PA PM honors families of Martyrs and says that the PA and PLO "will continue to act to improve the allowances of Martyrs’ families as soon as possible”

“[PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah emphasized that the government and PLO institutions involved in the matter will continue to act to improve the allowances of Martyrs’ (Shahids’) families as soon as possible, and that they are acting to ensure that the rights of the Martyrs’ families will not be harmed, even in the shadow of the financial crises and difficulties that are shaking them (i.e., the government and PLO institutions). He emphasized that we will make an effort to improve their living conditions, and that services are continuing to be provided in the homeland and abroad on the basis of justice and equality, with no discrimination. The statements were made while he [Hamdallah] participated in the central fast-breaking mass meal honoring the families of Palestine’s Martyrs, held in Ramallah… The Prime Minister stated: ‘First of all, while we remember today the execution of Martyr commanders Muhammad Jamjoum, Fuad Hijazi, and Ataa Al-Zir in the Acre Prison in 1930, allow me to ask Allah to have mercy on the souls of the Martyrs of Palestine, who are more honored than all of us. [Allow me] to salute with honor and appreciation their family members, with whom we are meeting again today.”
Muhammad Jamjoum, Fuad Hijazi, and Ataa Al-Zir “committed particularly brutal murders [of Jews] at Safed and Hebron,” according to the report by British Government to the League of Nations. They were convicted of attacking British soldiers and murdering Jews in the 1929 Hebron Massacre, in which 65 Jews were murdered. They were executed by the British in 1930.
