Libels
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Libels
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will.

Throughout history bogus conspiracy accusations have been used to incite hatred, violence, and mass murder. The myriad conspiracy libels concerning Israel, Israelis and Jews are an integral part of the Palestinian Authority’s ongoing hate promotion. PA libels claim that Israel conspires to infect Palestinians with AIDS, spread drug addiction, conspired and successfully murdered Arafat, and more. The PA’s goal has been to inculcate hatred to the degree that fighting and murdering Jews and Israelis will be glorified as heroic self-defense.
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Both Fatah and Hamas have generated and sustained religious hatred by disseminating the libel that Israel is attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque. With close to 100% of Palestinians identifying themselves as believing Muslims, this claim is highly
inflammatory and is often combined with the call to “defend Al-Aqsa” from the Jews. The Al-Aqsa libel includes numerous fabrications: Israel was behind a mosque fire in 1969; Israel is currently digging under the mosque in order to topple it; Israel plans to replace it with a new Temple; Israel is preparing a missile attack on the mosque, and more. This libel has been actively promoted since 1998.

This Hamas TV cartoon video depicts demonic Jews digging under the mosque in an attempt to topple it.

The following are more examples of the Al-Aqsa libel:

PA Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns security measures on the Temple Mount following terror attack, praises riots; Abbas’ advisor warns about deteriorating situation
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 24, 2017
“The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned all of the steps and measures that the occupation authorities are taking against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque… whose goal is to put the status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque up for negotiation and to create a new reality, through which different issues of Israeli sovereignty will be forced on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to Israel placing metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.)…
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the members of our people, and especially in Jerusalem, have succeeded in thwarting the aggressive and dangerous Israeli plan through their uprising, and that they are waging the battle on behalf of the Arab world and the Islamic world… Supreme Shari’ah Judge and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash demanded that the UN and [UN] Security Council intervene urgently in order to stop the Israeli escalation, before the situation deteriorates further and reaches the point of no return.”

PA Minister of Religious Affairs repeats PA libel: Israel “plans to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged Temple in its place”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, July 24, 2017

Official PA TV program
Palestine This Morning, interview with PA Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida'is about Israel’s removal of the metal detectors from the Temple Mount, where they were placed following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered - see note below

PA Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida'is: "Israel divided [the Al-Aqsa Mosque between Jews and Muslims] regarding [prayer] time, when it admitted the herds of settlers in the morning hours and allowed them to hold Talmudic (i.e., Jewish) prayers, and after it began to place metal detectors [at the entrances] it wants to divide it [the Mosque] according to place. It wants to reach what is beyond that, as it has plans to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged Temple in its place."

Fatah spokesman calls on Hamas to end the rift with Fatah and answer “the call of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the members of our people who are carrying out Ribat”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2017
"In a press statement yesterday [July 22, 2017], Fatah Revolutionary Council member and [Fatah] Movement Spokesman Osama Al-Qawasmi demanded that the Hamas Movement immediately heed the call of President Abbas and the leadership, answer the call of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem, and the [Arab] residents of Jerusalem, put an end to the [Fatah-Hamas] rift immediately, and direct the compass towards Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, because Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are bigger than any disagreement. He added: ‘Our hands are extended to Hamas to end the rift, on the basis of Palestine, Jerusalem, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque being bigger than all, and therefore [Hamas] must answer the call of justice, the call of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the members of our people who are carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic).’”

Editorial in PA daily condemns Israel's "brutal attack against Jerusalem and the plans to Judaize the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque," promotes Jerusalem riots
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2017
Excerpt of an editorial by the official PA daily

“After an expanded meeting of the Palestinian leadership, which was held two days ago [July 21, 2017] and was dedicated to a discussion on the ways of dealing with the occupation’s brutal attack against Jerusalem and the plans to Judaize the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas gave a speech directed to the Palestinian people. In his speech, he called on all the national activity factions – and particularly on Hamas – to rise above our disagreements, give preference to the national matter over matters connected to the factions, and act for the unity of our people… President Mahmoud Abbas’ call is the call of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This is a crucial historical moment: Either there will be national unity to support Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, or there will be a more brutal occupation and more dangerous plans. But Palestine will not agree to anything other than unity. It will not agree to a continuation of the occupation, and will not agree that its holy sites be harmed or undergo Judaization.”

