Demonization of Jews/Israelis
Terminology: "Zionist gangs"
Demonization of Jews/Israelis
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will. The PA presents Jews as possessing inherently evil traits. Jews are said to be treacherous, corrupt, deceitful and unfaithful by nature. These Jewish “attributes” and traditions are presented as the unchangeable nature of Jews. Forgeries and fiction masquerading as history are used to document and support the libel that Judaism is in essence racist and evil. Jews are said to be planning and executing heinous crimes, including burning Palestinians in ovens, murder, using prisoners for Nazi-like experiments, and more. If unchecked, these crimes constitute a mortal danger, not only to all Muslims and Arabs but to all of humanity.

The PA assigns responsibility to the Jews for all the problems in the world: Wars, conflicts and civil wars are all said to be triggered by Jews. Indeed, the oppression suffered by Jews throughout history is presented as the legitimate response of nations seeking revenge for the injury caused them by the Jews living among them. The creation of the State of Israel is said to have been a European plot, in order to be rid of their Jews and save Europe from the evil of Jewish presence in their countries.

The following are examples of Palestinian demonization:

PA Ministry of Information: Palestinian refugees were scattered by "Zionist gangs" in 1948
Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, June 20, 2017
Headline: “The [PA] Ministry of Information: The refugees’ right [of return] is a basic principle that will not be harmed”
“The [PA] Ministry of Information emphasized: ‘The members of our people who lost their lands and were scattered to all ends of the earth by the Zionist gangs in 1948 are the permanent symbol of our national cause. [Their return is] the basic principle in our political lexicon which will not change or be harmed, and the sacred right that has been guaranteed by UN decisions, and particularly [UN] Resolution 194 (see note below –Ed.).’...It called on the [UN] Security Council, the UN General Assembly, and the European Union... to do justice, to enforce the international and UN decisions, to settle accounts with Israel over its crime and barbarity, and not to realize its [Israel’s] dream of abolishing UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East).”

Fatah official: "Israel has surpassed ISIS in its crimes," Israeli government permits "the burning of the mosques by the gangs of settlers"
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Nov. 16, 2016
Headline: “Zaki: The decision to forbid [the sounding of] the Muezzin in Jerusalem will not pass”
“Fatah Central Committee member and [Fatah] Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki warned against the danger of the Israeli decision to legislate a law forbidding [the sounding of] the Muezzin (i.e., the person who sings the Muslim call to prayer) in places of worship in the territories that were occupied in 1948 (i.e., Israel), and to legalize outposts (i.e., a bill legalizing Israeli towns in the West Bank)…
Zaki emphasized that Israel has surpassed ISIS in its crimes, and it is currently behaving like a gang of criminals. There is no difference between the destruction of the mosques by ISIS and the ban [on the sounding of] the Muezzin and the burning of the mosques by the gangs of settlers under the official and security cover of the occupation government.”

On Nov. 13, 2016, a bill to ban religious institutions from broadcasting over loudspeakers was approved for a preliminary reading in the Israeli Parliament. The bill is intended to prevent noise pollution. This bill is referred to by many as the "Muezzin Law," although it does not refer to any specific religion.
Other countries have already approved or attempted legislation for regulating the use of loudspeakers in mosques in order to limit noise pollution. These include India, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Bahrain, the United Emirates, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France, the UK, Austria, Norway, and Belgium, and the US. The PA has also passed legislation regarding the use of loudspeakers in mosques in order to reduce noise pollution.
PNC: During Israel’s establishment, “most atrocious massacres were committed against our people, and... our people were expelled from its land by the Zionist gangs, under the auspices… of the British Mandate government”
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Nov. 1, 2016
Headline: “The National Council demands that Britain atone for the sin of the Balfour Promise"
“The Palestinian National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO) demanded that Britain, which gave the ominous Balfour Promise (i.e, Declaration), bear the legal and moral responsibility for all the tragedies that have befallen the Palestinian people…
Likewise the council demanded that the Palestinian and Arab institutions, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and everyone who identifies with us support the call of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas to submit a lawsuit against the government of Britain for issuing the Balfour Promise…
[The National Council added that] this unprecedented British promise was the main reason that hundreds of thousands of Jews were expelled to Palestine and established settlements in it, that the most atrocious massacres were committed against our people, and that our people were expelled from its land by the Zionist gangs, under the auspices and with the support of the British Mandate government.”

