The PA daily expresses its hatred towards the UN, US and UK, demanding apologies

Excerpt of a column by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for official PA daily and former advisor to former PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on national affairs

Headline: “The 101st anniversary of the British Mandate for Palestine”

“Tomorrow, July 24, [2023,] will be the 101st anniversary of the issuing of the British Mandate for Palestine by the League of Nations on July 24, 1922. Standing behind it were the US and Britain, even though North America was not a member of the League of Nations…

This ominous document… that was realized with the establishment of Israel on the ruins of the Palestinian people’s Nakba in May 1948 (i.e., “the catastrophe,” Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel)would not have existed or been approved in the previous and current international institutions (i.e., the League of Nations and the UN) without the bullying and hegemony of the US, Britain, the Anglo-Saxon and Francophone capitalist states, and even the Eurasian states, unfortunately. The latter got entangled [in the matter] as a result of ideological-political blindness and foolishness. In addition to this, all the western and eastern European states led by Washington wanted first of all to get rid of the Jewish problem, and to exploit the Jews wandering in their countries so that they would fulfill the role of a satanic pawn. This was to realize the goals of the global tycoons in general, and of the Zionist Jewish families in particular: Ripping apart the great Arab world and dividing it, dismantling the Arabs’ unity, and settling accounts from ancient history with the Arabs and Muslims in general, in other words, [revenge for losses during] the Crusades…

On this bitter and cursed anniversary, we must – in cooperation with the Arab brothers and all the friendly states that support the Palestinian cause – mobilize the efforts and wage an international campaign among those supporting peace and political, legal, and social justice, in order to achieve a number of goals regarding the British Mandate:

  1. Issuing a UN General Assembly resolution revoking the British Mandate for Palestine and burying it once and for all.
  2. An apology from the UN for the historical sin that it made when it approved the ominous document.
  3. An apology from Washington and London for the crime that they committed when they approved the document.
  4. Compensating the Palestinian people for the Nakbas and disasters that were caused to it as a result of its approval.
  5. Immediate and direct recognition of the Palestinian state as one of the manners of compensation.
  6. An immediate promise of international protection for the Palestinian people from Israeli fascism’s brutality and war crimes.
  7. Obligating Israel to uphold the demands of possible and acceptable peace based on the two-state solution in the June 4, 1967 borders.”
