusalem and the plans to Judaize the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas gave a speech directed to the Palestinian people. In his speech, he called on all the national activity factions – and particularly on Hamas – to rise above our disagreements, give preference to the national matter over matters connected to the factions, and act for the unity of our people… President Mahmoud Abbas’ call is the call of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This is a crucial historical moment: Either there will be national unity to support Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, or there will be a more brutal occupation and more dangerous plans. But Palestine will not agree to anything other than unity. It will not agree to a continuation of the occupation, and will not agree that its holy sites be harmed or undergo Judaization.”

Abbas: Jerusalem must be “purely Arab”, “no Palestinian state whose capital is not Jerusalem”; Israel planning to “establish alleged Temple”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2017
Excerpt of the full speech of Secretary-General of the PA Presidential Office Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim, given on behalf of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the opening of the Second National Forum for Scientists in Palestine

“You know that the Palestinian leadership yesterday [July 22, 2017] held a meeting… in order to discuss the current situation and formulate appropriate solutions to deal with the developments. As far as we’re concerned, Jerusalem is our political Qiblah (i.e., the direction for Muslim prayer, Mecca)… to which our compass will not cease to point, no matter what the sacrifices may be. There will be no Palestinian state whose capital is not Jerusalem, and Jerusalem must be purely Arab for its Muslims and Christians. We will not agree to Jewish rule or sovereignty over it... My brothers, [Israel] forcing sovereignty on Jerusalem is an old plan for these followers of the Talmud. I tell you that this is not about a division [between Jews and Muslims] according to [prayer] times or areas in Jerusalem (sic., on the Temple Mount), but rather it is a step on the way to establishing the alleged Temple, which they are talking about now in the most open manner and with the utmost recklessness and insolence.”

Spokesman of PA Security Forces: Settlers' "entry" to Al-Aqsa Mosque is cause of violence, denies Jewish connection to the Temple Mount
Source: Facebook page of Adnan Al-Damiri, the official spokesman of the PA Security Forces, July 22, 2017
Posted text: “The Al-Aqsa Mosque is 144 dunams (i.e., approximately 35.6 acres) to which the occupation state has no political, religious, human, or moral right. The extremist settlers’ entry to the Al-Aqsa Mosque is what is encouraging the violence, killing, terror, blood, and hatred, and creating an atmosphere that is appropriate for natural responses of equal value (apparently refers to a terror attack that took place a day before the post, in which 3 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.), and not a single one of the Palestinians who are defending the principle of their faith and their homeland. The myth of the alleged Temple has been refuted by all of the excavations and archaeologists, even the Jews among them (sic., ample archaeological evidence has proven the existence of the First and Second Temples). After dozens of excavations under the foundations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, they have not found a single [piece of] evidence for this lie. The occupation’s soldiers or its [metal detector] gates do not protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to metal detectors placed at the entrances to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.). [The Al-Aqsa Mosque’s] scholars, its young people, its women, and those carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) at its holy gates are the ones protecting it.”

Terrorists’ final words echo libel that Israel plans to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque, calls Jews “sons of apes and pigs”
Source: Palestine Today, independent Palestinian news agency (Gaza), July 21, 2017
Headline: “The will of Martyr Omar Al-Abd (i .e., terrorist, murdered 3), who carried out the stabbing operation next to Ramallah”

“My will to you
A blessing and peace will come to the most honored of mankind, the Prophet who was sent [by Allah], our master Muhammad. Read my will, which is also my last words to you. I’m a young person whose age does not exceed 20. I have many dreams and aspirations. In the past I knew that with the help of Allah my dreams would come true. I loved life [and wanted] to sketch a smile on people’s faces. But what sort of life is this? A life in which our women are murdered and our young people are abused, and they defile our Al-Aqsa Mosque, the place of our beloved [Prophet Muhammad’s] Night Journey, while we are asleep. Isn’t it a disgrace for us to sit idle? You whose weapons are covered with rust, you who only take out your weapons for display – aren’t you ashamed of yourselves? They’ve declared war on Allah. Isn’t Allah deserving of you making efforts for Him? They closed the Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to Israel closing the Temple Mount for two days and placing metal detectors at its entrances following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.), and your weapon did not respond to the call! All that is in my hands is a sharpened knife, and it answers the call of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Be ashamed to show your face! Be ashamed, you who arouse strife (i.e., the Hamas-Fatah rift) among us! Allah will take revenge on you and you will give an accounting before Allah! It is enough that we are all sons of Palestine and sons of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Abbas expresses pride to UN delegation over Palestinian struggle, claims Israel attempts to “impose new facts on the ground”, endanger the Al-Aqsa Mosque

