Libels
Since the Palestinian Authority was established it has systematically indoctrinated young and old to hate Israelis and Jews. Using media, education, and cultural structures that it controls, the PA has actively promoted religious hatred, demonization, conspiracy libels, etc. These are packaged to present Israelis and Jews as endangering Palestinians, Arabs, and all humanity. This ongoing campaign has so successfully instilled hatred that fighting, murder and even suicide terror against Israelis and Jews are seen by the majority of Palestinians as justified self-defense and as Allah’s will.

Throughout history bogus conspiracy accusations have been used to incite hatred, violence, and mass murder. The myriad conspiracy libels concerning Israel, Israelis and Jews are an integral part of the Palestinian Authority’s ongoing hate promotion. PA libels claim that Israel conspires to infect Palestinians with AIDS, spread drug addiction, conspired and successfully murdered Arafat, and more. The PA’s goal has been to inculcate hatred to the degree that fighting and murdering Jews and Israelis will be glorified as heroic self-defense.
Libel: Israel to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque
Both Fatah and Hamas have generated and sustained religious hatred by disseminating the libel that Israel is attempting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque. With close to 100% of Palestinians identifying themselves as believing Muslims, this claim is highly
inflammatory and is often combined with the call to “defend Al-Aqsa” from the Jews. The Al-Aqsa libel includes numerous fabrications: Israel was behind a mosque fire in 1969; Israel is currently digging under the mosque in order to topple it; Israel plans to replace it with a new Temple; Israel is preparing a missile attack on the mosque, and more. This libel has been actively promoted since 1998.

This Hamas TV cartoon video depicts demonic Jews digging under the mosque in an attempt to topple it.

The following are more examples of the Al-Aqsa libel:
PA religious officials: The Al-Aqsa Mosque is "being subjected to an unprecedented attack… and actions to divide it," Israel has "plots to destroy it and build the alleged Temple on its ruins"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Apr. 3, 2018
“His Honor the [PA] Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories [and Palestinian Supreme Fatwa Council Chairman] Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, His Honor Acting Jordanian Supreme Shari’ah Judge Dr. Wasef Al-Bakri, Director of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, and Deputy District Governor of Jerusalem Abdallah Siyam yesterday [April 2, 2018] in occupied Jerusalem welcomed a Canadian parliamentary delegation, which is currently visiting Palestine…
His honor the mufti… spoke about the dangers surrounding the sites that are holy to Islam and Christianity, and particularly the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque that is being subjected to an unprecedented attack, an increasing rate of change of its Islamic character, and actions to divide it according to areas and times, which will lead to the ignition of a religious war in the region. He also mentioned the plans of settlement and its goals in the Jerusalem area, and explained that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, whose territory is 144 dunams (i.e., approximately 35.6 acres), is a purely Islamic site...
Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani briefed the Canadian delegation regarding all of the Israeli violations against the Jerusalem Noble Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount)… and mentioned the plots to destroy it and build the alleged Temple on its ruins.”

Abbas’ advisor: Palestinians should come to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron and preform Ribat there, “to thwart the plans of the occupation and its settlers to turn it into a Jewish synagogue”
Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, Mar. 14, 2018
Headline: “Al-Habbash from the Ibrahimi Mosque: The Shari’ah court will remain and the occupation will disappear”
“Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash said that ‘The Israeli occupation will disappear, and we from the heart of Hebron emphasize that we remain here, together with our institutions that certify the Islamicness of this land and its Palestinianness - and the best proof of this is the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs).’ … These statements were made during a tour that Al-Habbash held in the Old City of Hebron today, Tuesday [March 14, 2017], in order to be updated on the Israeli violations and actions against the residents of the place… Al-Habbash also encouraged the citizens to come to the Ibrahimi Mosque and to routinely perform Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) there in order to thwart the plans of the occupation and its settlers to turn it into a Jewish synagogue.”

