“[PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said: ‘I am honored and happy to participate today in a ceremony honoring leadership member Marwan Barghouti (i.e., terrorist who orchestrated three shooting attacks in which 5 were murdered) and to be present at the first screening of the documentary film produced by the [independent Palestinian] Ma’an media network in order to present his national path. At this opportunity, on behalf of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, myself, and the government, I send greetings of honor and admiration to leadership member Marwan Barghouti, the symbol of the national activity and the prisoners’ movement, and to all of the prisoners in the occupation’s prisons.’
These things were said today, Tuesday [Feb. 7, 2017], in Ramallah, in the presence of District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam, Israeli parliament member from the Joint [Arab] List Ahmed Tibi, Chairman of the Ma’an media network Nasser Al-Laham, a number of Fatah Central Committee and Fatah Revolutionary Committee members, and a number of ministers and official and prominent figures, during his [PA PM Rami Hamdallah’s] speech at the first screening of the Ma’an media network’s documentary film on the path of fighter Marwan Barghouti.
The prime minster added: ‘I praise the heroic resolve of fighter Marwan Barghouti in the occupation’s prisons, in which he has spent more than 20 years of his life, including more than 100 days in solitary confinement. Marwan is still sacrificing his freedom, alongside his brothers and comrades, in the darkness of the prison for the freedom of the members of his people, and in order to defend the holiest cause, on the basis of their belief in the inevitable victory over the injustice and the jailors, and we are convinced that the occupation will pass from this world.’ …
Hamdallah continued: ‘The fact that the Ma’an media network has produced a documentary film that talks about the life of fighter prisoner Marwan Barghouti and examines his national path - from his university studies to his forced expulsion from the homeland’s soil to his abduction to the occupation’s prisons - has great significance for the process of documenting the struggles of the Palestinian national movement.’ …
Hamdallah explained: ‘We have already announced our support for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to fighter Marwan, and I again emphasize our support for all of the efforts invested in this matter, as the candidacy of Barghouti for this prize constitutes support from the free people of the world for our just cause and the struggles of the members of our people, and primarily the grand prisoners in the occupation’s prisons.”
Marwan Barghouti – Palestinian terrorist who is serving 5 life sentences for orchestrating three shooting attacks that killed 5 people: one attack in Jerusalem (June 12, 2001) in which Greek monk Tsibouktsakis Germanus was murdered by terrorist Ismail Radaida and another unidentified terrorist, another attack at a gas station in Givat Zeev near Jerusalem (Jan. 15, 2002) in which Yoela Hen, 45, was murdered by terrorists led by Mohammed Matla, and one shooting and stabbing attack at the Sea Food Market restaurant in Tel Aviv (March 5, 2002) in which Eli Dahan, 53, Yosef Habi, 52, and Police Officer Sergeant-Major Salim Barakat, 33, were murdered by terrorist Ibrahim Hasouna. When arrested by Israel in 2002, Barghouti headed the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction). After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament. On Dec. 4, 2016, he was elected to Fatah's Central Committee.