Abbas’ religious advisor claims Israeli security measures on Temple Mount “constitute aggression against religious and political rights of Muslims”; Fatah claims Israel planning to “empty Jerusalem” of Palestinians
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 20, 2017
Headline: “Friday is a day of general high-alert and prayers will not take place except at the Al-Aqsa Mosque”

“Supreme Shari’ah Judge and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash called on the international community to act before it will be too late to prevent the deterioration of the situation in the Middle East and the world because of the continuation of the racist Israeli attacks against the Al-Aqsa Mosque (Israel placed metal detectors at its entrances after a terror attack in which 2 Israelis were murdered took place there on July 14, 2017; see note below –Ed.).
The supreme Shari’ah judge emphasized that the responsibility for the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the sole right of Muslims, and that the Israeli interference in Al-Aqsa Mosque affairs constitutes aggression against the religious and political rights of the Muslims.

The Fatah Movement yesterday [July 19, 2017] again emphasized its absolute opposition to the Israeli steps of aggression in occupied Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Fatah Revolutionary Council member [and Official Fatah Movement Spokesman] Osama Al-Qawasmi said in a press statement that Fatah will not agree to the implementation of the Israeli plan to empty the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy city [of Jerusalem] of its original inhabitants, the members of the Palestinian people.
Al-Qawasmi added: ‘We and all the members of our people that carries out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) condemn the illegal steps of the occupation authorities, and also oppose entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque through metal detectors.’”

He saluted the resolve of the heroic [Arab] residents of Jerusalem, who have confronted the occupation forces with their exposed bodies and their souls, and have always proven that they are the gatekeepers and defenders of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque…
He added: ‘The first Palestinian rebellion, the Al-Buraq rebellion in the 1920s (i.e., 1929 Hebron Massacre and accompanying riots), broke out from within the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to defend the Arab and Islamic identity of the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount). During it, the three heroes Muhammad Jamjoum, Ataa Al-Zir, and Fuad Hijazi (i.e., terrorists, see note below) died as Martyrs (Shahids) while defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The tunnel rebellion (i.e., Western Wall Tunnel clashes, see note below) also broke out from within the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in 1996, when [then Israeli Minister Ariel] Sharon defiled the mosque’s plazas (sic., the clashes broke out after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened an access tunnel. PA government: Israel is "targeting the identity, heritage, and faith of the Palestinians in Jerusalem," which will "ignite a religious war"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 19, 2017
“[PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah held the government of Israel – as the occupying power – fully responsible for the harm to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque…
During the weekly government meeting led by him, which was held yesterday [July 18, 2017] in Ramallah, the prime minister warned against the consequences of the occupation government’s steps in Jerusalem, which began last Friday [July 14, 2017] with the closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque (the Temple Mount was closed for two days and afterwards metal detectors were placed at the entrances to the site in response to a terror attack there in which 2 were murdered)… [The PA government] emphasized that what is happening constitutes blatant aggression and an Israeli plan that is targeting the identity, heritage, and faith of the Palestinians in Jerusalem, and their presence in the occupied holy city – something that is only liable to intensify the tensions in Jerusalem in particular and in the region in general, to lead to an explosion of the situation, and to ignite a religious war for whose disastrous consequences the government of Israel will be fully responsible.”