Fatah official attacks US over Jerusalem decision, demonizes Israel, and accuses Israel of “defilement of the sanctified places in Jerusalem,” and calls riots and terror attacks as “epics of courage”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Mar. 6, 2018
Fatah Central Committee Secretary and Head of the PLO Supreme Council for Sport and Youth Affairs Jibril Rajoub: “What American President [Donald Trump] did when he omitted Jerusalem with a single stroke from the final resolution issues provides a recipe for continuation of the war and adds fuel to the fire, and this is inappropriate conduct... The US, led by Trump, is working to cover up for the organized state terror that is being led by a government that includes extremist fanatics, while the actions of murdering and arresting children, destroying homes, and expropriating lands constitute the height of terror, which requires international intervention to restrain its wild behavior... The official, settlement, rabbinic, and Jewish extremism is what feeds the phenomena of extremism in the region, through that which the settlers are committing with the support of the occupation government: arson, murder, expropriation, imprisonment, humiliation, and defilement of the sanctified places in Jerusalem – and especially the incessant invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is thanks to American support and partnership…
The people of Jerusalem – who in July 2017 recorded epics of courage with their bared chests by defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem (refers to riots and terror attacks; see note below –Ed.) – raise their eyes to the young Muslims through you (i.e., participants at the conference) with much hope, faith, and resolution.”

PA Mufti calls on Palestinians to come to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque, “regardless of the price and sacrifices that this will require”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 1, 2018
Headline: “The [PA] mufti warned against the consequences of the attack on the sanctity of the mosques and churches”
“[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Muhammad Hussein warned against the dangerous consequences of desecrating the sanctity of the mosques and churches in holy Jerusalem… (possibly refers to Israeli measures to collect taxes on church-owned properties in Jerusalem, not churches themselves; the proposed measures were later frozen –Ed.) He also again emphasized the need to invest the greatest efforts in order to come to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and strengthen the presence there to defend it, while emphasizing our people’s adherence to their mosque regardless of the price and sacrifices that this will require.”

Sec-Gen of PA Islamic-Christian Council: Israel “has been waging a war against the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem since 1969, as Jewish extremists set the Al-Aqsa Mosque on fire in 1969”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Mar. 1, 2018
“At a press conference held by the [PA] Ministry of Information in Ramallah yesterday [Feb. 28, 2018] under the title The Consequences of Israel Imposing Taxes on the Churches in Jerusalem, Muslim and Christian clergymen emphasized that the [failure of] the decision to obligate the churches of occupied Jerusalem to pay taxes (the proposed tax would not apply to churches but rather only to properties belonging to churches –Ed.) is due to the will power of our people in Jerusalem and the united stand of its Muslims and Christians…
[Secretary-General of the PA Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places and Fatah Revolutionary Council member] Dr. [Hanna] Issa said: ‘Israel is attempting to weaken the Palestinian presence of Muslims and Christians in Jerusalem through this. It has been waging a war against the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem since 1969, as Jewish extremists (sic., he was a mentally ill Christian Australian) set the Al-Aqsa Mosque on fire in 1969, and this was also preceded by the burning of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on June 7, 1967 (PMW could find no record of such an event –Ed.).’”

PA daily op-ed: Israel is trying to ignite a religious war, is waging “wars” against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to destroy it and build “what is called ‘the Third Temple’ on its ruins”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 28, 2018
Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “Israel’s war against the churches”
“The Israeli colonialism state is continuing to wage its wars against the Islamic and Christian houses of worship (refers to measures to collect taxes on church-owned properties in Jerusalem, not churches themselves; the proposed measures were later frozen –Ed.) in order to ignite a religious war and turn the conflict from political to religious. It has not stopped its wars against the Al-Aqsa Mosque at all levels, and is still continuing to force through its terrorist agenda from a religious point of view. This is in order to force through a division according to times and areas, ahead of destroying the mosque and building what is called ‘the Third Temple’ on its ruins.”

PA daily: Settlers “broke into” the Al-Aqsa Mosque, heard about “the alleged ‘Temple’ during their provocative and suspicious tours” of the Temple Mount
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 22, 2018
Headline: “40 settlers invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque”
“Forty settlers broke into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday morning [Feb. 21, 2018] through the Mughrabi Gate under heavy security from the occupation forces. Sources said that the settlers listened to explanations about the alleged ‘Temple’ during their provocative and suspicious tours throughout the mosque.”