PA daily: "Zionist gangs" expelled Palestinian refugees at establishment of the "Israeli ethnic cleansing state"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 25, 2016
Headline: "Us, the UN, and its anniversary"
Excerpt from op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily
"Yesterday [Oct. 24, 2016] a ceremony was held in Ramallah for the 71st anniversary of the establishment of the UN…
As the organization (i.e., the UN) was starting out, the Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) of the Palestinian Arab people took place in May 1948. On Nov. 29, 1947, the organization adopted [UN] Resolution 181, regarding the division of historical Palestine – the land and homeland of the Palestinian Arab people – into two states (the Partition Plan, rejected by Arab leaders and governments –Ed.). One of them was named Israel, the colonialist pawn and spearhead of the capitalist West, [which the UN] allowed to exist, and gave it all that was needed in order to survive and live so as to serve its purposes, but [as opposed to this] it prevented the establishment of the Palestinian Arab people’s state, and through pretexts and ridiculous excuses did not allow the return of 800,000 Palestinian refugees, who were exiled by the Zionist gangs that occupied their land...
One of the main goals for the establishment of the organization was to guard 'human rights,' and they established this by publishing the 'Universal Declaration of Human Rights' in 1948. [However,] these are the same states that caused a new global tragedy that same year, by establishing the Israeli ethnic cleansing state…
They established on the land [of the Palestinians] a rogue outlaw state, the State of Israel, and brought to it all of the Jews of different nationalities, who accepted the false and fabricated Zionist narrative and aligned with it."

PA Ministry of Information: We stand with bare hands against "invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist gangs"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 29, 2016
Headline: "Ministry of Information: The Al-Aqsa Intifada is a milestone in our struggle"
"The [PA] Ministry of Information stated in a notice yesterday [Sept. 28, 2016] that the Al-Aqsa Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005) is one of the milestones in our national and legal struggle to get rid of the occupation…
The ministry emphasized in the announcement for the 16th anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Intifada that the fact that the popular uprising broke out in order to defend the first direction of prayer (i.e., Jerusalem), the second mosque, and the third 'sanctuary' (i.e., the Al-Aqsa Mosque), proves the depth of our people’s adherence to their Islamic and Christian holy sites, and this is the ongoing daily defense as part of which we stand with [bare] hands against the invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist gangs under the protection of the army of the occupation and its police…
The ministry in its statement encouraged the national, Arab and foreign media outlets operating in Palestine to mention the anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, and to note the state terror that Israel has perpetrated and still perpetrates against our people, and to bring back the stories of the Martyrs (Shahids), the injured, and the prisoners, who guard the freedom of Palestine with their blood, chains, and suffering."

