“PLO Executive Committee member and Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad is continuing his meetings with senior Lebanese officials during his visit to Beirut, which is taking place following the recent events in the Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp [in Lebanon] (refers to violent clashes between Islamist terrorists and Fatah members -Ed.).

In press releases after the meeting, Al-Ahmad said: ‘This visit is taking place immediately after the criminal act that was committed by a group of terrorists pretending to be observant Muslims, but Islam has no connection to them. They are not far from the hostile plan against Lebanon and Palestine in particular, and against the Arab nation in general.’ …

He added: ‘We only want the truth, and that the Lebanese justice system will settle accounts with everyone who broke the law and participated in the crime of assassinating [PA Security Forces Maj. Gen. Abu Ashraf] Al-Armoushi (i.e., reportedly killed by Islamist terrorists in Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp on July 30, 2023)… The weapons and destruction should have been directed against the Zionist enemy, and not against this or that faction.’”

PLO Executive Committee member Azzam Al-Ahmad who spoke on official PA TV also serves as head of the PLO Department of Arab and Parliamentary Affairs, Fatah Central Committee member, Fatah Commissioner of National Relations, and Fatah Commissioner for Relations with Lebanon.
