Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Libels
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will.

Throughout history bogus conspiracy accusations have been used to incite hatred, violence, and mass murder. The myriad conspiracy libels concerning Israel, Israelis and Jews are an integral part of the Palestinian Authority’s ongoing hate promotion. PA libels claim that Israel conspires to infect Palestinians with AIDS, spread drug addiction, conspired and successfully murdered Arafat, and more. The PA’s goal has been to inculcate hatred to the degree that fighting and murdering Jews and Israelis will be glorified as heroic self-defense.
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Both Fatah and Hamas have generated and sustained religious hatred by disseminating the libel that Israel is attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque. With close to 100% of Palestinians identifying themselves as believing Muslims, this claim is highly
inflammatory and is often combined with the call to “defend Al-Aqsa” from the Jews. The Al-Aqsa libel includes numerous fabrications: Israel was behind a mosque fire in 1969; Israel is currently digging under the mosque in order to topple it; Israel plans to replace it with a new Temple; Israel is preparing a missile attack on the mosque, and more. This libel has been actively promoted since 1998.

This Hamas TV cartoon video depicts demonic Jews digging under the mosque in an attempt to topple it.

PA religious council falsely claims that Israel is “systematically erasing all that is Arab in Palestine”

Headline: “The Supreme Fatwa Council: Our people will not submit to the Judaization of the education [system] and the ban on the Muezzin’s call”

“The [PA] Supreme Fatwa Council… warned against the intention of the occupation authorities to establish a fund for what is called ‘the alleged Temple Mount Heritage’ (i.e., it was reported on March 13, 2017, that Israeli ministers plan to establish a fund to educate about the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount –Ed.), as a realization of the policy of Judaizing Jerusalem, its holy sites, and the Old City. This is amid contempt for the UNESCO (UN Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization) resolution [of Oct. 13, 2016] that negated any religious connection between the Jews and the Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., the Temple Mount) and the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall), and considers them a pure Islamic heritage…
On another matter, the council warned against the danger of legalizing a ban on the call of the Muezzin (i.e., the person who sings the Muslim call to prayer, see note below), which comes as part of the insane attack against Jerusalem, the holy sites, the mosques, and the churches. This is part of a planned policy whose goal is to erase the Islamic and Arab presence in Jerusalem and all of the occupied Palestinian territories. The council explained that the attack against the Al-Aqsa Mosque is old and new, as it has constituted a target since the occupation of Jerusalem, and it was already burned and the blood of its worshipper visitors who were executed by the occupation was spilled on its ground, alongside the ongoing ban on worshippers to reach it (sic., Muslims have access to the Temple Mount, while the Jordanian Waqf bans Jewish prayer at the site and limits Jewish access –Ed.). The council also explained that the mosques and churches in all of Palestine, and particularly in Jerusalem, are subject to a strong attack by

Headline: "Ida'is calls on the Arab and Muslim preachers to talk about the topic of Jerusalem in the Friday sermons"

"[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is today (Tuesday) [March 14, 2017] called on the mosque preachers in the Arab and Islamic world to talk about the dangers surrounding Jerusalem in their Friday sermons in order to assist the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially following the approval of the [first reading of] the law that bans sounding the call to prayer in the mosques by the occupation authorities.
Ida'is said that the Israeli aggression that is escalating in Jerusalem and at the Al-Aqsa Mosque obligates the preachers and guides in the Arab and Islamic world to increase the awareness of the congregation of worshippers to the aggression, attacks, and invasions that are taking place in Jerusalem…
He emphasized that all of the Israeli Judaization initiatives will not dissuade the Palestinians from continuing to defend their holy sites."

PA Minister of Religious Affairs warns that Muezzin Law is "liable to lead to a religious war that will burn the whole region"
Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, Mar. 9, 2017
Headline: "The grand mufti condemned the limiting of sounding the Muezzin"
"[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Sheikh Muhammad Hussein condemned what is called the Muezzin Law, which was approved by the Israeli occupation authorities in a first reading [in the Israeli Parliament].
He said in a statement from the Dar Al-Ifta (lit. house of religious ruling – the Jerusalem Mufti’s office –Ed.) today, Thursday [March 9, 2017], that the attack against the mosques comes as part of a planned policy. He explained that the mosques in all of Palestine, and particularly in Jerusalem, are being subjected to a fierce attack by the occupation authorities as part of the extremism they use to harm the holy sites. This is so, whether by ongoing attacks against them or by burning them, destroying them, or closing them with false excuses…
[PA Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf] Ida’is demanded that the international community, with its states, governments, bodies, and relative organizations, intervene to stop these attacks against the mosques, and particularly the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque… He also described this decision as racist and held the occupation authorities responsible for the consequences that are liable to lead to a religious war that will burn the whole region."