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

Discussion about the life of Iskandar Khuri until the establishment of Israel in 1948, when he left his home in the Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem and went to Beit Jala, near Bethlehem.
Official PA TV host: "His family left first with other families when the pressures of terror by the Zionists gangs increased, and that (i.e., their leaving) was in order to protect their lives and because they thought that their absence from their homes would not last longer than two weeks and that afterwards they would return to them after the entry of the Arab armies into Palestine."
PA government calls on Palestinians of the "Interior" to carry out Ribat at Al-Aqsa
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 17, 2016
“In its weekly meeting, which was held yesterday [Aug. 16, 2016] in Ramallah led by [PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, … the [PA] government expressed appreciation for the heroic stand of our people who pray and carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic), from among the women and the men, who stand against the attacks of the Israeli occupation’s gangs and thwart their aggressive racist schemes against the first direction of prayer (i.e., Jerusalem). Likewise it called on our people in the [Palestinian] Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel) and all of those who can reach Jerusalem to come to it, to be there constantly, and to carry out Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its plazas, in order to respond to every attack against it.”
Palestinian daily refers to Israeli soldiers in 1948 war as "Zionist gangs" "with a thirst for killing"
Source: Al-Quds, May 18, 2016
Headline: “Refugee Ali Karake: They notified us that the Zionist gangs would be making a short visit!”
“Allar is an expelled village located southwest of ancient Jerusalem in an area called Wadi Al-Sarar, and includes a number of Crusader, Mamluk, and Ottoman antiquities and architectural monuments. Its residents were exiled during the 1948 war (i.e., the Israeli War of Independence, which Arab nations initiated and later lost against Israel), and the Zionist gangs established a number of settlement blocs on the village’s land and next to it.
Ali Muhammad Karake, 84, a refugee from the village of Allar… said that the residents of the village were afraid as a result of the acts of terror and massacres being carried out by the Zionist gangs against unarmed [Arab] citizens and farmers, and added: ‘We did not have weapons and we were not trained to deal with gangs and an organized army with a thirst for killing…’
He continued and said: ‘When news reached us that the Zionist gangs were nearing the village of Allar, the leadership of the Arab army came to the village and asked the residents to leave so that additional massacres would not take place.’ Karake added in an ironic tone: ‘The Arab army requested that we not go very far from the village, as the Zionist gangs would make a short visit and then leave, and then they (i.e., the Arab army) would let us go back. However, that short visit has continued until today.’”
PA Ministry of Information claims Britain’s “worst political crime” has led to Palestinian “genocide”; calls on Palestinians to continue path of “resistance”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 16, 2016
Headline: “National demands”

“The PLO International Relations Department emphasized that the right of return will continue to be one of the national principles that cannot be renounced, and that it is a sacred historic and legal right and cannot be changed according to international law and organizations, in accordance with UN resolution 194…

The department emphasized that the suffering must be put to an end for more than 5.59 million Palestinian refugees registered with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), who live in 58 refugee camps within the State of Palestine and abroad, and who were uprooted from their homeland as a result of the crimes perpetrated against them by the Zionist gangs in 1948 and 1967. Likewise, it demanded that they return to their land and be compensated for their continuous suffering…

The [PA] Ministry of Information emphasized that as a result of the genocide our people experienced, the uprooting and destruction of cities and villages, the free world is expected to fix its shortsightedness in regard to our cause, to declare its opposition to the occupation in all its forms, and to put pressure on Israel…

Palestinian National Council: Right of return is non-negotiable, peace will only come when the refugees return to land occupied by “Zionist gangs” in 1948
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 15, 2016

"The [Palestinian] National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO) demanded of the UN to act to implement resolution 194, to enable the refugees to return to their land that was occupied by the Zionist gangs in 1948, and to put an end to the arrogance of the occupation and its frivolous opposition of the international community's will by leaving our people under occupation."

Israel’s War of Independence described as “the offensive of the Zionist gangs against the Palestinian cities and villages”

"Before the outbreak of the Palestinian revolution the Palestinian woman was active in all areas of life, and stories from before the Nakba (i.e., "the catastrophe," Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) bear witness to this. During the offensive of the Zionist gangs against the Palestinian cities and villages, the Palestinian woman served as a doctor and assistant to all the Jihad fighters. "

Fatah official: “the Zionist entity carries out organized terror against the Palestinian people… like the Zionist Irgun and Haganah gangs”
Source: Al-Dustour (Jordan), Dec. 16, 2015
"Fatah Central Committee Member Abbas Zaki said that Jordan is considered the present refuge for all oppressed, and emphasized that Jordan's stability is a real strength for Palestine. During the mass rally in the [Jordanian town] Zarka at the compound for professional unions, organized two nights ago [Dec. 14, 2015] by the popular committee for the support of the popular uprising [in Palestine], to mark the anniversary of the Palestinian Stone Intifada (i.e., Palestinian wave of violence and terror against Israel, 1987-1993), he added that the current Jerusalem Intifada is the fruit of the renewed willpower in Palestine, and is an undirected intifada, arising as a result of the inability to coexist with the Zionist occupation… He noted that the Zionist entity carries out organized terror against the Palestinian people, as they are assembling Zionist organizations, like the Zionist Irgun and Haganah (i.e., Jewish defense forces in the pre-state period) gangs, which carry out terror and intimidate. He stated that the right of return of the Palestinian people who was exiled from its land will be guaranteed if Jerusalem is returned, and added that the liberation of Jerusalem can blow up the current Zionist strategy, which is based on the effort to build the alleged Temple in place of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
Fatah’s Jerusalem branch: We will continue the intifada in order to “thwart all efforts of the occupation and its Zionist fanatic gang to defile the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque”

