Netanyahu cites PMW-exposed terror glorification ‎
in his opening remarks at government cabinet meeting

In March 2010, PMW reported that the PA was planning to name a square in Ramallah after ‎terrorist Dalal Mughrabi, who led a 1978 bus hijacking that killed 37 civilians. Also in March of ‎this year, PMW exposed that the PA had in fact built and dedicated a monument in a Ramallah ‎square to the terrorist.‎

The New York Times credited PMW for exposing the PA’s plans to name the square after ‎Mughrabi (March 11, 2010). In addition, Fox News reported on the existing Dalal Mughrabi ‎square in Ramallah exposed by PMW (March 19, 2015).‎

Netanyahu continues to refer to Dalal Mughrabi Square in Ramallah in public statements. ‎Following the murder of an 18-month-old Palestinian baby on July 31, Netanyahu remarked that ‎while Israel condemns such murders and has “zero tolerance” for them, “they name public ‎squares after the murderers of children. This distinction cannot be blurred or covered up.”‎

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's remarks at start of cabinet meeting, Aug. 2, 2015:

"We recently witnessed two abhorrent crimes. Our policy toward these crimes is zero ‎tolerance. I have instructed security and law-enforcement officials to use all legal means at ‎their disposal to apprehend the murderers and deal with the stabber and the arsonists to ‎the fullest extent of the law.

We are determined to vigorously fight manifestations of hate, fanaticism and terrorism from ‎whatever side. The fight against these phenomena unites us all. This is not a struggle by ‎this or that faction. This is a matter of basic humanity… This is what distinguishes us from ‎our neighbors. We deplore and condemn these murderers.

We will pursue them to the end. They name public squares after the murderers of ‎children. This distinction cannot be blurred or covered up. It is important to say this ‎even as we utter our condemnations and unite against the criminals among our ‎people."‎
