PLO Chief Negotiator: “Normalization with the Israeli occupation constitutes a knife in the back, permitting [the spilling] of Palestinian blood”

Headline: "Erekat: Normalization with Israel constitutes a knife in the back and permitting [the spilling] of Palestinian blood"
"PLO Executive Committee Secretary [and Fatah Central Committee member] Saeb Erekat emphasized that normalization with the Israeli occupation constitutes a knife in the back, permitting [the spilling] of Palestinian blood, and a prize to the occupation regime, which is implementing all of the forms of terror against the members of our people. In statements he gave at the end of the summit of senior Arab officials, which the Arab Parliament held at the Arab League headquarters with the participation of several former and present Arab heads of state and ministers, Erekat said: 'All of the participants in the summit focused on one central point – the Palestinian cause.' …
He added: 'We hope that no Arab-Israeli meetings will be held on the sidelines of the approaching summit in Warsaw (i.e., the Warsaw Conference; see note below). What [US President Donald] Trump's administration wants is to change the Arab Peace Initiative and to award Israel with normalization – and this is completely unacceptable. We hope that the Arab brothers will talk in the language of interests. Today we recalled that there are three decisions that were made at the Arab Summit conferences in the past – in Jordan, Baghdad, and Cairo – that determined that the Arab states will cut their ties with any state that recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and transfers its embassy to it. This must be implemented.’"

Saeb Erekat also holds the position of PLO Chief Negotiator.

Warsaw Conference – the US is sponsoring a conference in Warsaw on Feb. 13-14, 2019, to discuss peace and security in the Middle East. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be attending the conference. The PA was invited to attend but has refused the invitation and requests that Arabs boycott the conference.