PA government: Israel is working to "Judaize" Jerusalem and "shake the foundations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 8, 2017
"During its weekly meeting, which was held yesterday in Ramallah, led by [PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah… the [PA] government emphasized that the decision of the Israeli magistrate court in occupied Jerusalem - according to which the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a holy site for Jews and they have a right to pray there - is an invalid decision. This decision was issued by the occupation's court in an attempt to provide a legal character to the justification of the extremists’ attacks and the daily invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to render valid the occupation’s crimes against Jerusalem and the sites holy to Islam and Christianity...
In addition, this is also about the exposure of the falsehood of the Israeli narrative, with which the occupation has been misleading global public opinion and the international community for many decades, and which it has attempted to impose with military force from the first day of the occupation of the holy city. Today, it attempts this through a decision by the occupation's court... to escalate it as part of its policy to Judaize the holy city - the same policy whose latest expression was carrying out construction work in the area of the Umayyad palaces adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This was not in an attempt to prove any right of the Jews there, as they have already failed to do so despite the excavations that have taken place since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, but rather only to shake the foundations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and cause cracks in its walls."

PA Mufti: The Al-Aqsa Mosque “which belongs only to the Muslims, and [is] not a holy site for the Jews… is being subjected to daily attacks by the settlers”
Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, Mar. 1, 2017
Headline: "The mufti: The Al-Aqsa Mosque is an Islamic mosque that belongs only to the Muslims"
"[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories Sheikh Muhammad Hussein said that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is an Islamic mosque, which belongs only to the Muslims, and not a holy site for the Jews as the occupation authorities claim.
The mufti explained today, Wednesday [March 1, 2017], at a joint press conference in Ramallah with Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) representative in Palestine Ahmed Al-Ruweidi, that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is being subjected to daily attacks by the settlers under the protection of the occupation, which constitutes an attack against the sanctity of the site and the right of the Muslims to this mosque."

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “attack.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
PA minister: Temple Mount is “completely Islamic,” is under “strongest attack history has known”
Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, Mar. 1, 2017
Headline: “Ida’is: More than 95 Israeli attacks and violations against the holy sites and places of worship during February”

“[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida’is said that… the UNESCO (UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) resolution [of Oct. 13, 2016] regarding the Al-Aqsa Mosque is most important, particularly at this difficult stage in which the Al-Aqsa Mosque is subject to the strongest attack history has known. Therefore, [he said] it is necessary to implement the resolution on the ground immediately, and the Arabs and Muslims must have a practical plan for the defense of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He explained that in February [2017] the mosque was subject to a strong attack of invasions, lies, and media statements that completely contradict reality. The latest of them was the occupied Jerusalem Magistrate Court ruling, which determined that the Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., the Temple Mount) is holy to Jews and they have a right to pray there, and that no one can prevent them from entering its plazas and going up to what is termed ‘the Temple Mount’ (for the actual ruling see note below –Ed.). This is alongside the claim of the occupation police’s Minister of Public Security [Gilad Erdan] that ‘the Temple Mount’ is the holiest site to the Jewish people, and only to the Jewish people (sic., Erdan did not specify that the site is holy only to the Jewish people -Ed).
Ida’is again emphasized that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, with all of its plazas, is completely Islamic, and no decision of a court, whatever its name may be, or of any person, will change the irrefutable truth regarding the Islamicness of the site.”

PA Religious Affairs Minister repeats libel: Israel planning to destroy Al-Aqsa and establish “alleged Temple on its ruins”, igniting religious war “on a daily basis”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 27, 2017
Headline: “The [PA] Minister of Religious Affairs warns of its destruction - landslides south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque due to the occupation’s excavations”

“Landslides occurred yesterday [Feb. 26, 2017]… in the town of Silwan (i.e., a neighborhood in Jerusalem) south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque due to the occupation’s excavations, which are continuing in the area…
[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is warned against the occupation authorities’ reckless attempts to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque through the daily excavations that they are conducting around it. He added that the excavations are pushing the region into a furnace of religious war, which the occupation is igniting on a daily basis through these actions. Ida’is emphasized that these daily actions are nothing but a rejection and violation of the decisions of the international institutions, the latest of which was a UNESCO (UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) resolution late last year (i.e., on Oct. 13, 2016, see note below), which confirmed the exclusive right of the Muslims to the Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., the Temple Mount) and the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall)…
The [PA] Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places said that the landslides… are the beginning of the collapse of the holy city [of Jerusalem], and primarily the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rest of the historical landmarks of Jerusalem. In its statement, the council emphasized that these collapses are only an initial result of the excavations and tunnels that are eroding the land of the holy city. It noted the large network of tunnels that branches out underneath the Old City in occupied [Jerusalem], particularly underneath the foundations of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which has turned the ground in the holy city into soft and frail ground that is liable to collapse as a result of light rains. It added that what ha

