PA officials visit families of terrorists serving life sentences for planning and carrying out the murder of civilians

Karake said this during his visit to the family of prisoner Muhammad Al-Tous, who has begun his 32nd year in the occupation's prisons. He is one of the prisoners who was not released in the fourth group (of prisoners arrested before the Oslo Accords who were set to be released during the 2013-2014 peace talks –Ed.). Prisoner Al-Tous was arrested on Oct. 6, 1985 and was sentenced to a life sentence…
Karake and a delegation from the Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs visited the family of prisoner Jamal Rajoub in Dura in Hebron, who has begun his 19th year in the occupation’s prisons, and who was sentenced to a life sentence. Fatah Central Committee [Deputy Secretary and] member Jibril Rajoub and Governor of the Hebron District Kamel Hamid participated in this visit.”
In August 2013, Israel agreed to release 104 Palestinian terrorists from prison, which was the PA's precondition for renewing peace talks. The terrorists were released in stages. The first group of 26 was released on Aug. 13, 2013. The second group of 26 was released on Oct. 30, 2013. The third group of 26 was released on Dec. 30, 2013. The fourth group was scheduled to be released on March 29, 2014, but Israel delayed their release while negotiating the terms for continuation of the peace talks. When the PA submitted requests for admission as a state to several international bodies, Israel cancelled the release.
Muhammad Al-Tous – a Fatah terrorist serving a life sentence for a series of crimes. He was the commander of a terrorist cell that attacked 5 civilian buses in September 1985, wounding 16 passengers. He also issued the command to murder Zalman Abolnik in March 1984 and Meir Ben Yair and Michal Cohen in July 1985, and took part in the murder of Mordechai Suissa and Edna Harari in October 1985. He has been in prison since 1985.
Jamal Rajoub – a senior member of the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction) who was arrested in September 2002 on suspicions of planning shooting attacks and placing explosives in the Hebron region. Rajoub is serving 1 life sentence. PMW has been unable to verify the specific nature of his crimes.
Additional positions held by Jibril Rajoub: Head of the Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association, Chairman of the Palestine Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Palestinian Scout Association (PSA).
