Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Libels
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will.

Throughout history bogus conspiracy accusations have been used to incite hatred, violence, and mass murder. The myriad conspiracy libels concerning Israel, Israelis and Jews are an integral part of the Palestinian Authority’s ongoing hate promotion. PA libels claim that Israel conspires to infect Palestinians with AIDS, spread drug addiction, conspired and successfully murdered Arafat, and more. The PA’s goal has been to inculcate hatred to the degree that fighting and murdering Jews and Israelis will be glorified as heroic self-defense.
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Both Fatah and Hamas have generated and sustained religious hatred by disseminating the libel that Israel is attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque. With close to 100% of Palestinians identifying themselves as believing Muslims, this claim is highly
inflammatory and is often combined with the call to “defend Al-Aqsa” from the Jews. The Al-Aqsa libel includes numerous fabrications: Israel was behind a mosque fire in 1969; Israel is currently digging under the mosque in order to topple it; Israel plans to replace it with a new Temple; Israel is preparing a missile attack on the mosque, and more. This libel has been actively promoted since 1998.

This Hamas TV cartoon video depicts demonic Jews digging under the mosque in an attempt to topple it.

The following are more examples of the Al-Aqsa libel:
PA TV: Jews came to Palestine to “build their alleged Temple.” Once built, “they expect the Messiah will come… the Jews will be redeemed and rule the world for a thousand years”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 28, 2017

Official PA TV program Al-Aqsa Citadels, on the Temple.

Official PA TV narrator: "The Jews came to Palestine looking for a place to settle and a land to occupy. They came because of a Zionist belief and biblical prophecy that they strive to realize: To take over Jerusalem, which they call the Promised Land, and afterwards to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and build their alleged Temple. They expect that after they build it, the Messiah they are expecting will come, and through him the Jews will be redeemed, and they will rule the world for a thousand years. The Messiah will fight the antisemites, and will rule them according to the Jewish law. All the Jews from the different groups hold this belief about the Temple. First Prime Minister of the [Israeli] occupation government [David] Ben Gurion said: 'Israel has no value without Jerusalem, and Jerusalem has no value without the Temple (sic., Ben Gurion spoke about the significance of Jerusalem, but did not make this statement).'""

PA Ministry of Foreign Affairs in official statement: Israeli PM wants to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and build the alleged Temple
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 27, 2017
“The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the battle of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem is continuing and will only end with the disappearance of the occupation. The ministry explained in a statement yesterday [July 26, 2017] that… it appears that [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu thought that this battle would succeed thanks to American aid and Arab, Islamic, and international silence, but Jerusalem’s [Arab] masses and its national and religious leadership surprised him when they rose up to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., they launched violent riots) and prevented the success of his plans. The question that is still being asked is: ‘Will the matters stop at this point or will Netanyahu again repeat his attempts to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque according to areas and times prior to its destruction and the building of the alleged Temple, or will he instead adopt a new and different tactic?’”

PA Ambassador repeats libel to Archbishop of Cyprus: Israel Judaizes Jerusalem, strives to take over Islamic and Christian holy sites”

Israel decided to remove the measures on July 24, 2017 –Ed.).
During his meeting with the archbishop of Cyprus in the diocese palace for the end of his role as ambassador of the State of Palestine and head of the council of Arab ambassadors and the diplomatic corps, Ambassador Hassan said that the Israeli policy that is striving to Judaize the holy city [of Jerusalem], to take over the sites that are holy to Islam and Christianity, and to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque according to areas and times threatens to cause the outbreak of a religious war.”

Muhammad Ahmad Muhammad Jabarin, Muhammad Hamed Abd Al-Latif Jabarin, and Muhammad Ahmad Mufaddal Jabarin - Israeli Arab terrorists aged 29, 19, and 19, who shot from the Temple Mount at Israeli policemen, murdering 2 Israeli Druze border policemen - Haiel Stawi and Kamil Shnaan, on July 14, 2017. Two of the terrorists were shot and killed by other policemen during the attack. The third terrorist was shot and killed while trying to flee.

"Division according to areas and times"
refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount, what the Palestinians call the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza. The law seeks to designate separate prayer times and areas of the site for Muslims and Jews.