Abbas: Jerusalem must be “purely Arab”, “no Palestinian state whose capital is not Jerusalem”; Israel planning to “establish alleged Temple”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 23, 2017
Excerpt of the full speech of Secretary-General of the PA Presidential Office Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim, given on behalf of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the opening of the Second National Forum for Scientists in Palestine

“You know that the Palestinian leadership yesterday [July 22, 2017] held a meeting… in order to discuss the current situation and formulate appropriate solutions to deal with the developments. As far as we’re concerned, Jerusalem is our political Qiblah (i.e., the direction for Muslim prayer, Mecca)… to which our compass will not cease to point, no matter what the sacrifices may be. There will be no Palestinian state whose capital is not Jerusalem, and Jerusalem must be purely Arab for its Muslims and Christians. We will not agree to Jewish rule or sovereignty over it... My brothers, [Israel] forcing sovereignty on Jerusalem is an old plan for these followers of the Talmud. I tell you that this is not about a division [between Jews and Muslims] according to [prayer] times or areas in Jerusalem (sic., on the Temple Mount), but rather it is a step on the way to establishing the alleged Temple, which they are talking about now in the most open manner and with the utmost recklessness and insolence.”

Spokesman of PA Security Forces: Settlers' "entry" to Al-Aqsa Mosque is cause of violence, denies Jewish connection to the Temple Mount
Source: Facebook page of Adnan Al-Damiri, the official spokesman of the PA Security Forces, July 22, 2017
Posted text: “The Al-Aqsa Mosque is 144 dunams (i.e., approximately 35.6 acres) to which the occupation state has no political, religious, human, or moral right. The extremist settlers’ entry to the Al-Aqsa Mosque is what is encouraging the violence, killing, terror, blood, and hatred, and creating an atmosphere that is appropriate for natural responses of equal value (apparently refers to a terror attack that took place a day before the post, in which 3 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.), and not a single one of the Palestinians who are defending the principle of their faith and their homeland. The myth of the alleged Temple has been refuted by all of the excavations and archaeologists, even the Jews among them (sic., ample archaeological evidence has proven the existence of the First and Second Temples). After dozens of excavations under the foundations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, they have not found a single [piece of] evidence for this lie. The occupation’s soldiers or its [metal detector] gates do not protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to metal detectors placed at the entrances to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.). [The Al-Aqsa Mosque’s] scholars, its young people, its women, and those carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) at its holy gates are the ones protecting it.”

Fatah official sends letter of complaint to UN Sec-Gen after he condemned terror attack: Israel is carrying out Judaization in Jerusalem, “excavations are still continuing in order to completely undermine [Al-Aqsa's] structure”
Source: Amad, independent Palestinian news website, July 22, 2017
"Fatah Movement Central Committee member and [Fatah] General Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki sent a letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres in which he mentioned the illegal status of the settlements and settlers, after Guterres condemned the stabbing operation in the settlement of Halamish (i.e., terror attack, 3 murdered). Zaki said in the letter that he sent to Gutteres: 'You must examine the illegal status of the settlement and become aware of the settlers’ crimes against the Palestinian people, its land, and its holy sites…
In addition, the [UN] Security Council's resolutions have condemned and voided all of the Judaization acts that Israel has carried out in Jerusalem... These resolutions have confirmed the illegality of the occupation and demanded that Israel retreat from Jerusalem, as it is part of the lands that it occupied in 1967… Therefore, the Israeli authorities have no right to change or renovate any part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which the Israeli authorities have turned part of it into a synagogue, and the excavations are still continuing in order to completely undermine its structure, which constitutes a war crime.'"

Fatah official: “The Israeli occupation is an enemy of the first order;” calls to “protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque” and to “resist the occupation”
Source: Safa, independent news agency, July 22, 2017
"Fatah Movement Deputy Chairman [and Fatah Central Committee member] Mahmoud Al-Aloul said that the Palestinian decision regarding what is happening in Jerusalem is clear, and it is to freeze all relations with the occupation, in all their forms and types... The Fatah deputy chairman added that the Israeli occupation is an enemy of the first order, and it must not exploit the freezing of Palestinian relations with it in order to punish the Palestinian leadership… Al-Aloul directed a message to the Palestinian people and said: 'Let us all unite around a unified position against the occupation, and we must understand that our basic argument is with the Israeli occupation alone. We must join together to protect our land, our Al-Aqsa Mosque, and our Palestinian people. We hope that the Hamas Movement will respond to the repeated call of the president to end the [Fatah-Hamas] rift, because this moment is a dangerous moment and the moment of truth… Al-Aloul called to resist the occupation, as it is not possible to reach any understandings with it in light of the unfair and ongoing Israeli actions against the members of the Palestinian people. The Fatah Central Committee is the one that led the events yesterday in the West Bank, and it is forbidden to submit to the policy of creating facts on the ground that Israel is imposing on us."