Headline: “Issa: There are 28 tunnels under the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City”
“Fatah Revolutionary Council member and Secretary-General of the [PA] Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places Hanna Issa said that the goal of the destruction and excavation activities that the occupation state authorities are conducting in the Old City [of Jerusalem] and the Al-Aqsa Mosque is to change the Islamic-Christian Arab character of the holy city and to create a Jewish character for it.
Issa said in an interview with Radio Mawtini today, Monday [Feb. 27, 2017]: ‘The excavation and destruction activities of the occupation authorities in the holy city and around and under the Al-Aqsa Mosque are part of a calculated plan that is meant to shake the foundations of the mosque, and to change the Islamic-Christian Arab character of the holy city and to create a Jewish character for it.’ He emphasized that the occupation government will fail to achieve its goals even though it is fighting against time to realize this goal.
Issa warned against the occupation government’s attempts to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque through its ongoing excavations in order to build its alleged Temple. He emphasized that it will not succeed in achieving what it wants, despite all of its attempts to impose its rule on the holy city.”

Silwan and Al-Bustan Neighborhood Defense Committee member Fakhri Abu Diab : “A budget of $62 million is dedicated every year [by Israel] to supporting excavations and tunnels and supporting the settlement and settlers. I am only talking about the Silwan area (i.e., a neighborhood in Jerusalem), the area of the Old City [of Jerusalem], and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore it needs to be clear to everyone that every stone that they are falsifying, and every tunnel they are opening, and every home that is destroyed is a step in the direction of turning the Al-Aqsa Mosque, God forbid, into the alleged Temple. The occupation is acting strategically, step by step, in order to reach the main step, which is destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establishing the alleged Temple.”

PA Foreign Affairs Minister repeats libel: Israeli groups “attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque”, Israel is “Judaizing Jerusalem”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 21, 2017
Headline: “Al-Malki called on the international community to defend the principle of two states”

“[PA] Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al-Malki… updated a delegation of the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization ALECSO , led by the organization’s Director-General Abdullah Muharib, regarding the political, cultural, social, educational, and scientific developments in the Palestinian arena…
He reviewed the Israeli steps to Judaize the holy city [of Jerusalem], the latest of which was building Talmudic (i.e., Jewish) biblical parks on the Mount of Olives, as well as Israel’s attempts to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque according to areas and to impose by force a division according to times. He also warned against the extremist right-wing Israeli groups that are attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to establish the alleged Temple in its place, and added that these extremist groups are investing efforts to become the main engine of the Israeli governments and its direction.”

"Division according to areas and times" refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount, what the Palestinians call the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza. The law seeks to designate separate prayer times and areas of the site for Muslims and Jews.
However, Israeli PM Netanyahu has stated on many occasions that the Israeli government has no intention of ‎changing the status quo on the Temple Mount, which means Jews are allowed to enter the Temple Mount, but cannot pray there or engage in any type of worship.

Fatah official: “US is the enemy, Israel its advanced tool,” Israel destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: Al-Mayadeen (Lebanon), Feb. 19, 2017
“Fatah Movement leadership member [and Fatah Central Committee member] Abbas Zaki said in an interview with [the website of Lebanese satellite TV channel] Al-Mayadeen.net that the Arabs are incapable of carrying out a quality action against Israel, and added that Iran and its technological and military development, in addition to equations that Hezbollah has imposed, are causing the Israelis to think a thousand times before setting out on any sort of adventure, and [that they] serve as a shield for the Palestinians…

The following is the full interview:

[Question:] The Fatah Movement is among the bodies participating in the Support for the [Palestinian] Intifada Conference in Tehran. What do you intend to achieve from this conference, and how can such conferences serve the Palestinian cause?