PA Religious Affairs Minister tells Palestinians to continue “popular resistance” after metal detectors removed by Israel, “Al-Aqsa belongs only to Muslims”

Headline: "Ida'is calls to go up to the Al-Aqsa Mosque tomorrow, Friday"

"[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida'is called on citizens to go to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in greater numbers tomorrow (Friday) [July 28, 2017] and all of the coming days, despite the Israeli occupation's steps and restrictions that divide [the citizens] from their worship. This is because the next stage is the stage of strengthening the achievements (i.e., Israel’s removal of metal detectors and security cameras that Israel placed at the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below) that the residents of Jerusalem obtained thanks to their resolve and popular resistance ‎(i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror)‎ to the occupation's steps…
He emphasized that the members of the [Palestinian] people in Jerusalem and the rest of Palestine have conveyed a clear and unequivocal message to the government of Israel: Our holy sites, and primarily the diamond in the crown, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, are not places [that belong to] anybody but the Muslims, who will not be lax in defending them."

Fatah youth movement calls for “widening confrontations with the occupation,” if Jerusalem is “harmed” – “it means opening the gates of hell before the occupiers”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 27, 2017
Headline: "The Shabiba calls for widespread participation in a Friday of Ribat as a sign of support for Jerusalem"
"The Fatah Shabiba [youth] movement in the West Bank published a statement in which it saluted 'the resolve and Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) of the members of our people, its women, young, elderly, national forces, and religious institutions in Jerusalem, which are currently proudly defending the Arabness of Jerusalem, the Islamicness of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the honor of the Arab nation and the Islamic nation.' The Shabiba movement also appreciated the position of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership, their latest decisions regarding Jerusalem, including stopping all types of contact with the occupation, and their call to the members of our people to carry out Ribat in order to defend the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. It also admired the position of the Palestinian leadership to aid the resolve of the Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem. Fatah's Shabiba demanded that its sons, activists, and supporters, and all of the young Palestinians widely participate in a Friday of Ribat, to widen the circle of the confrontation with the occupation forces and the herds of settlers, to open all the fronts in the villages, cities, and refugee camps, and to widen the area of confrontation so that it will include all of the settlements and roads that serve them, in order to convey the message of the young Palestinians that Jerusalem is a Palestinian taboo, and that harming it means opening the gates of hell before the occupiers."

PA daily op-ed: Israeli security measures at Temple Mount are basis for "what they call ‘the Temple,’” first stage in Israeli division and “tak[ing] over” the Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 27, 2017
Excerpt of an op-ed by Bakr Abu Bakr, Fatah Revolutionary Council member and regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “The intifada from Yasser Arafat to Mahmoud Abbas”
“The Zionist view regarding the [right to] prayer of Israeli Jews at the Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., at the Temple Mount), as happened at the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., the Cave of the Patriarchs), is the first and main goal. Likewise, [another] clear goal of placing the ‘sovereign’ metal detectors (see note below –Ed.) is to situate what they call ‘the Temple’ within the walls of the Al-Aqsa Mosque as part of the next stage, in which they will strive to divide the third holiest site to Muslims in the world according to areas, and afterwards will completely take it over.”

Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, July 27, 2017
Headline: “Fatah in Lebanon praises the resolve of the members of our people in the homeland”
“The leadership of the Fatah Movement in Lebanon praised the sacrifice of the members of our people in the homeland who are groaning from their wounds, silencing their pain, and anticipating the day of victory over the occupation army and those who have carried out crimes against the land of Palestine. In a statement today, Thursday [July 27, 2017], Fatah emphasized that the members of our people in Jerusalem and all of the homeland have proven that they are the ones that are the most capable of taking responsibility, and the most mature in understanding the [Israeli] plot to take over the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, and to Judaize them after emptying them of their [Arab] people and expelling the worshippers and those carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic), on the way to destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque and building the alleged Temple.”
Abbas’ deputy: Israel is facing “intifada and resistance”