Headline: “Fatah’s Jerusalem branch: continuing the resistance until freedom is achieved”
“The Jerusalem branch of the Fatah movement emphasized in a statement published today [Dec. 16, 2015] that the ongoing confrontation with the security forces and standing in front of soldiers in areas of friction emphasize the continuation of the intifada… Fatah’s Jerusalem branch noted at the end of its statement that history is witness to the resistance of the children of Jerusalem and Palestine, wherever they are, in order to protect their homeland in the face of the strongest means of violence and destruction, in order to thwart all efforts of the occupation and its Zionist fanatic gang to defile the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. The movement encouraged Palestinians to continue the struggle to obtain freedom and independence.”
Israel’s founding implied to be “historic injustice which has caused many massacres and crimes carried out by the Zionist terror gangs”

Headline: “The government inaugurates 20 projects worth over 7 million dollars in order to strengthen the resolve of Hebron residents”
“During its weekly meeting, held yesterday [Nov. 3, 2015] in Hebron, the [PA] government called for the UN Security Council and General Assembly to obligate Israel to remove the outposts in the Old City [of Jerusalem], to open the Al-Shuhada Road in Hebron, and to allow Palestinian security forces to spread out in the region in order to provide the civilians with protection from the settlers’ attacks and crimes… The government emphasized that the resolve of our people in Hebron and the great sacrifices the district’s residents have made… have caused the Israeli government to launch a revenge attack, which has caused the death of 29 Martyrs from the district during the popular uprising, who saturated the Palestinian ground with their pure blood…The government listened to a report by Hebron district Governor Kamel Hami about the settler attack against the district and the violations being perpetrated by the occupation forces and gangs of settlers. He expressed appreciation of the fact that the president [Abbas] and prime minister [Hamdallah] are making sure they receive all of the Martyrs’ bodies [from Israel] and bring them to burial with state funerals befitting them and their sacrifices… The government emphasized that even though 98 years have passed since the ominous Balfour Declaration, our people is still paying a heavy price with its land, its children’s blood, and its daily suffering, and the international community still stands by helplessly in the face of the historic injustice which has caused many massacres and crimes carried out by the Zionist terror gangs, which has led to our people being uprooted from their homeland.”
Israel’s founders were “gangs of [the] settlers” who committed “acts of killing and genocide”

Official PA TV program The State of Politics hosts Fatah Spokesman Ahmad Assaf
Official Fatah Spokesman Ahmad Assaf: “Stabbing attempt, threat, running over [by car], and all such excuses have become like a broken record. Nobody in the world listens to the Israeli stories any longer… At the moment, the soldier himself at the Israeli checkpoint has absolute authority over our Palestinian people. This trivialization of murder and the spilling of Palestinian blood is not insignificant; it is Israel’s calculated policy. Israel intends to draw us into a position of violence, and a cycle of action and response… as the gangs of the settlers acted before [19]48, with acts of killing and genocide, and crimes they committed. Today [Israel] strives to implement the same policy.”

PA daily op-ed: The seeds of ISIS were “sown here in Palestine [in 1948], with the first invasion of the gangs of the Zionist movement”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 2, 2015
Op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, Fatah Revolutionary Committee member and regular columnist for the official PA daily
“Barbarity is a characteristic of ISIS, which was created in Arab states, but what the world must know is that its first seeds were sown here in Palestine, with the first invasion of the gangs of the Zionist movement. The theft of the Palestinians’ land and homes, their uprooting with weapons and terror, and all kinds of crimes [committed] by Islamist ISIS and the ‘Jewish State’ today, demonstrate the root of barbarity, crime and terror… Israel worked to turn the settlements into incubators for the ‘Jewish State in Israel’ organization, and their gangs won an opportunity to be ‘fattened up’ and to receive protection from the army, government, and security services of the occupation state… Netanyahu and his government’s members are using the ‘Jewish State’ organization to trigger a violent Palestinian response, in order to justify its [Israel’s] turning to crimes against humanity and the terror of the occupation and settlements… ISIS in Iraq and Syria, ‘Jewish State’ in Israel, Boko Haram in Nigeria, Al-Qaeda in North Africa, Ansar Bait Al-Maqdis (a Jihadist terror group, -Ed.) in Sinai, and anyone using murder and bloodshed under the flag of religion – they have no religion and no homeland. They are all manufactured in a single laboratory, the keys to which are in the hands of the secretary of the Zionist occupation project and the Jewish settlement in Palestine.”

