Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida  -  June 18, 2013

Headline: “During the weekly sit-down strike in Gaza and on the anniversary of the Acre prison heroes’ [death] – Al-Bardini: ‘Israel inherited the arbitrary sentences given to the prisoners from the British’”
“To commemorate the anniversary of the execution of Fuad Hejazi, Muhammad Jamjoum and Ataa Al-Zir, the three Acre prison heroes, the [Palestinian] National and Islamic Forces’ Prisoners’ Committee held a special conference on the subject of the arbitrary sentences given to the prisoners… in the [Palestinian] Red Crescent Society’s auditorium…
Fatah Commissioner to the Prisoners’ Committee, released prisoner Al-Bardini mentioned the heroic positions held by the Acre prisoners who led the Al-Buraq revolution (i.e., the 1929 Hebron Massacre)…
He said the three heroes had demanded to be supplied with henna because they saw themselves as going to the Martyrdom (Shahada) wedding.”

Note: Muhammad Jamjoum, Fuad Hejazi, and Ataa Al-Zir “committed particularly brutal murders [of Jews] at Safed and Hebron,” according to the report by British Government to the League of Nations. They were convicted of attacking British soldiers and murdering Jews in the 1929 Hebron Massacre in which 65 Jews were murdered. They were executed by the British in 1930.