"Fatah Movement Deputy Chairman, [and Fatah Central Committee member] Mahmoud Al-Aloul said that our people carried out intifada in order to resist the occupation's crimes and the decisions and steps of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's government in Jerusalem and at the Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to Israel placing metal detectors at the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below. Israel decided to remove them on July 24, 2017 –Ed.), and for its sovereignty and freedom. He also emphasized that the leadership has decided to transfer the matter of [Israeli] settlement to the International Criminal Court.
Al-Aloul added in an interview with Radio Mawtini today, Wednesday [July 26, 2017]: 'Netanyahu and his extremist government do not understand the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem in the heart of every Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim, and we think that Netanyahu is currently facing intifada and resistance from our people because of his army’s crimes and the extremist steps of his government.''"

PA government “demands Islamic nation notice real danger for Al-Aqsa Mosque, obligates Muslims throughout the world to act”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 26, 2017
Headline: “The [PA] government decides to establish an emergency committee and immediately implement the [PA] president’s instructions to support Jerusalem”

“During its weekly meeting, which was held yesterday [July 25, 2017]… led by [PA Prime Minister] Rami Hamdallah, the [PA] government emphasized its complete support for the positions presented by [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas in his speech on Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. It also emphasized its support for the government’s decision to freeze all of the contacts with the Israeli side until the cancelation of all of the recent steps, particularly in Jerusalem and at the Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to Israeli security measures at the Temple Mount following a terror attack there that were later removed; see note below -Ed.)…

The government demanded that the Arab nation and Islamic nation notice the real danger posed to the holy city [of Jerusalem] and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which obligates the Muslims throughout the world to act seriously and stand against the dangers encircling the holy city. [It added that] this obligates the international community to act immediately and fulfill its obligations in order to stop the occupation government’s attacks, its racist steps, its Judaizing violations, and the religious war that it is igniting against Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Abbas encourages Jerusalem riots: “We are with you in all that you have done and are still doing, you are causing us pride”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 26, 2017
“At the beginning of a meeting of the [PA] leadership yesterday evening [July 25, 2017], [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas said that as long as the situation in Jerusalem does not return to being as it was before July 14, [2017], there will be no changes whatsoever (refers to Israeli security measures at the Temple Mount following a terror attack there that were later removed; see note below –Ed.). The president added: ‘All of the new Israeli steps on the ground from that date until today need to stop, and then the situation in Jerusalem will return to normal. Afterwards we will continue our work on everything regarding the relations between us and them.’ The president said: ‘Since Israel tried to change the situation, the [Palestinian] residents of Jerusalem have risen as one (i.e., they launched violent riots –Ed.) You have objected to all of the [Israeli] steps, and we have supported you in what you have done and what you are doing. We are with you in everything that you have done and are still doing, as you are causing us pride, and you are taking care of your Al-Aqsa Mosque, your land, your dignity, your people, your religion, and your holy sites. This is the response to everyone who wants to harm our holy sites. Jerusalem is ours. It is our capital and it is [under] our sovereignty, and therefore what you [Palestinians] are doing is right.’"’

Official PA daily columnist: Israelis want to prevent Muslims from coming to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, destroy the mosque, and build the Third Temple
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 25, 2017

Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida columnist Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul: "
The step [Israel] took when it placed metal detectors was for the purpose of causing a deterioration of the situation that would impose a full division of the Al-Aqsa Mosque [between Muslims and Jews] according to times and areas. And the step that would
have followed this would have been to prevent Muslims from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque – the first of the two directions of prayer, and the third holiest site [in Islam] – and afterwards the destruction of the mosque and the building of the Third Temple."

PA Minister of Religious Affairs repeats PA libel: Israel “plans to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged Temple in its place”

Palestine This Morning, interview with PA Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida'is about Israel’s removal of the metal detectors from the Temple Mount, where they were placed following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered - see note below

PA Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida'is: "Israel divided [the Al-Aqsa Mosque between Jews and Muslims] regarding [prayer] time, when it admitted the herds of settlers in the morning hours and allowed them to hold Talmudic (i.e., Jewish) prayers, and after it began to place metal detectors [at the entrances] it wants to divide it [the Mosque] according to place. It wants to reach what is beyond that, as it has plans to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged Temple in its place."

