Ramallah Governor pays respects to grave of terrorist who killed 8 civilians and 3 soldiers

“During their visit today [Sept. 24, 2015], Thursday, to the memorial for the Martyrs (Shahids) of the Palestinian revolution in El-Bireh, in the Al-Amari, Jalazone, and Beitunia refugee camps, District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam and the security forces in the district laid wreaths of flowers [on the graves] and read the Al-Fatiha [Sura] for the souls of the Martyrs. Ghannam laid wreaths of flowers on the grave of the Jordanian army’s Martyrs, and the grave of the Palestine Martyrs in the El-Bireh cemetery, on the [grave of] the Martyrs of the Savoy operation (i.e., terror attack, 11 killed) in the Ramallah cemetery, and on the graves of the Martyrs of the Al-Amari, Beitunia, and Jalazone refugee camps.”

Savoy terror attack: In March 1975, eight terrorists traveled by boat from Lebanon to a Tel Aviv beach. They took over the Savoy Hotel and took guests as hostages. The next morning, Israeli forces attacked and killed seven of the terrorists. Eight hostages and three soldiers were killed by the terrorists during the attack.
