In addition, it was the first spark of the Stone Intifada (i.e., the first Palestinian wave of violence against Israel, 1988-1993). Heroic commander Muhammad Salem Ali Abu Eida was born in this refugee camp… Our hero Muhammad grew up under the oppression to which our nation was subjected, and he carried this memory in his heart, determined to become part of national action and play a role in defending his oppressed people. The correct national education had a positive influence on molding his warrior personality. Note: Muhammad Salem Ali Abu Eida – a Palestinian police officer who was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his role in the Ramallah lynching on Oct. 12, 2000, in which a Palestinian mob brutally murdered two Israeli reservists who accidentally entered Ramallah and mutilated their bodies.