[Abbas Zaki:] This conference is being held while the Americans and the Zionists are seeking shelter with some of the Arabs, who were silent over [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s statements and his claim that he has the best relations with them, and that the solution to the [Palestinian] issue will begin in the region and afterwards [spread to] the Palestinians. When a conference is held in Paris (i.e., the Paris Peace Conference of Jan. 15, 2017), it testifies to the interest in the Palestinian cause. However, when a conference is held in Tehran, which holds a very clear position against the US and Israel, it is a true victory for the Palestinian cause, which causes those with a conscience to feel the spiritual status of Palestine in such a way that it will constitute the kernel and the central cause in the hearts of all the Muslim and Christian believers. Therefore, this conference, which will be held in support of intifada, is a quality addition that grants a global characteristic to our Palestinian cause, regardless of the extent of the support and the surprising changes that this conferenc

The council emphasized in its notice that the process of changing the existing historical situation that the occupation authorities are perpetrating at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque has recently accelerated significantly. He explained that the occupation cannot hide from sight the attempt to falsify the facts and history, as everyone knows the history of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, including the international and official bodies…
The council urged everyone who can to come to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to invest the maximum efforts to do this and to strengthen the presence at it in order to defend it. It also emphasized the devotion of the members of our people to their mosque, whatever the cost and sacrifices may be, until Allah inherits the land and everything in it."

The department added that the secretary-general has deviated from his neutrality and his role with this grave statement, and crudely favored the Israeli occupation state, which indicates his clear ignorance regarding the international decisions regarding occupied Jerusalem... PA Mufti calls "on the Arab and Islamic nations... to defend the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, and to help them in all possible ways and means"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 31, 2017
“[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque Muhammad Hussein] emphasized in a statement yesterday [Jan. 30, 2017,] that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a purely Islamic mosque and no one but the Muslims has a right to it, and only they are allowed to intervene in its affairs. He also emphasized that the mosque has special significance for Muslims worldwide, and the decision to harm it is dangerous and deserving of condemnation by all standards...  The Mufti called on the Arab and Islamic nations to invest their greatest efforts in action to defend the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, and to help them in all possible ways and means. This is in order to protect the holy city and to prevent a policy of imposing facts on the ground, which is being carried out at full steam on the Palestinian land, particularly in Jerusalem and its surroundings, for the purpose of changing its Arab and Islamic characteristics.”

PA TV libel: Israel “desecrates holy sites, and kills women, children and the elderly”
Source: Official PA TV Live, Jan. 14, 2017
Official PA TV program Inside

Official PA TV host: "Most of the program's viewers today [Jan. 14, 2017], or perhaps all of them, expect us to talk about the electricity problem in Gaza in this program. That is what the Israeli occupation wants, and everyone that thinks like it. That is what everyone who does not love the Palestinian people and everyone who does not want the Palestinian people to receive its rights wants. They want us to move away and divert the path from the top and first goal of the Palestinian people, which is the liberation of its land and the liberation of the human being, the Palestinian human being, from everything that the Israeli enemy imposes on him. And therefore in this program we will not discuss the problem of the power outages in the Gaza Strip that sadden us and all members of the Palestinian people, as the basic goal is that the talk will not be turned inward, but rather toward the Israeli occupation that steals our land, desecrates the sites that are holy to us, and kills our children, our women, and our elderly without mercy or a conscience, and without any consideration for international law. Therefore we will devote our program today to the Paris Conference (i.e., part of the French Peace Initiative) that will take place tomorrow [Jan. 15, 2017]."

The French Initiative – A peace initiative proposed by the French PM Hollande’s government in 2015 aimed at reviving peace negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians. A one-day summit was held in Paris on June 3, 2016, attended by foreign ministers of the US, EU countries, and several Arab countries, for the purpose of advancing the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. At the end of the summit, participants issued a joint communique supporting a negotiated two-state solution and proposing an international conference before the end of the year. Israelis and Palestinians did not participate in this first summit, the

"Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki emphasized that the Palestinian leadership will not allow the transfer of the American embassy, and will be absolved of the previous decisions and agreements. He also warned against turning Palestine into a war zone if the new American administration decides to transfer it.
Zaki said today, Wednesday [Jan. 11, 2017], in an interview with Radio Mawtini: 'The transfer of the American embassy to Jerusalem will be a sign of the end of the world.' He added: 'The attack against the place of [Prophet] Muhammad’s Ascent to Heaven and Jesus' resurrection contradicts the religious and international understandings,' and he warned against the terrible dangers whose course cannot be predicted. Zaki emphasized that no power in the world can prevent the Palestinians, Muslims, and Christians as one from carrying out their national obligation to defend their occupied capital, and said: 'There is no Palestinian state without Jerusalem.'
Zaki said that he is convinced that the statements of US President-elect [Donald] Trump that were used during the election campaign cannot be implemented on the ground in Palestine and noted that this trend appeared in the 1960s when [former Israeli Prime Minister David] Ben-Gurion proposed it in order to establish the occupation state in Jerusalem and to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to establish the alleged Temple."
