During the meeting, which the Journalists' Syndicate called for with representatives of the sub-committees of the official media institutions, Abu Bakr announced the syndicate’s intention to begin preparations for holding elections in the official media institutions and to contact the administrations of these institutions in a manner that will guarantee the holding of true democratic elections that will express the [will of] the journalists and employees of these institutions…
The meeting was attended by the colleagues Haidar Daghlas, head of the Employee Committee at the Voice of Palestine [official PA radio] station, Raed Sharab on behalf of the committee of [official] PA TV, and head of the sub-committee of the syndicate at [the official PA news agency] WAFA Mahmoud Abu Bakr, alongside Al-Hayat Al-Jadida Employee Committee members Maysaa Bisharat, Bahi Al-Khatib, and Suhaib Zakarneh participated in the meeting."