The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “invasion” or “break-in.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.

PLO delegation participates in conference in Iran, expects “support on the ground, particularly in occupied Jerusalem, in the captive Al-Aqsa Mosque, and in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Feb. 20, 2018
Headline: “Al-Za’anoun participates in the discussions of the Sixth Support for Our People Conference (sic., Support for the Palestinian Intifada Conference) in Tehran”
“A delegation of the Palestinian National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO) led by [Chairman of the Palestinian National Council] Salim Al-Za'anoun will participate in the discussions of the Sixth Support for the Palestinian People Conference (sic., Support for the Palestinian Intifada Conference), which will be convened in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on Feb. 21-22, [2017]…
Chairman of the Political Committee of the [Palestinian] National Council Khaled Mismar said: ‘Our people that is standing firm on the occupied homeland expects true support from this conference – not only through pretty statements and speeches that will be given by those who are invited, whom we thank. Our people in all of its cities, villages, and refugee camps wants to feel this support on the ground, particularly in occupied Jerusalem, in the captive Al-Aqsa Mosque, and in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. There are many ways to send this support, and the participants in the conference will be able to find a way to do that.’”

President of Al-Quds University on Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital: The US "must understand that the Palestinian people will resist this decision… whatever the cost of its resistance"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 30, 2018
Headline: "The president of Al-Quds Open University speaks at a conference on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena"

"President of Al-Quds Open University and [Fatah] Revolutionary Council member Prof. Younes Amr spoke at a conference organized yesterday [Jan. 29, 2018] by the [Fatah] Shabiba Student Movement and the student council at the Yatta branch of the university on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena…
He said that [US President Donald] Trump's promise (i.e., recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and promise to transfer the US embassy to it; see note below) is more dangerous to the Palestinian people than the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration), by virtue of which Britain gave Palestine to the Jews, and therefore Trump and his racist administration – which is biased in favor of the occupation – must understand that the Palestinian people will resist this decision with all of its strength and will not let it pass, whatever the cost of its resistance to the decision may be. At the moment we are at the stage of popular resistance to the decision, and it is possible that it will move on to a different stage.
He explained that the Canaanite Palestinian people has been under many occupations, all of which have passed, and that [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas spoke correctly when he said: 'We are remaining here and will not leave; the occupation is the one that will leave. Trump's declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation is meaningless, and our people and its leadership will continue to defy and stand firm. The Jews have no religious connection to [Jerusalem], and their connection to it is a connection of military occupation (sic., the last sentence in this quote was said by Younes Amr, not Mahmoud Abbas).'

They invented a temple, planned, and so forth with the goal of destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque… and the Al-Aqsa Mosque will never be destroyed, Allah willing, and it will remain exalted and Jerusalem will, Allah willing, be a capital and it will forever remain the capital of the State of Palestine, Allah willing.”

Girl’s antisemitic poem on PA TV: “Why did you bring the Jews to us, who defile Jerusalem and its great mosque?”
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Dec. 15, 2017

Palestinian girl Hiba, on the Giants of Endurance PA TV program:
"This poem is because of [US President Donald] Trump's decision that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel:
[Former British Foreign Secretary] Balfour, you vile person, what did you do to our people?
Is your conscience quiet?
Go in your grave toward the blazing fire
You are the one that expelled us, do not ask for help
You drank our blood from a goblet, and brought this fate down upon us…
You brought to our people those who orphaned small children
You have turned the best of our people into Martyrs and prisoners
Why did you bring the Jews to us, who defile Jerusalem and its great mosque?"

Al-Habbash demanded that the members of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem and in the 1948 territories (i.e., Israel) and everyone who can come to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) in it, and protect its sanctity…
Al-Habbash warned the occupation government not to take any crazy steps regarding the holy city and the holy sites in it following the reckless and irresponsible decision of the American administration (i.e., to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and transfer the US embassy to it).”
