Jerusalem clubs hold futsal tournament in honor of Abu Jihad, “Prince of Martyrs”

“The draw of the 22nd Prince of Martyrs Khalil Al-Wazir ‘Abu Jihad’ Futsal (indoor football) Tournament for young people born in 1995 or later, will be held on Sunday [April 24, 2016], at 5:30 p.m. at the Al-Ansar Club building. The tournament is organized by the Al-Ansar Club, which has organized it continuously since 1995, for the 28th anniversary of the death of commander Khalil Al-Wazir, under the supervision of the Football Association’s central branch. The tournament will be held next Friday morning [April 29, 2016] in the Burj Luq Luq field, under the auspices of the Jerusalem Clubs Association and in partnership with the Palestinian expatriate from the village of Turmusaya, Na’im Al-Hindi, and the known athlete Khamis Dkeidek.”

Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks. These attacks, which killed a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
