Archbishop of Sebastia from the Orthodox Patriarchate at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem
PA archbishop of Sebastia accuses Israel of “attempting to uproot the Christians from Palestine”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 6, 2019
“The participants in a conference that was held yesterday evening [Jan. 5, 2019] at the Jebus Cultural Center in Jerusalem emphasized the importance of the Christian presence and its role in strengthening the Arab presence in Jerusalem…
The speakers at the conference emphasized… that the Christians are not a community or tribe, but rather the salt of the earth, and that they have fulfilled a role in the activity for liberation in the footsteps of fighter [former Greek Catholic] Archbishop [of Jerusalem Hilarion] Capucci (i.e., smuggled weapons to Palestinian terrorists)… Archbishop of Sebastia Atallah Hanna… criticized the discourse of exclusion and accusation of heresy [within Palestinian society], from which the colonialists who want our division are profiting... He said: ‘The amount of Christians in Jesus’ birthplace [Palestine] stands today at 1%. Over a million Christians have emigrated from Iraq, and over half a million Christians from Syria. The occupation is attempting to uproot the Christians from Palestine, and therefore we must act to strengthen the Christian presence in Jesus’ birthplace.’”

Head of the Sebastia Diocese of the Greek Orthodox Church says “Evangelical Christians” and “Zionist Christians” do “not belong to Christianity”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Sept. 24, 2018
"Head of the Sebastia Diocese of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem Archbishop Atallah Hanna said that neither the Christian nor the church dictionary contain anything called 'Evangelical Christians' or 'Zionist Christians.' He added: 'The aforementioned do not belong to Christianity at all; they have no connection to the values of Christianity and to the evangelical principles that always prefer to identify with the deprived and ill-fated of the world. They are closer to Judaism and Zionism and have no connection to Christianity.' Archbishop Hanna said: 'The Christian Evangelists are tantamount to pulpits in the service of the Zionist enterprise. They are enemies of the Christian values, and when they come to Palestine they do not visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Church of the Nativity, but rather the colonies located on the stolen lands of our people as a sign of solidarity with the occupation.'"

Mother of suicide bomber addresses students and administration at Palestine Ahliya University College: "Martyrs" died for "exalted goals"
Source: Al-Ayyam, Mar. 29, 2017
Headline: “A tribute ceremony for the mothers of the Martyrs and prisoners at Palestine Ahliya University College”
“The Progressive Student Action Front (i.e., the student organization of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)) at Palestine Ahliya University College yesterday [March 28, 2017] honored the mothers of the Martyrs (Shahids) and prisoners for Mother’s Day, eternal Land Day, and the 39th anniversary of the death as a Martyr of Palestinian leader Wadi’ Haddad (i.e., PFLP terrorist).
[Greek Orthodox] Archbishop [of Sebastia] Atallah [Hanna]... and families of Martyrs and prisoners from the Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Hebron districts were present at the tribute rally held at the university’s outdoor amphitheater …
Dean of Student Affairs Mahmoud Rahal noted that Land Day is the anniversary of the Intifada of Palestinian rage that flared up among the original owners of the land, who rose up against the policy of expropriation and Judaization. He also noted the importance of noting the anniversaries of the leaders and Martyrs, and called for Land Day to constitute a stage of struggle in the confrontation against tyranny, settlement, and the situation of division (i.e., between Fatah and Hamas), and the beginning of the national awakening for liberation....
Mother of Martyr Abd Al-Hamid Abu Sorour (i.e., suicide bomber, injured 21) gave a speech on behalf of the Martyrs’ families, in which she said: ‘The Martyrs are lovers of the land. They died to defend the freedom and honor of the homeland and the rights of the Palestinian people, and for exalted goals. They bore the dreams and concerns of their people and sacrificed their lives for them in the struggle against this oppressive occupation that uses all forms of aggression.’”

Palestinian archbishop condemns visits of “normalization” to Israel by Arab politicians and journalists
Source: Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Nov. 7, 2016
Headline: “Archbishop Atallah Hanna warns against normalization visits to Jerusalem”
“Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Sebastia Atallah Hanna said: ‘We understand the sincere desire of members of our Arab nation, Christians and Muslims alike, who yearn to visit the holy sites in Jerusalem and express solidarity and identification with the Palestinian people…’ He expressed surprise and concern, and added: ‘We notice that recently there are visits with a nature of normalization that have no connection to identification with the Palestinian people. There are Arab politicians and members of the media who visit Palestine for the goal of identifying with the occupier, without considering moral, human, or national values of any kind.’
The archbishop added: ‘Recently a group of members of the media and journalists arrived from one of the Arab states, as part of an unprecedented act of normalization. This is a phenomenon that must be opposed and condemned, because it harms our Palestinian cause and serves the interest of the occupation, which is trying to advance its narrative and policy against the [Palestinian] people.’”

The policy of collective punishment being perpetrated against you is totally unacceptable to us, and holding the Martyrs’ bodies is a despicable crime, opposed to all norms, values, and ethics. This is the first time we hear of the imprisonment of Martyrs’ bodies, and this happens only to us.”

Archbishop warns of "Israeli plan to expel the Christians of Palestine"
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, May 17, 2011
Headline: “Religious figures warn of Israeli plan to expel Palestine’s Christians”
“Christian religious figures and public opinion shapers warned of an Israeli plan to expel the Christians of Palestine. They emphasized the spirit of fraternity and love binding the Muslims and Christians in Palestine and in the Middle East. These sentiments were expressed in statements documented on an Internet forum established by an Arab-European research center located in Paris, under the heading, ‘Is there a plan to remove the Christians of the East?’
The Archbishop of Sebastia from the Orthodox Patriarchate at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, Archbishop Atalla Hanna, said: ‘Yes, there is a plan to remove the Christians from the East, and this is because the Israeli occupation wants to present the Palestinian issue as a religious conflict, while it is not so. This is a conflict between the Israeli occupation, which has no right, and the Palestinian people, which possesses the right and the land.’
Hanna added: ‘We believe that there is an Israeli plan to empty out the holy land, and that the disappearance of Christians from the East is a clear Israeli interest, because Israel wants Palestine to look as though it is one single color, one single group.’"