PA official: Uprising against Israel over Jerusalem is the “campaign of every Arab and Muslim”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 19, 2017
Headline: "Tirawi calls to support the members of our people in Jerusalem in their defense of the Al-Aqsa Mosque"

"Fatah Movement Central Committee member [and Fatah Commissioner of Popular Organizations Tawfiq Tirawi] emphasized that what the occupation is doing at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is not a security step, but rather a plan of the occupation prepared in advance, which is being implemented at this time by using the latest events at the Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., terror attack on July 14, 2017, 2 murdered; see note below) as an excuse…
He emphasized that our Palestinian people will not allow the harming of its [Al-Aqsa] Mosque and Jerusalem.
Tirawi demanded that all the national and Islamic factions join the masses of Jerusalem residents, and not leave them on their own in the campaign. He noted that this is the campaign of every Palestinian man and woman, and moreover – of every Arab and Muslim.
Tirawi said that the Israeli occupation must understand that it is not possible that there will be peace or security and stability in the shadow of the escalating violations against Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that security solutions will not bring security and stability."

PA officials: Jews have “no connection” to Temple Mount, continued Israeli “crimes in Jerusalem” will lead to “more violence and spilling of blood in the entire region”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 18, 2017
Headline: "Sources of authority in Jerusalem call to boycott the metal detectors, and Ida'is calls to go up to the Al-Aqsa Mosque"

"The Islamic sources of authority in Jerusalem… called on residents of Jerusalem and Palestine to resist all of the Israeli occupation's cruel steps, which are being expressed by a change in the historical status quo, and include placing metal detectors at the Al-Aqsa Mosque gates. They called not to use [the metal detectors] under any circumstances and not to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque through them.
In a joint statement, Islamic sources of authority yesterday [July 17, 2017] called on citizens to go up to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque to pray and serve Allah. They said: 'If they continue to require entry to the Al-Aqsa Mosque by passing through metal detectors, we call on the members of our people to pray and devote themselves to serving Allah before the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the streets of Jerusalem, and its alleys.'
[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida’is called on citizens to go up to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, to pray at the places they can reach, and to support the members of our people in Jerusalem, who are living these days under the swords of the right-wing [Israeli] government…

PA official: Israel changing Temple Mount status quo with placement of metal detectors; “more dangerous” than attack by “Jewish extremist” on Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: PNN Palestine News Network (independent Palestinian news agency), July 18, 2017
Headline: "Tayseer Khaled: Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are the main concern of the leaders of the Arab and Islamic states"

"PLO Executive Committee member and Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) political bureau member Tayseer Khaled called on the Arab and Islamic governments to act to curb the dangers threatening Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque now when it is clear that the government of Israel is using the events of last Friday in the area of the mosque and its plazas (i.e., terror attack on July 14, 2017, 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.) as an opening to change the status quo step by step, from letting worshippers pass through metal detectors, to the division of one of the holiest sites in the eyes of Arabs and Muslims according to areas and times (i.e., separate prayer times for Muslims and Jews).
He noted that what is happening at this time at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is much more dangerous than what has happened through all the years of the occupation, including the fire that broke out at the mosque after Jewish extremist Dennis Michael (sic., Michael Dennis Rohan, an Australian Christian; see note below) ignited a fire in its western wing on Aug. 21, 1969."

Hamdallah emphasized his absolute opposition to Israel's security excuses, whose purpose is to justify its steps of escalation at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He warned against the Israeli plans to change the status quo in Jerusalem, to harm the religious and historical status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to impose more limitations on the freedom of worship there.
He also emphasized that the Israeli military escalation, especially in Jerusalem, will lead to a deterioration of the security situation and an intensification of the reactions."

Fatah Facebook rebroadcasts Abbas' call to prevent Jews "in any way" from “defiling our holy places,” following terror attack on the Temple Mount

We must all carry out Ribat in the Al-Aqsa [Mosque]. It's not enough for us to say: ‘The settlers have arrived [at the Mosque]’. They have come, and they must not come to the Sanctuary (i.e., Temple Mount). We have to prevent them, in any way whatsoever, from entering the Sanctuary.