PLO official praises riots and “intifada” for the Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 22, 2017
“The [PA] national unity government yesterday [July 21, 2017] again demanded that the world fulfill its obligations and act urgently to stop the dangerous escalation in the occupied Arab city of Jerusalem… It added that the occupation government is rejecting all of the Arab, international, and regional calls, demands, and pressures to stop the steps it is taking (refers to Israel placing metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.), and is continuing the dangerous escalation policy through its insistence on trying to change the historical status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and in the occupied Arab city of Jerusalem – which constitutes a blatant and completely unacceptable attack on the holiest site to the Arabs and Muslims…
Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front and PLO Executive Committee member Wasel Abu Yusuf emphasized that our people is rising up (the root of the word is intifada –Ed.) at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and in Jerusalem with tireless determination in order to defend its Islamic and Christian holy sites… In an interview with the media, Abu Yusuf added that our people’s intifada in Jerusalem and throughout the Palestinian West Bank, as part of the popular day of rage against the occupation’s steps and the actions of the herds of settlers, is thwarting all of the plans being developed by the occupation government and its ally, the American administration.”

Fatah calls for “day of rage” to “support” the Al-Aqsa Mosque
Source: Safa, independent news agency, July 21, 2017
Headline: "The Fatah Revolutionary Council called for a mass popular uprising on Friday for the Al-Aqsa Mosque"
"The Fatah Movement Revolutionary Council said tonight [July 21, 2017] that it is monitoring with full interest and seriousness the developments of the occupation's aggression against Jerusalem in general, and against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, through a series of systematic steps that [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's government is carrying out against our holy sites and our people in Jerusalem. The Revolutionary Council emphasized in a press statement the necessity that Friday be a day of mobilization and support for the Al-Aqsa Mosque by everyone that can, and also a day of rage against the occupation in all the areas of friction. The council called to organize demonstrations towards Jerusalem from the adjacent cities, villages, and refugee camps. It also directed a blessing of honor and admiration to the members of our people in Jerusalem that are defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque with all their might, alongside the employees of the Waqf and the men and women carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic)."
Director of Cave of the Patriarchs: Israel is “striving to divide the [Al-Aqsa] mosque according to areas and times and to build ‘the alleged Temple’”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, July 21, 2017
Headline: “The Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Ibrahimi Mosque, and the unity of fate”
“Director of the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) Sheikh Hafzi Abu Sneineh emphasized to [the official PA news agency] WAFA that the pressures being exerted on the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the [Israeli] aspirations to take control of them are not something new…
He also said: ‘If the [Arab] residents of Jerusalem will be silent over this policy, the occupation will think that it will be easy for it to completely take control of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.’ He emphasized that prayer at its gates is a legitimate right, and the agreement to enter the mosque through the metal detectors (refers to metal detectors placed at the entrances to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.) is recognition of the occupation’s control and sovereignty over the site, and [the residents of Jerusalem] know best the fact that the occupation is striving to divide the mosque according to areas and times and to build ‘the alleged Temple.’”

Terrorists’ final words echo libel that Israel plans to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque, calls Jews “sons of apes and pigs”

Headline: “The will of Martyr Omar Al-Abd (i .e., terrorist, murdered 3), who carried out the stabbing operation next to Ramallah”

“My will to you
A blessing and peace will come to the most honored of mankind, the Prophet who was sent [by Allah], our master Muhammad. Read my will, which is also my last words to you. I’m a young person whose age does not exceed 20. I have many dreams and aspirations. In the past I knew that with the help of Allah my dreams would come true. I loved life [and wanted] to sketch a smile on people’s faces. But what sort of life is this? A life in which our women are murdered and our young people are abused, and they defile our Al-Aqsa Mosque, the place of our beloved [Prophet Muhammad’s] Night Journey, while we are asleep. Isn’t it a disgrace for us to sit idle? You whose weapons are covered with rust, you who only take out your weapons for display – aren’t you ashamed of yourselves? They’ve declared war on Allah. Isn’t Allah deserving of you making efforts for Him? They closed the Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to Israel closing the Temple Mount for two days and placing metal detectors at its entrances following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.), and your weapon did not respond to the call! All that is in my hands is a sharpened knife, and it answers the call of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Be ashamed to show your face! Be ashamed, you who arouse strife (i.e., the Hamas-Fatah rift) among us! Allah will take revenge on you and you will give an accounting before Allah! It is enough that we are all sons of Palestine and sons of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