PA Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns security measures on the Temple Mount following terror attack, praises riots; Abbas’ advisor warns about deteriorating situation
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 24, 2017
“The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned all of the steps and measures that the occupation authorities are taking against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque… whose goal is to put the status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque up for negotiation and to create a new reality, through which different issues of Israeli sovereignty will be forced on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to Israel placing metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.)…
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the members of our people, and especially in Jerusalem, have succeeded in thwarting the aggressive and dangerous Israeli plan through their uprising, and that they are waging the battle on behalf of the Arab world and the Islamic world… Supreme Shari’ah Judge and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash demanded that the UN and [UN] Security Council intervene urgently in order to stop the Israeli escalation, before the situation deteriorates further and reaches the point of no return.”

Editorial in PA daily condemns Israel's "brutal attack against Jerusalem and the plans to Judaize the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque," promotes Jerusalem riots
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2017
Excerpt of an editorial by the official PA daily

“After an expanded meeting of the Palestinian leadership, which was held two days ago [July 21, 2017] and was dedicated to a discussion on the ways of dealing with the occupation’s brutal attack against Jerusalem and the plans to Judaize the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas gave a speech directed to the Palestinian people. In his speech, he called on all the national activity factions – and particularly on Hamas – to rise above our disagreements, give preference to the national matter over matters connected to the factions, and act for the unity of our people… President Mahmoud Abbas’ call is the call of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This is a crucial historical moment: Either there will be national unity to support Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, or there will be a more brutal occupation and more dangerous plans. But Palestine will not agree to anything other than unity. It will not agree to a continuation of the occupation, and will not agree that its holy sites be harmed or undergo Judaization.”

Abbas: Jerusalem must be “purely Arab”, “no Palestinian state whose capital is not Jerusalem”; Israel planning to “establish alleged Temple”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2017
Excerpt of the full speech of Secretary-General of the PA Presidential Office Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim, given on behalf of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the opening of the Second National Forum for Scientists in Palestine

“You know that the Palestinian leadership yesterday [July 22, 2017] held a meeting… in order to discuss the current situation and formulate appropriate solutions to deal with the developments. As far as we’re concerned, Jerusalem is our political Qiblah (i.e., the direction for Muslim prayer, Mecca)… to which our compass will not cease to point, no matter what the sacrifices may be. There will be no Palestinian state whose capital is not Jerusalem, and Jerusalem must be purely Arab for its Muslims and Christians. We will not agree to Jewish rule or sovereignty over it... My brothers, [Israel] forcing sovereignty on Jerusalem is an old plan for these followers of the Talmud. I tell you that this is not about a division [between Jews and Muslims] according to [prayer] times or areas in Jerusalem (sic., on the Temple Mount), but rather it is a step on the way to establishing the alleged Temple, which they are talking about now in the most open manner and with the utmost recklessness and insolence.”

Spokesman of PA Security Forces: Settlers' "entry" to Al-Aqsa Mosque is cause of violence, denies Jewish connection to the Temple Mount
Source: Facebook page of Adnan Al-Damiri, the official spokesman of the PA Security Forces, July 22, 2017
Posted text: “The Al-Aqsa Mosque is 144 dunams (i.e., approximately 35.6 acres) to which the occupation state has no political, religious, human, or moral right. The extremist settlers’ entry to the Al-Aqsa Mosque is what is encouraging the violence, killing, terror, blood, and hatred, and creating an atmosphere that is appropriate for natural responses of equal value (apparently refers to a terror attack that took place a day before the post, in which 3 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.), and not a single one of the Palestinians who are defending the principle of their faith and their homeland. The myth of the alleged Temple has been refuted by all of the excavations and archaeologists, even the Jews among them (sic., ample archaeological evidence has proven the existence of the First and Second Temples). After dozens of excavations under the foundations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, they have not found a single [piece of] evidence for this lie. The occupation’s soldiers or its [metal detector] gates do not protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to metal detectors placed at the entrances to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.). [The Al-Aqsa Mosque’s] scholars, its young people, its women, and those carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) at its holy gates are the ones protecting it.”