Fatah official justifies Palestinian violence as "necessitated by the crimes being carried out by the gangs of settlers"
Source: Al-Akhbar, Lebanese daily, Aug. 19, 2014
Headline: “An interview with Abbas Zaki”
Q. For the first time, the Palestinians are united behind their demands, but the negotiations have dragged on for two weeks. What is going on?
[Member of Fatah Central Committee and Fatah Commissioner of Arab Relations and Relations with China Abbas Zaki:] ‘In the past few days the ideas that have come up for discussion have not progressed, because they have not accomplished their goal; every idea was either vague or had a catch. Israel is experienced at evading an admission of defeat. For example, they condition the ceasefire on the cessation of hostilities, as though the legitimate struggle for the liberation of the land constitutes aggression.
They also conditioned our right to an airport and seaport, and even the rebuilding [of Gaza], on the disarmament of the resistance. The delegation refused this, and the Egyptian brothers did not repeat this request…’
Q: The occupied West Bank tried to demonstrate presence through shooting operations and confrontations through rocks. What about the possibility that a third intifada will break out?
[Zaki:] ‘What is happening in Jerusalem and the West Bank is a mass uprising, necessitated by the crimes being carried out by the gangs of settlers and the [Israeli] soldiers. As if history repeats itself, new price tag militias are based on the models of the Lehi, Etzel, and Hagana from the period of the establishment of the state, [David] Ben Gurion who gave the order to carry out massacres under the slogan “Let us defeat the Arabs through fear.” The popular uprising continues, but there are cautious expressions of armed resistance in the West Bank. The conditions are not yet ripe for intifada.’”

Official PA daily: "Zionist gangs," led by David Ben Gurion, "embarked on an ethnic cleansing ‎operation"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 27, 2014
‎     “In recent years, the Israel Antiquities ‎Authority has discovered numerous ‎Byzantine-period sites in the Negev ‎desert, including – in addition to churches ‎‎– synagogues from the same period, built ‎beside the churches. It is known that ‎several synagogues from the Byzantine ‎and early Islamic periods exist in ‎Palestine, including the Shahwan ‎Synagogue (i.e., the Shalom Al-Yisrael ‎Synagogue) in Jericho. The Israeli ‎‎[Antiquities] Authority’s efforts to search ‎for an ancient Jewish history have ‎resulted in nothing more than the ‎discovery of these synagogues – whose ‎existence reflects, according to all ‎opinions, what can be described as ‎tolerance during the period of transition ‎between the end of Byzantine rule and ‎the arrival of the Muslim Arabs in ‎Palestine.…‎
The [founding] father of the State of Israel, ‎David Ben Gurion, dreamed of turning the ‎Negev desert into a paradise in which ‎Jews would live; therefore, the Zionist ‎gangs embarked on an ethnic cleansing ‎operation which included most of the ‎Arabs. The Israeli authorities treated those ‎who remained like Indians, concentrating ‎them on special ‘reservations.’ Every ‎community outside the reservations was ‎considered ‘illegal…’‎
Every conqueror and invader who ‎reached this desert either regarded it ‎differently (i.e., saw its potential) – as did, ‎for example, the Nabateans, who built a ‎series of forts on the Incense and Spice ‎route…– or neglected it, allowing its tribes ‎to either fight or make peace with each ‎other, as the Ottomans did, or tried to take ‎control of it, as the new occupiers are ‎doing.”‎
