Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Libels
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will.

Throughout history bogus conspiracy accusations have been used to incite hatred, violence, and mass murder. The myriad conspiracy libels concerning Israel, Israelis and Jews are an integral part of the Palestinian Authority’s ongoing hate promotion. PA libels claim that Israel conspires to infect Palestinians with AIDS, spread drug addiction, conspired and successfully murdered Arafat, and more. The PA’s goal has been to inculcate hatred to the degree that fighting and murdering Jews and Israelis will be glorified as heroic self-defense.
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Both Fatah and Hamas have generated and sustained religious hatred by disseminating the libel that Israel is attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque. With close to 100% of Palestinians identifying themselves as believing Muslims, this claim is highly
inflammatory and is often combined with the call to “defend Al-Aqsa” from the Jews. The Al-Aqsa libel includes numerous fabrications: Israel was behind a mosque fire in 1969; Israel is currently digging under the mosque in order to topple it; Israel plans to replace it with a new Temple; Israel is preparing a missile attack on the mosque, and more. This libel has been actively promoted since 1998.

This Hamas TV cartoon video depicts demonic Jews digging under the mosque in an attempt to topple it.

The following are more examples of the Al-Aqsa libel:
Abbas’ Advisor on Religious Affairs claims Israel plans to carry out a massacre inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: Sada Al-Balad, Egyptian news website, Sept. 27, 2018
“The [Egyptian] news website Sada Al-Balad met with Palestinian [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor [on Religious and Islamic Affairs] and Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash in order to discuss the recent developments in the Palestinian situation…

[Question:] What are the consequences of the Israeli government’s decision to allow settlers to conduct their religious ceremonies at the Al-Aqsa Mosque (sic., no such decision has been made, but a law has been proposed in Israel to divide the Temple Mount into areas and times that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray there, see note below)?

[Al-Habbash:] Israel wants to move its battle against Jerusalem to an advanced stage by allowing the Israeli settlers to conduct their religious ceremonies within the Al-Aqsa Mosque (sic., Jews who visit the Temple Mount do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque itself and are not allowed to pray there.) ...Israel wants to move its battle against Jerusalem to an advanced stage, and is now organizing not only visits, but also attacks and violations by the Israeli settlers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. From 2000 until today, these violations have been committed with the protection of the Israeli police and the Israeli occupation force, but without them allowing them to conduct any religious ceremony. Now, Israel wants to move to a new stage and allow them to conduct religious ceremonies within the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The meaning of this decision is that a real massacre will be committed within the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, because we will not submit, and no Arab or Muslim with a drop of honor and religion could submit, be silent, or agree to non-Islamic ceremonies being conducted within the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque

PA Minister of Religious Affairs repeats libel that Israel is plotting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to build the Temple
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 26, 2018
Headline: “Ida’is: The Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is thwarting the plots against it”

“[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is called on the members of our people to carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to thwart all of the plots that are being planned against it.
Ida’is said… that our people is showing interest in building mosques in order to emphasize the Palestinian Arab identity on these lands, and that our battle with the occupation is an existential battle…
He added that the occupation is not hesitating to invade the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that through this it wants to establish facts on the ground in order to divide it… and more than this, to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged Temple.”

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

The general mufti added: 'From the height of this pulpit (the Salah Al-Din pulpit) [parentheses in source], we announce to everyone – to near and far, to enemy and friend – that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is part of our belief and the belief of every Muslim in the world.         “Following the heroic stabbing operation (i.e., terror attack, 1 murdered) that young Khalil Yusuf Jabarin (i.e., terrorist) carried out at the ‘Gush Etzion’ settlement (sic., at Gush Etzion Junction), which lead to the death of an extremist settler, Hamas political bureau member Husam Badran stated: ‘At a time when the Israeli enemy is carrying out its ongoing aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and in the shadow of its ongoing attempts to impose a new reality on it, our Palestinian people are receiving the news today [Sept. 16, 2018] about the heroic operation that was carried out by young rebel Khalil Yusuf Jabarin at the ‘Gush Etzion’ settlement south of Jerusalem, which led to the death of a settler who is known for his extremism and his positions of hatred towards our people – and this is in order to reemphasize that our people will not be silent in the face of the ongoing violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque. While blessing this heroic operation, we emphasize that harming the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a red line, and that this operation is a response to warnings regarding the danger of what the occupation is currently doing, and what it intends to do at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Our Palestinian people knows how to respond to the occupation’s arrogance and its crimes.’”

Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 27, 2018
Headline: “Fatah: Israel has drawn up a plan for the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque”

“The Fatah Movement emphasized that Israel has drawn up a plan for the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and began to carry it out a long time ago, and this is through the ongoing excavations under the Al-Aqsa Mosque (sic., Israel does not excavate under the Temple Mount; see note below -Ed.) and harming its foundations and weakening them, in order to make its collapse a matter of time, and to make it look as if it is a natural thing and a chance event.
Official Fatah Movement Spokesperson [and Fatah Revolutionary Council member] Osama Al-Qawasmi said yesterday [July 26, 2018] in a press release that the rock that fell from the Islamic Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount) two days ago (sic., it fell on July 23, 2018) is a dangerous sign of the situation that the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings have reached. We emphasize that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, aboveground and below it, and also its surroundings are completely Islamic and the Jews have no right to them…
Al-Qawasmi also emphasized that Jerusalem, with everything within it, is completely Palestinian and Arab

Official PA TV reports on incident of rock falling out of Western Wall, blaming Israel’s excavations
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 24, 2018
Official PA TV, report on PA government meeting in Ramallah

Official PA TV reporter: “The [PA] government condemned the recurring Israeli invasions of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, explaining that the international community’s continued silence is encouraging the occupation to continue the aggression against our unarmed people, while pointing out that the ongoing attacks against the Al-Aqsa Mosque have reached their peak in the shadow of the comprehensive Israeli escalation against our people in different areas."

PA Government Spokesman Yusuf Al-Mahmoud:
"There are severe dangers facing Jerusalem today, and primarily the holy sites and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and particularly the invasions of the gangs of settlers. In addition to this is what happened yesterday [July 23, 2018] – a rock falling from the southwestern wall of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount) – which [Israel] related to as no more than a rock falling. But the [PA] government views this matter very seriously, because the falling of this rock indicates the extent and expansion of the excavations, which the Israeli occupation authorities are conducting under the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (Israel does not excavate under the Temple Mount; see note below –Ed.)."

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “invasion.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 22, 2018
Headline: "Fatah and the prominent figures in Jerusalem are calling to come out and go up and carry out Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque today"
"The Fatah Movement called on the prominent national figures in Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the State of Palestine, to go up to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) there. This was in order to stand up against the calls from the sides of the 'herds' of extremist settlers this morning [July 22, 2018] to invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque and carry out Talmudic (i.e., Jewish) ceremonies in its plazas (Jews wanted to go up to the Temple Mount on that day due to the Jewish fast day of Tisha B'Av; see note below –Ed.)"

“[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is said that the occupation’s actions in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are a dangerous violation… the last of which being the excavations that the occupation institutions are conducting underneath the Al-Aqsa Mosque (sic., Israel does not excavate under the Temple Mount; see note below –Ed.). He added that these excavations threaten its structures, plazas, and the lives of the members of our people who visit it… Ida’is emphasized the severity of the recent developments in the Israeli violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He noted that this requires a Palestinian, Islamic, and international position appropriate to the violations, which are advancing in a systematic and planned manner up to the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the establishment of their alleged Temple… On the same matter, [PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, [and Palestinian Supreme Fatwa Council Chairman] Muhammad Hussein warned that the excavations that the occupation authorities are conducting in the region of the Umayyad palaces… are disastrous. He predicted that all of the Islamic structures in the region would be undermined, and afterwards would be destroyed in order to change the holy city’s identity and completely Judaize it.”

Abbas’ advisor: Israel wants to “establish a false racist reality at the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestine;” Netanyahu has allowed Israeli MPs to “invade” and “defile” the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s plazas
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 11, 2018

In response to a group of extremist settlers engraving what is called ‘the Ten Commandments’ on the stones of the holy site of Hebron (refers to unconfirmed P alestinian reports that Jews engraved the Ten Commandments on a door of the Cave of the Patriarchs –Ed.), Al-Habbash said that this attack is considered a dangerous escalation in the series of daily attacks against the holy sites in Jerusalem and Hebron. This crime represents theft and forgery of our Islamic-Palestinian heritage at our holy sites and our mosques in broad daylight. He added that the series of Israeli crimes against the holy sites has severely escalated due to occupation [Israeli] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to allow the Israeli Parliament members to invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas and defile them (i.e., he lifted his ban on visits; see note below).”
